Dangerous Establishment!!! 9/16/2010

Although this has been brought to the attention of the management on several occasions and they have brought it to the attention of their staff, nothing has been done about the situation. more

It's #1 for a reason 9/16/2010

I love this place, every time someone new comes into town, This is one of the first stops I like to take them too. It's what people think of when they think of ""NY Pizza"". I only wish they start using creditcards, because it does get a little annoying having to stop by the local ATM and get cash all the time. more

Tourist trap - what pizza?! 9/8/2010

Any travel sites about NYC, Lombardi's is a highly recommended place to go. Featured at Food Network, Travel Channel, etc, so my family gave it a try. While waiting we overheard a group of people that just came out of the restaurant said that the pizza taste horrible. So we thought....hmmm we'll find out. Got called, seated, ordered, and to our surprise the taste of the Pizza is not what we have expected - no taste! Just confirms what we overheard. It's a tourist trap!!!! Will not go back again. There are MANY other pizza places around NYC better and reasonably priced than Lombardi's. more

Pizza Lovers Beware 8/10/2010

Okay, first off a warning isn't always a bad thing. more

Best Pizza Ever 7/31/2010

This is the best pizza I have ever had, and I have literally traveled from Providence to NYC just to head to Lombardi's. Skip the appetizers and just get two pies..so worth it! Pros: Delicious food, excellent quality and prices more

oh wow 7/19/2010

I mean even if you don't like pizza that much you have to try this pizzeria... cuz was the FIRST ONE!!! Pros: first pizza more

LOMBARDI'S PIZZA: YUK! 7/2/2010

Sorry to be so down on this place. Its just that I've had way better pizza at a few different places in NYC. This place was touted as one of the finest and even got good ZAGAT ratings. The pizza though was pretty bland with a sauce that was bitter tasting. Maybe traditional pizza has its place (somewhere) but as far as NYC style pizza...this one earned the YUK award. Ray's pizza on 11th St & 6 Ave is a great tasting pizza that caters more to the NYC taste. They have many original Rays Pizza but to me, the Original Ray's is is the one! I've going to Rays in the Village for over 40 years. Don't bother getting any toppings..the plain old cheese will convince you. I'll never eat at Lombardi's. Lombardi's: thumbs down! Pros: Nice looking restaurant Cons: Lot of hype but the pizza was pretty tasteless more

Great Pizza, Tourist Trap 6/25/2010

I went here because I had a friend visiting from out of town. more

Excellent Pizza Destination 6/10/2010

After living in NYC for 4 years, I finally made it to Lombardi's! I was a little afraid this is a tourist trap but since I was nearby, I figured why not. One less to do list on my bucket list. So their menu is simple and straightforward. They have small and large sizes of pies and then you can choose your own toppings. We ordered the large pie with 3 toppings, pepperoni, meatball and garlic spinach. It came about 20 minutes after we ordered but it was worth waiting for! The pie crust is crunchy and chewy at the same time. The toppings work well together with the mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce and I just couldn't stop eating! I am glad i came on a week night when I don't have to fight with tourists; what a great pizza to try. Pros: Great Pizzas Cons: Service was OK more

Excellent pizza 6/3/2010

The pizza here is excellent, both the white and the regular with different toppings. We tried the clam pie as well - it was passable or maybe we were already too full to really appreciate it. Pros: pizza Cons: wait, atmosphere more

Pretty good pizza....and authentic! 5/10/2010

This place is pretty good. I enjoyed my pizza but I've had better. Pros: Pretty good food...pizza...appetizers....Vanilla Sodas! Cons: Not the best I've ever had. more

Authentic Italian Pizza 4/15/2010

I have been ordering Lombari's Pizza and salads for many years. Not one disappointment in all that time. Pros: Delicious Pizza, Great Staff Cons: No credit cards for delivery more

Classic NY Pizza 4/12/2010

Lombardi's is at the top of my list of places to bring out- of-towners. Their impressive claim of being the ""First Pizzeria in the United States"" definitely has a nice ring to it! The wait to get in can be long so put your name on the list and take a nice stroll around the neighborhood while you wait. Rice to Riches across the street is a nice timesaver pre-Lombardi's or post-Lombardi's for dessert. I really like their standard fresh mozzarella pizza especially since it was my first taste into the fresh mozzarella/tomato/basil pizza world. We used to have these pizzas delivered to work down on Fulton Street as part of our weekly lunch. A few of my friends are Grimaldi's die-hards but I think it's also because they're biasedly Brooklyn. more

sooo overrated 4/2/2010

Ok, the pizza is not that good. And im not just bitter, it really isnt that good. Nick's pizza in Forest Hills is very similar in style, but much better, and nowhere near as pricey. It does not look authentic inside, and the staff is completely average. Most importantly, its way overpriced, because of all the random hype and tourists. Pros: hardly any Cons: food average, not cute inside more

Best Pizza in New York!! 3/8/2010

Make a pilgimage every time I'm in the Big Apple. The crust is always perfect, and the toppings are of the highest quality. The fresh basil lifts the whole flavour experience. Not expensive either! Pros: Food and Atmosphere Cons: A long queue but worth the wait more

over rated 3/3/2010

The service is not good at all.Its as if the owners let the place run its self. The owners need to be there.Pizza is a 5 scale of 10.Sorry to say Pros: Nice location Cons: Dirty looking more

Margherita Pizza was Great! 2/21/2010

We were doing a self-guided walking tour of Little Italy when we happened across Lombardi's. Several people had pointed out that it was the standard for NYC Neapolitan pizza so we stopped in.\r \r We ordered the standard, a Margherita pizza. It arrived and was indeed wonderful! The crust was nice and thin and the mozzarella tasted amazing. We could see why Lombardi's has been around for so long - they really know what they're doing with pizza. more
