I finally received a response from my complaint with the Ohio Veterinary Board. They were sent an advisory alert letter and were told that they should have done a radiology test ...

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/16/2014

Two weeks ago today we lost our beloved canine family member. He suffered from a number of things, and was being seen by Dr.Lang. We struggled with his extreme anxiety and pain in his knees and hips. We watched his personality change over the last year and watched the number of medications bottles grow. He was 7. When hypothyroidism was confirmed with a blood test the meds helped a little but did little to help all his problems in general. The next time we saw Dr. Lang and informed him of Elliott's condition, he said our only options were Prozac and behavioral therapy. Our decision was made and it was not to add one more med to the list and behavioral therapy for an anxiety issue was not the answer. When I told Dr. Lang we made the heart wrenching decision to have him put to sleep and stop the suffering he became a different person. We were shown a cold, impersonal side I couldn't imagine in these circumstances. I had other family members there for support and one of the other office employees mentioned to them that Dr. Lang has a problem with Euthanasia procedures. Not exactly what one wants to hear. I didn't need my hand held or to cry on his shoulder but a kind word or some reassurance we believed what we were doing was right would have been nice. We have had multiple dogs over 57 years and have had to go through this part of life before but have never run into this kind of person for a veterinarian. I'm writing this so all those who will have to do this, will never have the memory of the loss of there pet coupled with the memory of the poor \r behavior of the Dr. involved. My hope for Dr. Lang is that with maturity will come compassion, but it won't be on the learning curve of my family, friends and neighbors furry loved ones. more

Manager for Harts Animal Hospital 7/25/2013

Dear Ms Wendy K\r Thank you for your input in regards to your experience. We are very sorry that you feel this way and would like to discuss this matter with you more so that we can address this situation so please call the hospital and ask for our manager. We strive to provide the best in care for your companion. Our doctors would never try and schedule an unnecessary surgery just for money and we are very careful about doing any surgery on senior animals because of the risks involved. We also don't understand your last comment in regards to results and disputing charges. Our doctors call all our clients with the blood work results and this is usually done a day or two after a client was in. Again we appreciate bringing this to our attention and we are sorry about your experience. Dr Hart is amazing, we agree, and that is why she works 3 days a week at the hospital. Again we work very hard to provide the best medicine and compassion to all our clients and their family members. more

Wendy K 7/10/2013

Dr. Hart is amazing. Unfortunately she sold the business and only works there two days a week. I stayed with her through moving further away because of her love of animals. The new owners wanted to perform surgery on an 11 year old German Shepard for the money. We got an inky feeling and took her for a second opinion. She needed to go on prescription dog food and a heavier dose of antibiotics. No surgery necessary. How dare they want to risk my dogs life for a quick buck. Btw they wanted to charge $1400 for surgery, new vet was going to charge $350 until they saw test results and said it was unnecessary. Also a nightmare trying to get test results for blood, urine and x-rays. Only received after threatening to dispute charges. If I can see they have been done than they must not have been right. more

Dr. Rebecca Hart in NORTH ROYALTON! 11/4/2011

Dr. Rebecca Hart and her staff are the BEST bar none. They are the most compassionate, most efficient, most dedicated people ever. Please people, remember there happen to be TWO Dr. Harts, so when you write a review, make sure you're which Dr. Hart you are writing about. Dr. Rebecca Hart and her staff in North Royalton are beyond reproach. I've never known a staff so dedicated to helping animals. I refuse to go anywhere else. Keep up the phenomenal work, Dr. Hart! We love you guys!!! more

We started using Dr. Hart on the reccomendation of a friend...we had been petless for a few years and really didn't love our previous vet. We LOVE Dr. Hart! She has always been professional with us and loving with our pets. I do have to say yes she has a very busy office, but other then nuetering and spaying we have never had a long wait to get in. Her office staff has always been great to us also. I feel very fortunate to have found her and her staff. more

I wouldn't go there if you paid me!! 6/11/2011

SERIOUSLY!!!! I'm just wondering how she got the people to write good reviews! Smells like a pay off to me! This woman is unprofessional, dirty and money hungry! HELLO PEOPLE!!!! Don't you watch the news?? This is the same vet that gave a dog third degree burns 3 1/2 years ago, uses expired medication and charges YOU for pain medication that your suffering pet never gets! She has NUMEROUS complaints filed against her & she is still a vet!! If she was a medical Doctor she would have lost her license years ago! For those of you that "work" for her the fact that she made you write good reviews makes me sick!! Her Animal Hospital is FILTHY!! Guess what guys thats the REAL reason they don't let anyone back there! I insisted after they wanted to keep my puppy overnight and they refused! But, guess what?? I opened the door anyway...... DISGUSTING!!!! My co-worker kept taking her dog to the office on Memphis and didn't know why after 4 visits and hundreds of tests and dollars later her dog more

