I don't remember the gentlemans name, who I asked to anesthetize me because the pain had become so intense. He told me you don't need that, and promptly stuck a needle in my thumb to numb it.
I cannot begin to describe the pain. So you don't think I'm a Wimp, I have had an ankle shattered and but back together with screws, also a broken hip, same repair, a lot more pain. I have worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, outside in all kinds of weather, for twenty years before I moved into management. I have been burned, cut, and broken several times. I have been stitched up more than some prizefighters. This was different, this was not necessary.
I screamed at the top of my lungs, three other people came in to hold me down.
