Stay far, far away 11/24/2006

Long story short: they spent hours ""fixing"" a problem that did not exist on my machine, and neglected to address the only problem my computer actually did have. The free diagnostic did not identify what was actually wrong with my computer, and it was only when I complained that they decided not to charge me hundreds of dollars for unnecessary work. My computer now not only works worse than it did before, but I lost some important information and programs in the process. And, best of all, the staff harassed me afterward trying to make me feel guilty and ""grateful"" for the superfluous work and highly obnoxious service. I rarely bother to complain about service anywhere but I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. They don't give you a guarantee of any kind that the work you ask to be done will get done. more

Free diagnostics! Can't beat it. 11/21/2006

My computer wouldn't turn on and didnt' know what to do. I didn't even know what was wrong with it. Since I didn't know, I got a huge range of prices on the phone. I called the NY Computer shop and they said bring it in for a free diagnostic to see what the issue is. As a born and bred NYer my whole life I didn't believe it. Sure enough, I brought my laptop in and they gave me a free diagnostic by telling me the cost for getting the computer working again due to the bad hard drive. I went ahead since the cost was very reasonable. And best of all they had it ready for me the same day! Pros: Free diagnostic, honest, fast more

A loyal customer 10/30/2006

My job takes me all over the world...and my laptop of course travels with me. One particular visit in Los Angeles made me realize that my laptop was a little overworked and it decided not to boot up. I immediately called my tech folks at New York Computer Help at about 9PM. I received a live person who calmly relayed the nature of the problem and the resolution. So, I overnighted my laptop from LA to NYC. Then, the techs fixed my laptop with the resolution discussed on the phone, and overnighted it back to me in LA. My laptop, although on jetlag, is back in full force again. Now, I'm off to Cairo and so is my laptop. I have developed such a sense of comfort with NYCH that I am forever an eternal fan! Set up my company's mac network in a snap! 10/19/2006

Our architectural firm as app. 10 macs and a couple of PCs. We needed to have them networked, shared network drives, set up a backup, and e-mails, and some other tweaks. We were very apprehensive with who to choose to set it up. The NYC help guys sent their consultant to sit down with us, assess and then conquer! He met all our objectives under budget and under the time estimate. The network has been running without any glitches for over a month now. I am now using them as support...although hardly needed. I went to thier office and spoke briefly with a representative who gave me excellent advice which certainly fixed all of my extant problems. This company is very professional, skilled, and helpful.
