Quick macbook repair 3/24/2009

I've been used to going to the Apple store and getting 2-3 week turn-arounds for every macbook fix I needed. I'm so happy to find the New York Computer Help shop on 57th street. They replaced my macbook screen in a 3-day turn-around time. This included buying the LCD replacement screen and installing it. Very professional, good bedside manner, and decent pricing. Pros: quick, professional, didn't take as long as Apple store Cons: not easy to find their office more

They replaced my macbook screen in a 3-day turn-around time. This included buying the LCD replacement screen and installing it. Very professional, good bedside manner, and decent pricing. quick and honest service 3/17/2009

My computer was on the fritz and kept shutting down for no reason. I thought a virus was at work. Joe at NYCH told me that my hard drive needed to be replaced. I gave the go-ahead. He later contacted me and said that the motherboard was bad too, and recommended that I just get a new computer since replacing the motherboard, plus the hard drive, plus the hours charged for labor, would be the cost of an entry-level computer. Even though NYCH technically did not fix my problem, I really appreciated the honesty. The last time I took my computer to a different repair shop (November 2007) because my computer had died, the people there didn't say anything about my getting a new computer; it seemed like they just cared about the money. NYCH is a lot better. :) Pros: honest, quick, friendly service Cons: can't think of any more

Removed my office virus fast! 3/11/2009

Our office computer got infected with the Vundo virus, and then quickly spread to 2 more computers. The NewYorkComputerHelp Technician came out the same day we called, and fixed the virus in 2 hours. I waited 2 weeks to make sure the computers were still ok before writing this review, and we're still clean as a whistle! I'm very impressed and am spreading the good word to my friends. Pros: very professional, get right down to business Cons: I wish I knew of this company sooner. more

They make it look easy ... 3/10/2009

When an external disk drive failed they replaced it within a day ... the DATA on the disk drive was worth more than my computer. I was feeling a lot of stress and I really needed to know whether I could get the information back or not. They more than delivered on the technical side, and were professional and courteous as well.\r \r After that, I recommended them to a friend ... and I recommend them to you.\r \r Best wishes Pros: 7 Day Service Cons: I'm a happy camper ... none. more

As a student, I have no money but still needed to recover my class assignments on my dead laptop. I brought my Sony laptop to New York Computer Help, and they recovered my files a few hours after. and it cost only $85. I really thought it would cost a lot more and take more time so I just want to show my appreciation to this firm for providing a fast service at a very reasonable rate. Thank you! I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay for a repair on my 3-year old Sony laptop or just buy a cheap one. So, I went to these guys and wanted to write a review b/c I was impressed with the very quick assessment and cost of my laptop. I was even told it's recommended to just get a new computer since the LCD screen costs the same as getting an entry level computer! Never heard of a repair place not wanting my money. So, I decided to have them back up all my pictures, music, and documents for $85 and bought a new computer. I was very pleased with this place and will recommend all my friend. Pros: Upfront, fast, good! more

Straight-forward, upfront home service - no complaints 10/22/2008

I used this tech co. to fix my internet at home. I have a mac and pc and both couldn't connected. the guy fixed the internet less than 1 hr and also showed me how to fix it again if it goes down. No complaints here. Pros: great home service more

Best NYC tech support for my hedge fund company 10/13/2008

As a hedge fund owner, I'm always looking for the best pricing quickly. The same goes for my staff's tech support. We've been with these guys for 5 years and time came up for renewal of our tech support and we went with a cheaper option to try. Not because we didn't like New York computer help, but just because I was price checking and found some cheaper places. I'm writing now to tell you that I'm an idiot to go somewhere else since I received a one-man show who wasn't professional or responsive at all. Then,, I found another place that didn't explain what they were doing. Needless to say, I went back to nych right away and will never stray again. Going to other tech companies made me realize how priceless and fortunate I am to find them. They are professional, well-versed, on-time, and truly care about my business. Pros: top tech company Cons: not the cheapest but well-worth it more
