Great Service 5/19/2010

I recently visted the Aurora office as I thought I had broken my arm dirt biking last weekend. I thought about going to the ER, but the wait and the cost made me reconsider. A friend told me about Rocky Mountain Urgent Care, so I went to check them out. The staff was professional and courteous and I was out of there within an hour. Long story short it ended up just being a sprain, so I ended up saving myself a giant headache from visiting the ER. Pros: Convienent Hours, Quick, Professional Service Cons: Paperwork more

Great Service! 5/19/2010

I recently lost my health insurance, and I came down with the flu and thought I could wait it out. After about a week, I became more sick and couldn’t wait any longer. I called my family doctor and was told it would be at least $300 to see her. They referred me to Rocky Mountain Urgent Care, I was in and out in an hour and cost me less than $150. One week later I was back on my feet! Pros: Affordable more

do not support this business 4/13/2010

I have an invoice that I have a question about. Not a big deal, it just needs to be answered before I will pay my bill. I have left SIX voicemails for BETH in billing and she has never returned one call, even though her voicemail states that she will reply within 24 hours. I have tried for over a month to contact her. I even went to RMUC website and left a comment, asking that somebody contact me before I pay my bill. That's been over three weeks and I haven't heard from ANYONE!\r \r Also on the date of my service in Boulder, I sat in the waiting room for a ridiculously long time, even though not one other person entered or left the building. During this time, I was subjected to listen to the stupidest T.V. show with the filthiest language that every few words were deleted. Pathetic.\r \r I would rate this business with zero stars if it was offered. NEVER go here! There are other places out there. Cons: worst billing department more

WOW! 1/18/2010

I RECENTLY VISITED THE ENGLEWOOD ROCKY MOUNTAIN URGENT CARE. AND WOW THE FRONT DESK GIRL (AMBER) WAS AWESOME, SHE SMILED, LET ME KNOW WHAT THE APROX. AMOUNT OF THE VISIT WAS GOING TO COST ME (NO INSURANCE) AND EVEN OFFERED ME A DISCOUNT PLAN. SHE WASN'T RUDE, IT WAS LIKE SHE WAS HAPPY FOR ME TO BE SICK SO SHE COULD SEE ME. ( I KNOW THAT SOUNDS WEIRD BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN). THE LADY(KATIE)WHO GOT MY VITALS WAS VERY AWARE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON AND SEEMED TO BE REALLY CONCERNED FOR ME. AND WHEN I WENT TO THE BACK TO THE ROOM, KATIE TOLD ME THAT THE DR. BOB WOULD BE IN AS SOON AS HE COULD. SHORLY AFTER LIKE 10 MINUTES DR. BOB CAME IN AND SEEN ME, GAVE ME WHAT I NEED, EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT WAS GOING ON AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. THE ONLY REASON I SAY THE WAIT TIME WAS TERRIBLE, WAS BECAUSE I WAITED FOR AN HOUR. BUT I WAS ALSO WELL AWARE WHEN I CALLED (ONLY 15MINUTES) AMBER CLEARLY STATED THAT IT COULD CHANGE AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT BECAUSE ITS A WALK-IN CLINIC ONLY, SO I BROUGHT A BOOK. NO BIG DEAL, JUST WISH IT WAS A LITTLE FASTER. Pros: FRONT DESK, BACK STAFF, DOCTOR... EVERYTHING Cons: WAIT TIME more

Blinded by money 11/23/2009

I visited the clinic on Smoky Hill with my infant daughter. She has a medical condition that makes her high risk for flu and other illnesses. She seemed to have smiple ear infection, but was in some pain so I did not want ot wait for her to be seen the next day. They refused to see us because of an insurance issue. Let me be clear, we have perfectly valid insurance that would cover RMUC services, however they still refused to see us. \r \r I took her to the Little Clinic at the King Soopers across the road and they had no issue seeing us and it turned out she was a pretty sick little girl having not only an ear infection, but H1N1 as well. (They have limited services at the Little Clinic, but seemed to care about the patients)\r \r I know and respect the fact that RMUC is in business to turn a profit, however, they seem to let that get in the way of compassion and patient care. They refused care to a very sick little girl for no reason. They would have gotten paid, they just refused to bend on a technicallity. Cons: Rude front desk staff more

