Fair prices and good service! 4/9/2011

When I came home from work my apartment door was unlocked, I don’t live in the safest neighborhood so even though I didn’t see anything was missing I knew I wouldn’t feel safe if I didn’t change the locks. I called this company and they told me they would send someone right away to rekey my lock. The prices were fair and I didn't even have to change the entire lock in the end. more

The Best Ever 6/29/2009

I absolutely love Lombardi's pizza. No one other pizza shop can compare to their pizza. There is just something about it that makes me want to eat the whole pizza myself! more

Perfect Pizza 7/17/2007

My friends and I were just walking through the city and we passed by Lombardi's and decided to check it out, because it seemed like a great spot for some pizza, and we were right! The pizza was amazing, It is a bit pricey, but it is in the city, and you definitely get what you pay for. The crust is thin and delicious and the cheese and tomato sauce is perfect, no complaints, its just an overall great experience at Lombardi's!! Anyone should definitely check it out. more

Amazing NYC Pizza 11/22/2006

Lombardi's claims to be the first pizzeria to open in NYC. Lots of places around here claim authenticity like that, but this one really tastes great too! Tomato sauce usually makes or breaks it for me, and this one is not sweet, but rich and tastes like a tomato! They use big chunks of mozzarella cheese, not shreds, and basil is a staple on all of their pizzas. The salad is also great, big enough to share between two people, and they make their own vinaigrette. The restaurant has a charming, old New York feel, complete with red and white checkered tablecloths. The service is fast and friendly too. There's usually a wait around dinner time, but I thought the pizza was worth it. The menu is pretty basic though: pizza, salad, calzones, beer...that's about it. Check it out: http://www.lombardispizza.com/pages/1/index.htm more

I love Lombardi's! 6/23/2006

If you're in the mood for pizza that is delicious and doesn't make you feel guilty for eating 3 slices, I highly recommend this place. They expanded a few years ago but getting bigger hasn't affected their quality. You will definitely wait for a table if you go on the weekends and lunch time, but I have found great success in going during off hours - i.e. a late lunch or early dinner. A typical night will find you rubbing elbows with neighborhood folks, tourists and business men on their lunch hour. In addition to their pizzas, they also have a decent appetizer selection. I personally like the mozzerella and tomato plate, but considering how huge the portions are, you probably don't need it. more

Great Pizza! 4/1/2006

Fresh melted mozzarella, great toppings, great location; Lombardi's Pizza is one of the few places in New York City that uses fresh mozzarella and a coal oven. There are always lines of people outside, waiting to get a little slice of cheese heaven. The clam pie is a must try; although it sounds a little unusual, it is surprisingly good. When you go, make sure you bring more than one other person with you, it's hard to finish a pie between only two people!! more

Great Pizza, So-so prices 9/23/2005

The pizza here is some of the finest you'll have. It's delicious thin crust with an amazing sauce and fresh cheese. It's pretty expensive, though, so it might not be worth the difference in price between a normal pie and one from Lombardi's. They have a coal burning oven in the back, so it's definitely the real thing. I lot of my friends swear that this is the best pizza in the entire universe. I'm not sure about that, but it's definitely worth trying at least once. more

Best in Manhattan 9/1/2005

I prefer Grimaldi's, but if the trek to Brooklyn is too much, Lombardi's is probably the best in Manhattan. more

Easily the best pizza in Manhattan 8/22/2005

The pies here are large, affordable, and incredibly tasty. For an interesting change, try the fabulous meatball pie. Fresh garlic can be added to any pie for free, but make sure you have some Altoids in your pocket! Enjoy the autographed photos of celebrities who have dined at Lombardi's, and sneak a peak at the 1905 brick oven if you walk back to use the restrooms. The best time to go is at lunchtime -- busy evenings might find you waiting for up to an hour for a table. The only reason Lombardi's gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because they serve generic RC Cola, which just doesn't go well with pizza! You can ask for a can of Coke or Pepsi instead, but don't expect refills! more

Best Pie 8/21/2005

There is much debate over the best pie in the city. Lombardi's is up there. My personal favorite is their pizza with olives. They use Calamatta olives rather than those crappy black olives you get at most pizza joints. The restaurant is an old school throw back pizza joint--nothing to write home about but you can always count on getting a great pie. more

Pizza perfection from a coal oven 8/20/2005

The coal oven makes the difference. There are only a few pizzerias that have coal ovens and what a difference it makes. The crust is so tasty and the sauce and cheese are extremely fresh. The meatballs are very good, but usually I order it plain - that is my favorite. If you are visiting NY, you should check out the pizza here, even if you have to make a special trip to Soho for it. Whether hot, or cold the next day, this pizza is the best in New York City. more

Coal Oven Pizza!!! 8/19/2005

Lombardi's is the only pizzeria that serves its pizza by the tradition coal oven. A few years ago, it was just a small pizzeria with long lines of customers waiting outside for a table. Now, Lombardi's has bought out the next door lot and transformed it to a beautiful Italian pizzeria! Surrounded by large glass windows, the exterior is gorgeous, adorned with pots of flowers and burgundy wood. Walking by, you can see all the people inside enjoying their pizza. Even though it has gotten much larger, there are still long lines waiting outside to get in! One thing about Lombardi's is that you can't order by the slice but by the pie so be sure to bring a few people that can help you devour it all! more

Fantastic 8/19/2005

Lombardi’s Pizzeria on Spring St is by far the best pizza you will ever have in your life. Apparently, everyone else agrees with me because in every ranking that I have seen, this pizzeria is ranked as the best in New York City and the world as well. If you’ve never had pizza from here, you’re depriving yourself. Only complaints are that they don’t sell by the slice. more

Best Pizza 8/16/2005

This place has the best pizza in New York city. I'm not even opining there, because it has been rated the best for as long as I can remember. You can't live in New York without trying pizza form Lombardis. The only downsides to this place are that it is ridiculously expensive and that it doesn't sell pizza by the slice. Even with that though, its worth the high price and if you buy a pie, its 8 times the pleasure. more

Best Pizza! 8/11/2005

One of the best pizza. I think there's still the debate as to where the first pizza was created and Lombardi's one of them, but it doesn't matter who created it first because the pizza here is delicious. It even offers free fresh garlic to top on the pizza. This is a plus for garlic lovers. The crust is just right I think they still use the old brick oven or something. i order just the regular style pizza, but they offer pizzas such as clam. Lines can be long often out to the store, but it is a gem. more

Perhaps the best pizza you will ever taste 2/16/2005

As someone who came to New York from San Francisco, I sometimes think that the Big Apple has an inflated vision of itself in terms of food. But when it comes to pizza, New York is indeed king (sorry Chicago and New Haven). And when people talk about the best New York pizza it usually comes down to a choice between Lombardi's and Grimaldi's. For me, Lombardi's is the winner. Of course, the service there is not that great, usually hovering somewhere between indifferent and rude. But there is a simple reason for that: they know it doesn't matter. You're going to go back regardless. more
