Thank you oradell and thank you Dr. Hudak.. I was there last Monday with my best friend, love, company and sweet heart Gina, she is resting now and I know Dr. That You Were there ...

First, their facility is world-class. Since they moved from their old location in Oradell on Kinderkamack, it rivals a very technology forward human hospital. Enormous staff, and ...

RIPOFF, SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN 12/29/2013

this place is no good, took my 8mo old puppy to the rutherford hospital and they could not do anything for my puppy but still charged me $80 and told me that I need to take my baby Ean to the er at Oradell animal hospital right away. I went there and Amanda Little did not even examine my puppy but she told me what she think is wrong with my puppy and told me he need surgery right away. She was so rude. This surgery would cost $7000, and she then told me that she won't charge me for the visit today and she will keep my puppy over night for an additional $2500 to see if the meds will help. I told her to give me the meds and I will take my puppy home. This doc tried everything to get us to leave Ean overnight but I wanted my baby home with me. When I went to check out and pay for only the meds because I was told I did not have to pay for the visit, I was charged for the meds and the visit and a very bad attitude. I will NEVER go to this place again. They do not care about you or your pet more

UNSCRUPULOUS 6/7/2013

ORADELL ANIMAL HOSPITAL - WHERE THEY PREY UPON THE VULNERABILITIES OF PET LOVERS IN CRISIS\r \r Oradell Animal Hospital (OAH) is a ripoff and should be investigated by Consumer Affairs. Their prices are grossly inflated. They charged me $269 for a series of simple blood tests at OAH. The same tests performed on humans at Biogensis Labs cost less than $50. They even had the audacity to charge $133 to check the dogs blood pressure. As a doctor myself, a simple blood pressure evaluation is an integrated aspect of all evaluations and can not be charged separately. They double charged me $341 when they had two echocardiograms performed ($341 each) on the same day and billed by different vets. Double billing will get your license suspended. They asked for a credit card deposit up front but never got my authorization for these procedures. Their vets may be qualified, but their billing practices are unscrupulous at best. more

Oradell was the best for us 1/10/2013

I have been taking my dog to OAH for about 7 years. They saved her life two times. They also diagnosed her with bladder cancer on an emergency visit about 6 months ago. I didn't like the blunt manner of the emergency doctor but ultimately he was right. We did all we could & we had to put her down yesterday since the cancer was blocking her ability to urinate. It was incredibly sad & painful for me, my husband, & our sweet dog. Oradell was wonderful, compassionate, & very gentle throughout the process. Yes they r very expensive & having dog health insurance always made it easier. For the $50 a month I paid I was reimbursed at least $30,000 over my dogs life & she had the best care from Oradell. Turns out the Animal Medical Center in NYC didn't hold a candle to Oradell. I highly recommend them & dog health insurance is a great option if started as a puppy. It helps a lot to not have to worry about expense when a family member is sick & in need. more

There's really no where else to go... 6/6/2012

I have been coming to oradell for many years. I now own my third dog. I have seen many veterinarians there, including specialists. The building is state of the art, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! Drs. Carberry, Sartor, DeSantis and Gannon are world class. Dr. Bucklan is a genius. I am sure that all of them are wonderful, but these are just a few that come to mind. I would never go anywhere else. I hope they know that they help people and pets every day. Not just any people can do this. You have to be caring and dedicated. Thanks for always being there! more

Extraordinary Hospital!!!! 10/10/2011

I have been bringing my pets to Oradell Animal Hospital for many years. The care we have received has been exceptional. The hospital is a beautiful, immaculate state of the art facility with an incredible staff. Dr. Carberry who is a brilliant doctor and surgeon has been our veterinarian. She is as talented as she is deeply compassionate and caring. My dog Jasmine has had many diagnostic challenges. Dr. Carberry has created miracles with Jasmine. Her commitment to her patients and their families is truly amazing. She has the most magnificent staff (Dawne, Joli and Stephanie) that support us with anything we need. They go above and beyond for us. All the administrative, reception and medical staff at Oradell have been terrific. There are fantastic specialists to consult with for every medical issue. Recently, Jasmine had to have emergency liver surgery. Dr. Carberry saved her life and continues to. Jasmine received outstanding treatment during her hospitalization. The staff, the doctors, and the facility were wonderful. We were kept updated constantly of her progress and were able to visit her. I am truly grateful to have a place like Oradell Animal Hospital. more

