Wrong tenant to mess with 9/3/2011

JWC Rentals gets negative 10 stars from my family. I don't even know where to begin. This is the most currupt buisness I have ever personally dealt with!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! SOLDIERS BEWARE!!! I moved into a property managed by them in May 2010. During the move in inspection theie employee took pictures of all the damageto the house. (and I mean alot of damage) She assured me that all of the pictures would be downloaded and be on file for when we moved out of the home. Like an idiot I took her word for it. They are charging me for all the old damage THAT WOULD B ON FILE! They didn't even include the one thing we know was damaged. Just all the old stuff. The grass was brown when we moved in I was told all I had to do was mow the lawn and now they are charging me $1500 for DEAD GRASS! I had to pay for trash removal when we first moved in because they never had the stuff removed like they said. I left trash for city of killeen to pick up from cleaning the yard and the hous more

Great company 5/29/2011

JWC Rentals is a great company. Both as a former tenant myself when I was stationed at Fort Hood and now as a property owner I have found them highly conscientious. They treat tenants firmly but fairly. They do need to obtain approval to make repairs but they refer work orders to me quickly and then take care of the work promptly, usually within a matter of days. It is important to me to keep the properties in good condition - I spend thousands of dollars each year on maintenance and repairs and they do a great job handling the task. They provide excellent reports, respond quickly to questions and requests, and get the proceeds to me in a timely manner. I have done business with them for over 30 years and I recommend them highly. more

DO NOT RENT FROM JWC 5/4/2011

This is the worst management company that I have ever worked with!!! I have lived in NJ and Jersey, so I know what I am talking about. They won't let you sign a 12 month lease, and then they raise the rent every 6 months. It took over a month to get a repair. They didn't inspect the property, so they didn't give me a lease renewal. When I called to ask about the required intent to vacate notice time, they asked about my lease, and they didn't disclose anything more. I received a bill for going month-to-month. I had never requested it. So, when I went to the office, they told me that they had not done their required inspections, and that I needed to sign the new lease... which was 50 dollars more a month. REALLY? I was broken into and I had to pay for the repairs to the windows. This is just the worst company, REALLY!!! I am not going to move out of Killeen, but I am moving out a JWC managed property. They have to realize that we the renters are paying them, NOT the people that are lett more

don't fix problems 11/1/2010

When we looked at house there was some problems like door missing off bed room tiles missing in shower and more. They said no problem we will get right on it and fix them. so we signed a lease 6 mts later nothing is fixed. I fixed the toilet so we could us it! I put some calk over the missing tile so the wall would not rot and fall down ( still stinks of mold) . I moved the laundry door to bed room. Many calls and fix orders nothing done. We are not renewing lease will write more if there is problems when we leave.\r After reading some of these I think that a lot of the positive ones are fake put in by employees. They all read the same " a little slow on repairs but great" BS I use to work for a motel that would have the emplyees sign on and counter bad reviews. more

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS PLACE 10/22/2010

If u are thinking of doing any kind of business with these people DON'T DO IT! This place is all about money, and LIES! Do not waste your time with this place. When you move out they will find anything they can to have you pay for it. They don't care about the properties they just rent them out and make money off of them!! Any residential or commercial property must be taken care of from both a physical and a tenant-relations standpoint, and that is what a property manager does. He maintains and upgrades facilities while acting as liaison between the two. BUT JWC does none of the above. If your a property manager you shouldn't rent out owners homes that don't have funds for repairs. Especially when the rent is paid on time EVERY MONTH.The manager is the biggest LIAR there! He will look you right in your face and lie like it's nothing. But if you get a chance to see this guy look at his teeth.... and if he don't take care of them, how can he take care of someone's property! Right now more

BEWARE! 9/11/2010

TERRIBLE! This place is not good and does not care about their tenants. If you make the mistake of renting from these folks be sure to get everything documented. If they promise you they will redo the floors, make sure its in your lease or it will not happen. Also be sure to do a very thorough walkthrough and mark everything on their sheet before you move in or else they will charge you for it when you move out. I would recommend taking photos of the house, be very thorough, before you move in to have some backup when they try to fault you for damages that existed before you moved in. SOLDIERS BEWARE!!! more

