A happy tourist who got same-day virus removal repair 12/27/2009

I'm traveling for the week in Manhattan on holiday and the first night after on the Internet, my laptop got infected with a virus. I called around but nobody seemed to be open on Sunday except New York Computer Help. I brought it in and got the stubborn viral infection out in a couple of hours. Now, I'm on my way visiting the sites with my family and didn't lose much time at the computer shop. Thanks!! Pros: quick virus removal Cons: not a storefront that's easy to find more

POOR SERVICE 12/27/2009

They mis-diagnosed my laptop twice (2) and charged me $400 for it. Then the 3rd time was the charm but they did not order the part for the laptop for 13 days. To summarize.. AVOID This place. Pros: Other places to get help Cons: NON more

Very Helpful with setting up my new Windows 7 laptop 12/7/2009

I was so happy to get my new Dell Inspiron with the new Windows 7. I haven't bought a PC in ages and braced for the worst when I called up this tech support place since I always hear horror stories with service companies in general. Well, I'm writing this review b/c i couldn't have been happier with New York Computers Help. The friendly technician copied over my old PC files, set up the new Windows 7 PC, had incredible patience to tweak the new PC to my liking and even jotted down several tips and reminders for doing stuff like printing, emailing, etc. I am forever grateful for this refreshingly different PC service repair and am thus providing my gratitude. Pros: Great training / follow-up after service Cons: Ran 10 minutes late for appointment, but called to notify me more

Reasonable virus removal 11/10/2009

I had a backdoor trojan according to my Norton program and couldn't open up Internet Explorer and my computer was really slow. From the first call to the the computer pickup, these guys were true pros and cared enough to give take-home virus protection tips. The cost was under $100 and the process was straightforward with the free diagnostic where I can choose to go with the service if I want. Good stuff! Pros: Dunkin Donuts is right next door! Yay! more

Quick and painless Mac fix 10/29/2009

My Powerbook Pro wouldn't boot up. They quickly told me the hard drive was dead and was able to recover the files and install the hard drive by the next day for me. I used NYCH for my small office. We have used them for weekly maintenance for the past few weeks, and I'm writing because I tested a few tech companies before them who were always late, slow, and always had to follow up to the same issues over and over. These guys are true professionals - on time, quick, and fix all the issues the first time around. Recovered my files and didn't charge me thousands 4/2/2009

My Gateway desktop crashed and I needed to get some important powerpoint files off for a work presentation. I shopped around and was quoted ridicously - $1,000 minimum at one place and $1,200 - 2,000 at another place. I called this shop, NY Computer Help, and they gave me a free diagnostic and only charged $200! They said they price each job according to the severity of damage. I really don't care what the reasoning - I got my files back and didn't have to go broke! Thanks a bunch! Pros: cheap, same-day Cons: no parking by office more

Fixed my laptop on the spot! 3/27/2009

I'm a student and I needed my laptop fixed asap for an urgent paper. My HP wasn't turning on at all. The tech guy saw I was in a panic and got my laptop fixed in about 5 minutes flat! He did something with the power button and the battery. He prorated the cost since it was so fast. Very fast, and very reasonable. And did I mention I was able to turn in my paper ahead of time. :) Pros: Rapid fast, very friendly Cons: Tough to find more