Staff not too professional 8/23/2011

We were there about a year ago on emergency. We waited about 45 mins. in a room late one night with our cat who probably had an ear infection. While waiting, we heard lots of laughing from behind the door--sounded like a party. We were finally seen by a very young intern--not too impressed with her knowledge. Fee--about $200--no complaints about it. Just felt people acted less than professional. more

Awful 7/16/2011

Oradell doesn't even deserve the 1 star rating. I took my female great dane on an emergency basis and requested an addison's test. They told me they didn't think the $200 test was warranted... yet they did all others including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray. They said she was dehydrated and needed to be kept on IV fluids for 3-4 days. Bill was over $4000 and the tests only revealed she was losing protein in her urine which is symptomatic of something else going on. They thought it was renal failure and sent me home with low protein food. She bounced back for a few weeks after being on fluids and then went down hill only a few weeks later. On a Friday the vet took blood, Sat-Sunday she stopped eating, Monday i called the office 4 times and got no response. I finally took her there and told Dr. Crawford i wanted the Addison's test done and wanted to start her on the treatment. Dr.Crawford yelled at me that it wasn't Addisons and i was "going the wrong way". Dr. Crawford did an ultrasound of more

Extremely caring 4/28/2011

We were never very good at bringing our dog to the vet and have only gone to OAH a few times. Yes they were expensive but they were also very nice, and despite once recomending an expensive surgery they did also offer an alternative treatment, admitting that it would not be as good, but would be cheaper and still get our girl back on her feet. When our cheaper town vet diagnosed her with cancer and the time came to put her down OAH was outstanding. Again they were more expensive than other places but the kindness they showed m wife and the little touches like a paw print, flowers and coffin to burry our dog showed a level of compassion that impressed me greatly. I was even more impressed when we recieved a sympathy card from them the next week. Now when we are ready to get another dog I know that i will take them to OAH, because the cost difference is well worth the compassion, and care that they give. more

You Need to Be Realistic 4/21/2011

First of all, let's not kid yourselves. Be it a people or animal hospital if they save you they are great, if they don't they stink. Results matter. Unfortunately, animals can't talk.\r \r One common theme is the expense. People expect OAH to the be the price of their local vet. Well, is your local vet open 24 hours a day, seven days a week? That costs money to staff. Does your vet have an MRI machine? All the conveniences of modern medicine cost money and like with people it inflates bills. You can't expect to walk into OAH and pay what you would at a vet who practices on his own and can't do much more than spaying and neutering; it's not realistic.\r \r If you have a local vet you like great; stay with him, but if there is a problem, be glad a hospital like OAH is around when you need them. more

very HAPPY with services 3/30/2011

It's not easy to find a vet that is open 24/7. I dont use them as my local vet yet, but i did have to bring in my dog Jack on emergency for a bleeding toe nail that the groomer cut to short. This to me was an upsetting thing to see my Jack in such pain. I was greeted with warm smiles at the desk and seen by a technician to observe the seriousness of the situation. I waited in the seating room. It felt like an acutal human hospital. The wait time was not long at all, appx 20 mins. I saw Dr. Gelman who was excellent. You get what you pay for and this was top notch. I have pet insurance and I called the next day and spoke with Meagan and she was so sweet to help me get a diagnoses for my insurance company. From the Greeters, to the technician, to Dr. Gelman, to Meagan with my insurance, I could not ask for better service. I may use oradell as my regular vet. Very IMPRESSED and my little Jack is healed just fine now! more

