Established in 1961 by Drs. Gary Johnson and Anthony Palminteri, Oradell Animal Hospital has grown into one of the largest technologically advanced, state-of-the-art veterinary facilities in the world. As we continue to grow our mission remains to provide the highest quality, comprehensive, and compassionate medical care to pets while supporting our clients with sensitivity and understanding; and to serve as a multifaceted resource for the veterinary profession. Our award winning hospital encompasses a team of veterinarians, technicians, client service representatives, office personnel and other support staff all providing a level of competence and professionalism which makes us an institution of which we are all proud. The hospital is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year offering emergency services at all times combined with medically advanced diagnostics and treatment. In addition, our team of board certified specialists are available to accept referrals of diagnostically challenging cases from your family veterinarian. Oradell Animal Hospital has two satellite locations located in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey and Fort Lee, New Jersey that are staffed by the hospital's doctors. Both offices share on-line computerized patient records with the main hospital. Whether you are dealing with an emergency situation or your pet is being referred, the Oradell Animal Hospital stands ready to care for both your pet and your family. Oradell Animal Hospital is proud to be an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care. Since 1963, we have regularly undergone inspections by AAHA to ensure that we comply with the association's high quality standards of care. These standards cover nearly every aspect of our hospital. Approximately 17 percent of animal hospitals in the United States are accredited by AAHA. Our general medicine veterinarians are highly skilled and trained to take special care of your pet from birth through their senior years. We perform all levels of service such as preventive medicine, diagnosis of disease, medical treatments and emergencies. Your general medicine veterinarian will work as a team with you and our board certified specialists to provide initial and follow up care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some of the more common problems our generalists see include diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, skin conditions, ear infections, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, eye problems, obstetrical problems, cardiac conditions, infectious diseases such as tracheobronchitis or parvovirus infections and common orthopedic problems such as arthritis, ruptured ligaments, and lamenesses. Your pet's health and well-being is our number one concern. A wellness examination gives us the chance to evaluate your pet's overall health and to detect problems before they turn into serious illnesses. Because most pets age more quickly than you do, it is essential that your pet's be examined at least once a year and as your pets get older, twice yearly. Additional testing may be recommended to diagnose a health problem. As part of the wellness examination a complete physical examination will be performed plus any routine screening tests that may be indicated. The early signs of heart disease can often be recognized during a routine health exam.