Fastest Way to Flush Cash Down the Drain-STAY AWAY! 11/8/2009

I went to Aurora UC on a Friday night. I was seen by a nurse before I was even finished with my papework. At first, I thought this was going to be amazing. I mean, I usually finish leafing through at least 2 magazines at every medical office I visit. \r \r The nurse practicioner came in and looked in my nose and throat, felt my lymph nodes, and said, ""well there's nothing i can do for you, sorry, maybe you can get your mom to pay for your visit, i know, it sucks"" She offered to write a script for cough medicine, which I felt I did not need. After all, she said, ""take tylenol, ibuprofen, drink juice"". 10 minutes later, I was kicked to the curb.\r \r I went to work the next night; I HAD to because of what i lost the night before. I called on Sunday, because they told me to follow up with them if symptoms worsen. ""Sorry, its another $150 if you want the prescription"" Are you kidding me?! The nurse told me to come back! \r \r Dont give this organization your respect, they wont give you any back. All they want is your money. I paid for a service. I feel like I did not receive it. Isn't that the basis that our capitalist society is based on?\r \r If anyone wants to picket this place, I will be right there with you. As soon as I get better anyways. Get ahold of me. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone that I care about. \r \r save your money: go to DENVER GENERAL if you dont have insurance. Pros: quick Cons: everything else more

Smoky Hill Rd, charges are very high, very bad treatment 8/7/2009

Hi, Pl. don't visit any Rocky Mountain Urgent Care places. very bad experience. I visited Smoky Hill Rd. location for minor cold and Sore throat and after 1 hr. waiting the Dr. spent only 2 min. and suggested using Tylenol. and received statement $322.00 (new patient detailed visit 162 + Urgent Care fee 160). Cons: over charge, waiting, Dr. not exp., more

Great Place 5/15/2009

I've gone to the Aurora location many times. I have always had good service although a few times the wait was long. Most of the time it was reasonable, nothing compared to the time spent in the ER down the street. Recently I had a problem with a bill. I have two insurance companies and there was a problem with the billing. I wrote Nathan Moore after not getting much accomplished with the billing department and the bottom line was that all was resolved. I think it says something when the head of a company addresses concerns like Nathan did. Back on July 18, 2008 he even gave his email address and phone number in his own review here. How many CEOs of other companies would publish this information so anyone can just write or call to resolve issues? To me it shows that he is genuinely interested in improving things. I wonder also how many of these others that had complaints “walked their concerns up the ladder” to try to resolve their issues rather than just writing a review (which I think should be a last resort). I would also urge others when writing a review of any company with multiple locations, to give the date and location along with what happened. Kudos to Nathan and all the people that take the time to resolve issues (both clients and companies) and those that write these reviews Pros: Location & friendly staff Cons: Billing. more

Westminster RM-UC where you pay to be mistreated 3/6/2009

This is about the WESTMINSTER Rocky Mountain Urgent Care. I have been there several times and got little or no help. They won't tell you how much the visit will cost. But I think the biggest problem is the DOCTOR they have in there. It's this young 20-something blonde chick with a pony tail, who acts like she can't stand people. She is rude, she doesn't seem to know much of anything except how to make other people wrong. She acts like she is ready to get into a contest with you about who knows more, you or her, and she is barely able to contain THAT behavior, but she nevertheless gets her message of disdain across. I went in for a throat culture and they already took the culture, which came back negative, but then I had to go sit in a room and wait for HER. She did absolutely NOTHING for me, and I resent being charged for her ""treatment"" of me. After I had already told them TWICE why I was there, she doesn't bother to even read my chart, she comes in asking why I'm there in an accusatory, contemptuous tone. She is patronizingly disrespectful, as if to make me feel foolish for coming in. I don't understand why I would need to pay extra for her to come do this, it's worth nothing. Believe me, you don't want to go to someone like this. All I asked for was a throat test to see if I needed antibiotics. If not, fine. If I needed them, I guess she could then charge me to write an Rx. But for a simple throat swab done by the nurse, I think I should not pay more than $30 plus any lab test fee. But I'm sure that stupid little doctor will probably tag on another couple of hundred dollars just to come lord over me. It just flat isn't worth it, who has money for that nowadays? The 'good ole days' are long gone, bro. Provide value with a smile or go out of business.\r \r Pros: Close by Cons: Unfriendly, inexperienced doctor more

Great Staff 1/27/2009

I'd been coming here for physicals and shots ever since I was younger and it's been a great experience every time. This is a great place to go if your not looking for the hustle and bustle of the crowded hospitals. more

Not good 11/21/2008

This place overcharges!! I took my daughter in for a few minute doctor visit. We were charged $254.00!! One charge of $150.00 for a facilities fee and another charge of $104.00 for an expanded visit. What expanded visit?? The only expansion of our visit was waiting in the room for the doctor!! more