Absolutely Horrible...Do Not Do Business with this Company 8/31/2010

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone in the area unless they want extra stress in their lives. My husband is military which consist of us having to move around a lot. We decided to go with this company because someone had provided us some places in the area. They didn't know anything about these companies and in all honesty I wish I had done my research before getting involved. We rented a beautiful home from them for 2 years. Everytime I had to deal with these people it was a project. You put work orders in and wait 8 months even longer at times for stuff to get fixed. Than when you move out they give you a list of what needs to be completed before. I respected that even after them trying to screw me out of 2K for pet fees that they swear we didn't pay when we moved in. Now a month after being at our new duty station we get a letter stating we aren't going to get any of our security despoit back and that we owe them almost 800 dollars. We did not live like slobs or destroy the home. In fact we did our best to put the home back in the condition that we recieved it in. They tried charging me for things I had done or items that were that way before hand. I called to deal with these people and tell them that I would be more than willing to pay for what we rightfully owed but they still insist on charging me for items. And if you don't pay it...it will go to your credit report. It's unreal. Not only that you can only laugh everytime you go through the front door to their new building and see a sign stating they were rated number 1 for Customer Service....HA yeah right! I even feel sorry for recommending a friend to use them before we started having problems because they ended up having problems with them as well. This company doesn't care about it's customers or rating...they just feel that they can screw civilian and military families. I wasn't going to give them a rating but it wouldn't allow me to post this without it..so the one star is for the nice home we got through them...but I do truely feel sorry for any home owners who even have them managing your property. more

JWC..... do not rent from them. They couldn't care less about you, which they proved with this being our third day without AC in 100+ degree weather! It's not worth it. Apartment quality is poor as well! more

Renting from jwc currently, and will not make this mistake again. I was told many things would be repaired in the few weeks following my move-in. Nothing has been repaired yet. I went to the company to put in a work order for the repairs. I was informed that the holes in my wall and the missing ceiling in my garage were not priority and would take a while to repair. Also, that i should fix the broken/missing tiles infront of the fireplace. Why would i fix them?- i was told the company would repair these things. Save yourself the time and hassels, and find another rental company to rent from. I have heard so many bad stories, i am dreading moving out of here because i am afraid of what "charges" i will receive. more

RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK! 8/10/2010

ok heres my story,the house ive been renting from jwc has become uninhabitable,the roofs leak,we have termites,the carpet is stained beyond repair,the walls are filthy,our oven comes on by itself,the fridge is rusted out and has mole,there is black mold everywhere,and the other day i found rat feces next to my water tank and the dishwasher breaks not to mention the completely dated appliances.when i moved in the house smelled like dog urine and a meth lab mixed together,it took 3 days to air out the place and have it professionally steam cleaned.i have made request after request to get tings fixed and they either half fix it or just dont show up,and then they try to bully me into paying fees so they have the money to fix things,and my lease says i can have a dog as long as i pay a pet fee,i did and i bought a 600 dollar dog and guess what,after i made repair requests they told me i had to get rid of the dog and pay more fees for 'violating my lease agreement. so now im out 800 dollars more

Jwc Property Management is THE WORST EVER 10/14/2009

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. THEY DONT FIX REPAIRS, THEY LIE LIE LIE. I would never recommend them to my enemy. The ladies in the front are nice, but m,anagement is rude and money hungry, and dont wanna do their job,and when u CONFRONT management WITH QUESTIONS , the real nasty angry man or woman will appear.. I DONT HAVE A PET,MY MOM HAS A TINY DOG SHE KEEPS IN HER PURSE, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME 2,395 FOR A PET THATS NOT MINE AND RARELY COME OVER BUT JUST SO HAPPEN WHEN THEY DID AN INSPECTION MY MOM WAS THERE AND THEY TOOK A PICTURE OF HER WITH HER DOG, I TRIED TO EXPLAIN. THEY WERE NOT TRYING TO LISTEN. MY GATE BROKE TO MY BACKYARD AND THE CITY CITED THEM FOR IT CUZ MY 3 YR OLD HAD A BLOW UP POOL IN THE BACKYARD, JWC REMOVED THE POOL BUT NEVER FIXED MY GATE. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THEM TO COURT. more