They play on your emotions.... 3/17/2011

My cat is going to be 16 years old in May. She has heart and kidney problems and is seen by Dr. Shrope the cardiologist. She takes medication on a regular basis. The money that I have spent at this place is just insane. Her echo was $900 and she was just there in January for a chest x-ray $600. I was advised to take her there every 2 months. You got to be kidding me!! Sorry, not going to happen. The funny thing is that she seems fine eats, well and seems alert. I will still take her there but not as often. This place has almost put me in debt. What thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Go elsewhere... 3/9/2011

Stay away from this place. What you see is what you get. A nice big facility with big bills to pay. That equates to ridiculously high charges for a vet service which can't deliver.\r \r In my situation, my dog was gravely ill with an unexplained illness. Without doing our research, we brought him here where they kept him for 3 days and couldn't explain what caused him to be so bloated. They ultimately concluded that the dog had no shot of living and it would have been best to put him down. Our family met there, cried and contemplated what to do. We decided to let the dog live the rest of his life home.\r \r We took the dog back into our care and brought him to a small local vet who changed his diet and put him on diuretics. It turned out my dog had been exposed to the poisoned food that eventually made waves in the headlines.\r \r This was years ago... the dog is still alive and doing fine, though he is now an old man.\r \r Oradell Animal Hospital wacked us with thousands of dollars worth of b more

Really! it is a good hospital with excellent doctors... 2/4/2011

People who write reviews are never really satisfied because they are not happy with the outcome. Please try to remember that medicine is not an exact science and sometimes bad things happen. Pets get ill and no matter what is done, they sometimes cannot be helped. It's really not a hard concept to grasp.... more

RUN RUN AWAY from ORADELL 10/22/2010

Run away as fast as you can. My very sick 18 year old 6 lb cat was dehydrated. Took him on emergency visit ( sunday) Oradell made us give a deposit of $1000. dollars to treat him. Doctor grabbed him by scruff of neck and he bit her. Never showed aggresssion toward anyone in 18 years, sick or well. The vet tech picked him up with ease in a towel, no problem. What was vet thinking? 25 hours later I was charged $2400. for xrays, hydration, 2 full days vet care along with bloodwork. Guess what, they did not give me test results of his thryroid disease for two weeks. I was informed if he died I would have to give him up to them for necropsy for rabies. He was an indoor cat his entire life. Kept results to see if he would die put him in jeopardy. Also said if they did not find anything to do exploratory surgery on an 17 year old cat! This is my baby, no one will ever do that to him. Took him to Ho Ho Kus vet hospital and he lived and was loved for another year. They were kind and lo more

THEY ARE ALL ABOUT MONEY 9/30/2010

I brought my cat there 2 weeks ago today. She was breathing heavy, not doing well. I didn't want to put her down. Oradell, gave me hope. After an over $3,000 diagnosis, which i agreed to, because i loved my cat dearly, they treated her by supposedly clearing her lung. I brought her home, she seem the same. They gave me meds. I tried for a week. Not getting better. I called them, said she's doing the same, they said bring her in. i said ok, but i can't afford to spend anymore. Well, of course, i get there and 200 dollars more, the cat died when i got home. I'm devasted. almost 3,400 dollars and she's gone. I hate ORADELL ANIMAL HOSPITAL... i wish they would have been honest with me and told me, she's not well. Don't take my money and give me hope. I would have paid $10,000, to have her here today. they are all about MONEY!!!!! more

Filing System very backwards 8/31/2010

For a technologically advanced and a very large hospital Oradell Hospital has a very backwards record filing system. They lost/delayed/misplaced my pet's blood test results so many times!it's ridiculous!! Not sure if they are the only hospital who still keeps paper records. Isn't everywhere else computerized? Anyway the people there are just okay. Seems like they would rather be somewhere else than there, but generally okay.Lukewarm. Not a very enthusiastic bunch. But they get the job done most of the time coz my pets are okay. more