A Message from RMUC 7/18/2008

To All of have written reviews about Rocky Mountain Urgent Care:\r \r I am Nathan Moore and I am the president and CEO of Rocky Mountain Urgent Care. I can be reach at nmoore@rm-uc dot com. Our phone number is 303-695-1338. First of all, I want to say thank you for your reviews. They are not great reviews and they are all extremely embarassing to me and to Rocky Mountain Urgent Care. So I want to address your concerns and hopefully make RMUC a better place to be seen as a patient. I only have a limited amount of space, so email me if I haven't addressed your concerns here.\r \r In order to write a response here, I had to do it as a review. Given all of your comments, I considered giving RMUC a ONE STAR rating as well. There appear to be a lot of concerns and confusion about our pricing, how our facilities look, the quality of our providers, and the timeliness of service at our facilities. These are all legitimate concerns. However, I honestly think that we are doing a better job than to be given a ONE STAR rating. We provide medical care with high quality physicians, every single day of the year. We treat over 100,000 patients a year in our facilities. We do it at one third the cost of the ER and with much shorter wait times. It is more expensive than primary care, but you don't need an appt, and we are open every day. Thus our costs are greater. Our pricing is confusing - I promise to make this more clear to our patients. Our providers are not going to know everything, and I would rather they send you to someone who knows the answer than simply guess. A full refund should be given. Our clinics can be busy - this is the nature of walk-in medical care. We try to staff appropriately, but we can't predict when 10 patients will show up at once. I want to make RMUC THE place you think about for urgent care. I promise to take to heart all of your comments and make RMUC a better place. Thank you again for your thoughts. Please post/send more!! more

BEWARE 5 months been walking on a fractured foot! 5/9/2008

First off, the dr spent 10 min the entire time for the exam. He was too busy to answer questions, and rushed in and out of the room. Secondly, I was charged double what I was quoted for the price, and then they added an extra 200 on top of that. BEWARE of extra charges! \r \r Here I am 5 months later still with foot pain. After have 6 x-rays and being told my foot was fine, I went to a podiatrist today and found out I have a fractured foot!!!!!!! I saw the x-rays this time and it was completely obvious that it is broken! I broke one of my sesamoids bones and these idiots didn't even catch it. It was broken completely in half, how does a dr miss that? Even I could tell and I haven't been to medical school! Cons: over charge, horrible care, dirty rooms, long waits, unprofessional staff, misdiagnosed broken foot need I say more? more

RMUC -ENGLEWOOD - NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR KIDS! Don't waste your time! Go to the ER! 4/18/2008

Waited for over 11/2 hours!!! When we are finally seen by the doctor he looks at my daughters rash and says I have never seen this and have no idea what this is (they say on thier website -----Skin Rashes, Bites ! Were told by the doctor to go to the Childrens Hospital Immediatley, where they give us an explanation for the rash-as they actually did some research and found what the rash was. Why couldnt the RMUC doctor TRY to look for it? Why am I being charged $150.00 for 2 mins of doctor time, when he couldnt even begin to think of a type of rash or give us any instructions on what to do-he is clueless and we better get a REAL ER Doctor to look at it? I call to get an explanation and the office manager can't help me, so now I have to talk to the director. Here I am 3 days later and still no explanation! \r \r Dont waste your time or money go straight to the real ER - they have better resources, better staff, better doctors, JUST Plain BETTER and worth the extra money)!!!!\r \r I will never go to any of these clinics ever and I will tell anyone who will listen. DONT GO!!! more

Incompetent Staff 4/2/2008

So a few months ago I started experiencing intense pain from a root canal which had been ongoing for about two weeks (long story...) I also suffer from occasional migraines. Well, the tooth pain prompted a migraine attack, at about 9 pm...Went in to be seen at Aurora Urgent Care and waited for about half an hour, before they had me fill out paperwork. Then the girl needed my ID again about 15 min later. About 10 min later they took me back to a rrom where I sat for about 45 min waiting to be seen by doc. The nurse/front desk/whatever she was came in and told me I would have to leave and go to the ER because my insurance didn't cover tooth pain with them (even tho I was mostly there for the migraine). For anyone in actual pain, 2 hours of wasted time is a LONG time. No apology or anything. Also got some attitude from the front desk girls (or in fairness maybe I was just in pain and being grouchy) but either way my experience sucked. Pros: Less wait time than ER Cons: Unorganized, rude staff more