Jwc Property Management is AWEFUL! 7/28/2009

JWC is terrible. We scheduled a housing inspection August 1 back on July 13th. They called on July 28th to tell me that we couldn't have our housing inspection on August 1st because it was a Saturday- duh like they seriously didn't figure that out when they wrote it on the calendar right in front of me when I was standing in their office. We are not moving in until the middle of August and my sister in law is doing the inspection for me and she works M-F. These people are full of crap. When we went to sign the lease they tried to make us sign a statement saying that we were only allowed one animal even though it clearly says we are allowed two. They refused to correct it until we asked to speak w/ a manager. This company is aweful! Do not let them be responsible for your house and do NOT rent from them they are terrible!!!!! more

Negative Experience 3/31/2009

I work in a field which requires relocation every few years, so I have dealt with numerous landlords and property managers and know the difference between the good and the bad. When I had my pre-move in inspection, I showed up at the scheduled time. The inspector had showed up early and walked through without me. She handed me a copy of the paperwork, told me I could walk through myself and to bring the paperwork by if there were any other discrepancies, and got in her car and left me there in the driveway. When I found several stains, cracks and holes around the house and brought the amended list into the JWC office, the manager told me I would have to schedule another inspection and pay a reinspection fee, even though the inspector did not give me a chance to walk though with her the first time. JWC was extremely slow at responding to maintenance requests. They said it was because the property was still under warranty with the builder and therefore the contractor had to send someone more

They are THE WORST! 12/18/2008

JWC is not only the worst company to rent from, they are the worst company to manage your property! They do not do as they are supposed to at all. The only reason I found out that the tenants were vacating the property is because I received a notice from the city of Killeen mailed to me in Kentucky citing me for not having my grass cut. This is the job of the property management to keep up with. This is when I found out that JWC took the tenants to court (without my knowledge) and that the tenants were leaving. When I went to Killeen to check on the property, there was a notice on our door saying someone was using water illegally, dated for Oct. 30 and I went to the property on Nov. 9th! When I picked up my keys from the property, Mr. Alleman the accountant told me that there are a great many property owners that were not happy with JWC because they were not doing their job. Then he turns around and lies in a letter to the Better Business Bureau that the funds I sent to fix everything more

Good company, friendly people. 8/17/2008

We rented from JWC for nearly 3 years and except for some slow response on repair issues we didn't have any problems. The staff is friendly and helpful although sometimes rushed. When we moved we were only charged for a couple of things that we had done and got the majority of our deposit back promptly. We would recommend them to anyone wanting to rent from a reputable company in the Fort Hood area.\r \r Rusty more

JWC Worst Place I Ever Lived 5/12/2008

I'm a Soldier who had just come back from deployment to Iraq. I moved into my JWC house and found holes in my carpet in the living room and in the master br. Also, a broken "john" in the master bath, a broken dishwasher in the kitchen, the walls in the bedrooms were horribly painted with the old paint bleeding though, and bugs in the living room. We'll just say I wasn't pleased. When I called to get it fixed, no one ever showed up. I fixed the john myself because we had to use it. No one ever called us back about the dishwasher or the bugs. \r \r No, here's the kicker. I moved out because I couldn't take it and JWC's employees acted like I was cancer. They treated my wife and myself like dirt and hasseled us over everything. \r \r The ladies that work in the front office, great people. The managers, the worst. Rude, egotistical jerks. \r \r This is how JWC treats the Soldiers of our country. more

Great Company to rent from 10/7/2007

JWC RENTALS is a GREAT company to rent from in the Fort Hood Area. I have rented from them twice over the least six years and both times was treated well. They are friendly, fair, and work hard to do the right thing for both the tenants and the property owners. If you tear something up or leave the property in bad condition, you will pay for your screw up, but they are fair, honest, and friendly. I recommend them to anyone wanting a good, honest company to rent from in the Fort Hood Area. more
