Set up my iPhone perfectly! 12/10/2007

I just got the new iPhone and was very excited, but soon became flustered when realizing I didn't know how to set it up. There was this wifi and edge internet stuff and then pop3 or mapi email choices. I was very confused so I called up New York Computer Help. They got the job done and even set me up for Gtalk even though the phone is not made for it yet. Thanks - i will definitely call again! Pros: experienced, knowledgable more

My office moved downtown and needed a tech company to move our 20 computers and server to the new location. The challenge was that my old tech company went out of business a week before the move! So, I found New York Computer Help on Citysearch with great reviews and gave it a shot. The reviews are definitely true. Since the first phone call, I received friendly advice and professional service. I wasn't sure how the service would be since it was set up quicker than expected in regard to the setup for the workstations, server, and internet. But, sure enough, a month later I am writing now because there have been no issues ever since. I have since contracted with NY Computer H for a weekly maintenance agreement to further boost our productivity via tech. Just writing now because they definitely smoothed out my office move during a very stressful time. Pros: Very professional, helpful advice, good-natured more

Fast screen replacement for my laptop 11/11/2007

My boyfriend stepped on my Dell laptop screen. As you can imagine, he is in the doghouse with me now. He made up for it by bringing it New York Computer Help. I was in the middle of mid-terms so I really needed quick service. I brought it to them on Thursday late morning and received it back Friday afternoon with a new screen. Not even Dell could promise such a fast turn-around. Worth every penny. Thanks a bunch! Now, if only I can get a service to fix my boyfriend and his heavy foot! :) Pros: quick, felt comfortable, got my computer working again fast! Cons: my boyfriend and I are still together :) more

Well, the title says it all. My laptop got now power whatsoever. They diagnosed it and put the right replacement part in to get my laptop running again. It sounds simple enough, but I know not all computer repair places would nail it right on the head like this place did. So, I'm letting I'll my friends know to go there for the best computer help. I didn't know if I should fix my computer or not so I brought in my Acer notebook for a free diagnostic. NY Computer Help gave me a menu of options and I decided to back up my files and install wireless. They tested the hard drive and made sure there was not viruses. Excellent server support! 9/18/2007

Our company server was down and these folks got it up and running, and set up the workstations to access the server files, configure emails, antivirus, etc. all within hours in the same day. A true lifesaver! Pros: Smart and quick! more

Very honest tech guys! 8/22/2007

I brought my laptop into NYCH in the morning. An hour later, I got a call back and I expected the worse since my Dell wouldn't turn on at all. I received a diagnostic that the motherboard needs to be replaced. Instead of getting the price pitched to me, the rep told me in a comforting tone that I would be better off moving onto a new laptop. I was actually ready to replace the motherboard until he mentioned that since my laptop was over 3 years old and other parts might be failing soon after investing in a new motherboard, that it wasn't worth it to fix. I really was surprised by such an honest approach. I really respected the candor and honest recommendation. I am now planning to bring my new laptop to these guys to transfer my files over. Good people to work with! Pros: Honest, honest, honest! Cons: can't think of any more

Didn't fix my computer! 7/8/2007

I asked for some relatively simple fixes (wireless driver on laptop), and paid over $100, but I can't tell that anything changed on my computer (the driver is still the same version as when I dropped it off). It still doesn't work and what's worse is that they couldn't even tell me what they did!\r \r I suppose this advice applies to most computer repair places, but be sure to know what you're paying for... more

A sure bet! 7/4/2007

Dropped off a non-booting computer with New York Computer Help and got my computer back the same day at a reasonable cost. Fast, cheap, and great quality. One of their techs even took time afterwards to show me my computer and make sure I was comfortable and satisfied with the results. Definitely a sure bet! Pros: Fast, qualified, reasonable cost more

Viruses are forever gone from my PC! 5/4/2007

I couldn't turn on my Dell. Didn't know why. Brought it to New York Computer Help's West Side branch - got friendly service, able to drop it off and return after work to pick it up. Now, my baby is working fine again. They got rid of a bunch of viruses that found their way onto my PC. Just wanted to write something to say how the service was exactly what I needed have my system turn on okay again. Pros: Good service, Smart guys more