terrible healthcare, bad business, outdated equipment 3/20/2008

This is actually based on an experience at the Englewood Rocky Mountain Urgent Care location - but after my negative experience there I would encourage anyone and everyone to avoid all of these locations. I had an x-ray done (by a doctor who NEVER did even introduce himself by name) and a few days later received a phone call from that same physician informing me there was a problem and that I would need to see a specialist. The first specialist that I called required a written referral....guess what... Rocky Mountain Urgent Care doesn't provide written referrals.....why??? I was informed it was policy. Sounds more like laziness to me.\r I FINALLY got to see a specialist who wanted to see my x-ray....guess what.....Englewood Rocky Mountain Urgent Care doesn't have these films on disc that can be easily shared with other medical offices. What about if I do the footwork and come by and pick them up myself?? Guess what....they are no longer in the office because they've been sent to the radiologist. When will they be back?? Guess what......they don't know.\r This is a sorry excuse for a business. Their website boasts ""highest quality medical care possible"". It is far from it...outdated, unprofessional and inconvenient. They are eager to take your co-pay, but seems as though anything beyond that is just too difficult / too much work. Pros: hours of operation Cons: inconvenient, bad business, outdated equipment, no referrals beyond their office more

Money vs Healthcare 3/30/2007

This company seems more concerned about making money, should focus more on patient care and the treatment of dedicated employees. Appears they spend more money on advertising, maybe that is why they can't pay their employees. What is happening to our family docs......? Something to think about, huh? Not saying this regarding all their providers, some still care about patient care, not just $, just the one that controls the overall business. Pros: Few doctors are caring, as well as some staff Cons: parking/waiting/some employees have bad customer service skills/responding to patient telephone calls and needs more

Most convenient, best service 10/26/2006

I brought my son here to be seen on a Saturday morning. The clinic was busy and I thought oh my god I'm going to wait awhile. I did my paperwork and had a seat and within 10 minutes they called us back. We barely sat down and the doctor came in. He already had the strep test results! She checked my son over and told us he had strep throat. They were able to fill his prescription for antibiotics right there!! We didn't even have to go to the pharmacy! This place is great. The staff is friendly. I know they see a lot of people but it seems that they have enough staff to handle everybody. I'd use them again. Pros: quick service, great doctors Cons: busy clinic more

Don't go here if you are in pain 10/23/2006

My daughter was seen at this clinic with a fever that had been soaring all night, a raw throat that was extremely swollen, felt like she was swallowing broken glass, etc. This clinic ran the typical tests and then sent her off with antibiotics and steroids. \r \r My daughter is the mother of an immune deficient child and minimally, I think a shot of antibiotics should have been given if her throat was swollen enough for steroids. A shot of antibiotics would have started infection control and protected the child at home from a potentially devastatng illnes. Secondly, when she asked for pain relief, she was told ""if you are looking for narcotics, that is not what we do here."" Really? Exactly what is it that you do there if you are not providing pain relief for people in obvious pain?. The people that work at this clinic are what are known as opiophobes - physicians who either through inadequate training or fear of prosecution by the government, refuse to provide relief to their patients in pain. It's an epidemic and a national disgrace in this country. I urge this clinic and anyone else reading this to go to the websites of the National Pain Foundation, the American Pain Foundation and pain clinicians org. There is NO EXCUSE for my daughter leaving your clinic in pain and contagious to her child. I had exactly the same illness but went to a respected Denver E.R and was given an antibiotic shot, an antibiotic prescription, a mixture that numbed my throat and a narcotic for the pain. I recovered fast and with minimum pain. And I assure you, I am not roving the streets, knocking off pharmacies looking for opium meds as a result. Research doesn't back up the whole narcotic addiction scare. Please go to the above websites.\r \r To the nurse at the clinic who wanted to tell me her philosophy, an opinion is not a fact - try and remember that. I would urge others to go somewhere else, especially if you are in pain. Pros: convenient to I225 Cons: Opiophobes, completely missed obvious pink eye infection, failure to do thorough exam which would have indicated bladder infection and pelvic problem more

Pain 6/4/2006

I don't remember the gentlemans name, who I asked to anesthetize me because the pain had become so intense. He told me you don't need that, and promptly stuck a needle in my thumb to numb it. I cannot begin to describe the pain. So you don't think I'm a Wimp, I have had an ankle shattered and but back together with screws, also a broken hip, same repair, a lot more pain. I have worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, outside in all kinds of weather, for twenty years before I moved into management. I have been burned, cut, and broken several times. I have been stitched up more than some prizefighters. This was different, this was not necessary. I screamed at the top of my lungs, three other people came in to hold me down. Pros: none, na, na Cons: rude, pain, laughed it more