Oradell Animal Hospital is horrible! 6/19/2010

I found Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus NJ to be one of the worst Animal Hospitals. My family's maltese was severely injured by another vet during routine dental cleaning. When he started showing signs of respiratory problems he was rushed to Oradell Animal Hospital. They could not diagnose the situation but held him for several days under extreme sedation jeopardizing his health. An inexperienced intern was put in his charge of his case. When my sister contacted me about this situation I intervened and had to fight them to release him so that i could have him seen by an experienced, knowledgable veterinarian. After a lengthy conversation explaining their liability with the inexperienced intern I was able to get our dog and bring him to Emergency Animal Hospital in Fairfield. He was given proper treatment and is now doing fine. If I allowed Oradell to have their way he would have been heavily sedated for days in unsanitary conditions. They could not diagnose his condition but yet t more

Outstanding care 4/6/2010

My bichon has cancer. I was sent to OAH when my own vet referred me during an emergency as Simbas pericardium was filled with fluid and he was near deat last month. Until then we had no clue he was sick. He was diagnosed at OAH with hemangiosarcoma. It is terminal. Both myself and Simba have conitnuosly been dealt with the best care. He has a cardiologist and an oncologist. Dr. Bailey the oncologist is both kind and knowlegeable. When I scheduled the appt with him, really feeling hopeless, he and two very nice staff members spent almost an hour with me talking about what Simbas options were. The exam room has bean bag chairs so you can sit on the floor with your pet. Dr Baily sat down with us and was so honest about Simbas chances and helped me deal with how I was feeling. Every time Simba has chemo he personally brings him out to me in the waiting room and we talk. The entire staff has been great both in person and on the phone. While I know that my dog doesnt have a lot o more

Only care about the money 3/6/2010

They did nothing medically for my pet. They charged more for a visit than my family doctor does. I would suggest going anywhere but. more

  • Established in 1961 by Drs. Gary Johnson and Anthony Palminteri, Oradell Animal Hospital has grown into one of the largest technologically advanced, state-of-the-art veterinary facilities in the world. As we continue to grow our mission remains to provide the highest quality, comprehensive, and compassionate medical care to pets while supporting our clients with sensitivity and understanding; and to serve as a multifaceted resource for the veterinary profession. Our award winning hospital encompasses a team of veterinarians, technicians, client service representatives, office personnel and other support staff all providing a level of competence and professionalism which makes us an institution of which we are all proud. The hospital is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year offering emergency services at all times combined with medically advanced diagnostics and treatment. In addition, our team of board certified specialists are available to accept referrals of diagnostically challenging cases from your family veterinarian. Oradell Animal Hospital has two satellite locations located in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey and Fort Lee, New Jersey that are staffed by the hospital's doctors. Both offices share on-line computerized patient records with the main hospital. Whether you are dealing with an emergency situation or your pet is being referred, the Oradell Animal Hospital stands ready to care for both your pet and your family. Oradell Animal Hospital is proud to be an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care. Since 1963, we have regularly undergone inspections by AAHA to ensure that we comply with the association's high quality standards of care. These standards cover nearly every aspect of our hospital. Approximately 17 percent of animal hospitals in the United States are accredited by AAHA. Our general medicine veterinarians are highly skilled and trained to take special care of your pet from birth through their senior years. We perform all levels of service such as preventive medicine, diagnosis of disease, medical treatments and emergencies. Your general medicine veterinarian will work as a team with you and our board certified specialists to provide initial and follow up care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some of the more common problems our generalists see include diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, skin conditions, ear infections, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, eye problems, obstetrical problems, cardiac conditions, infectious diseases such as tracheobronchitis or parvovirus infections and common orthopedic problems such as arthritis, ruptured ligaments, and lamenesses. Your pet's health and well-being is our number one concern. A wellness examination gives us the chance to evaluate your pet's overall health and to detect problems before they turn into serious illnesses. Because most pets age more quickly than you do, it is essential that your pet's be examined at least once a year and as your pets get older, twice yearly. Additional testing may be recommended to diagnose a health problem. As part of the wellness examination a complete physical examination will be performed plus any routine screening tests that may be indicated. The early signs of heart disease can often be recognized during a routine health exam.