Mrs. Ely 4/21/2011

My parents and my family of animals have been seeing Dr. Hart for years. I actually spent sometime working for her one summer in my younger days. Dr. Hart has the biggest heart in the industry!! She takes wonderful care of my parent's crew of misfits. And is absolutely wonderful especially when it comes to my twin terrors. She is the only vet who gets down on the floor to see by big dogs. It is always a pleasure to see her. Rates are beyond fair. Some times I may sit on hold, but if you have ever been behind the scenes at this place you would understand. The phone never stops ringing. The boarding is always packed. There is always something going on!! She never turns any one away ever! She has been through a lot with me and my family over the years from the passing of my Bision last year to the horrible accident with a car that took my Clairise! She is always wonderful. When Sugar died she cried with me. Sugar had been seeing Dr. Hart since she was a pup and was actually the reason why more

The Best!!!! 4/11/2011

I have been using Dr. Hart for about ten years. I will never use another vet again. My first cat was 13 when he got really sick. Dr. Hart was very determined to get him on the road to health. While he did recover from being so sick, he lost function in his back legs within three months, and I had to put him down anyway. I remember how sad she was to do it. You'd think that a vet would have to be hardened to that, but it just showed her love of animals. My second cat went into renal failure about five years ago. While he has been living with chronic renal failure for about five years, his kidneys suddenly crashed a few months ago. While he was at her office for a week (and at her home with her over the weekend), he is now home and doing fantastic. We go back to check his numbers every month and a half, and he is doing great. She has never mislead me as to what it going on with him, and if I asked a direct question about the severity of his situation, she was honest and caring more

Thank you for your honesty 4/8/2011

I think you'll find this review a bit different than your typical review because I actually work for Dr Hart. I want to thank all of you for taking the time to comment on our services because the feedback can be eye opening. For all of you that love the care that Dr Hart provides-thank you. She goes above and beyond to deserve that kind of respect. For those of you who haven't had the experience with her that you had hoped, please try to realize that she has dedicated her life to you and the care of your pet. She has chosen to work 14 hours a day and never takes a day off even when she doesn't feel well. On top of that, she takes your critically ill pets home with her at night and gives up hours of sleep to care for them throughout the night. And, on top of that, she has an after hours pager service for emergencies so she has people waking her up.As you can imagine, people abuse this priveledge too and call with issues that are not emergencies. She's earned the right to have an off day more

Very Caring Vet 1/7/2011

I'm going to basically do two separate reviews here one for Dr. Hart herself and another for her staff.\r \r Dr. Hart is a very caring and knowledgeable veterinarian and I have been very happy with the care that she has given my two dogs since we have started seeing her about 6 months ago. You can definitely see that her compassion for the animals is genuine. She is also very easy to talk to and willing to answer any and all questions without hesitation.\r \r Her staff is another thing. It seems rare anyone there, especially the receptionist, seems to be in a good mood. In fact I have been treated very rudely on several occasions. I understand that things get stressful when it gets so busy at such a small office but you need to be professional enough to not let the clients see that. It's not just when they are busy either because I have called in the morning on a weekday and I've also been spoken to very curtly for asking a simple question or just scheduling an appointment! There's just no more

GREAT VET! 1/6/2011

I have been taking my animals all 3 dogs and 3 cats to Dr. Hart for years. And I would not TRUST my animals to any other vet! Yes she is busy and sometimes you have to wait, but when you have those prices and such good care you will have that. She ALWAYS has shown gentle care towards my animals even when they aren't beening so friendly to her! more

Dr. Rebecca Hart is a great veternarian 11/13/2010

Dr. Hart has been a wonderful veternarian that our family has used for 10+ years. She has always been very thourough with all of my dogs over the years.. She is very knowledgable and her staff have always been very helpful. If I call her office with questions she always returns my call the same day. I can't say enough good things about her. I have referred other families to her as well and everyone has been very pleased with her and her staff!!! more

Must have all the clients they need! 10/12/2010

I was looking for a Vet for my 7 month old puppy. I had been referred to Dr Hart's Animal Hospital so I called to get an idea about pricing. The woman who answered the telephone was very rude and cold. She stated that since we would be new to the practice, we would have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for an appointment, as their current clients come first and maybe we should look elsewhere. Thank goodness I didn't waste any money on Dr Hart!. I sure hope the doctor knows how poorly her staff is treating people calling into her practice. I wouldn't give this office any rating at all! more

Please take your pet to Dr. Hart 9/25/2010

After years of trying several veterinary clinics around the Cleveland area, we finally found Dr. Hart.\r We have run the gamut, from unsanitary chop shops to ridiculously priced spa clinics.\r It was our friends' high praise of Dr. Hart that initially led us to take our beloved dog to Dr. Hart, for her consultation and recommendation for treatment options for oral osteomelanoma. At first meeting, Dr. Hart sat face to face with our 90 pound rottweiler/ lab, and proceeded to poke round his mouth. I knew right then, that this was our vet.\r We were advised to follow up with an oncologist. The radiation treatments saved our dog's life. Now, more than a year later,\r our aging boy immediately lost function and mobility in his hindquarters. A paraplegic 90 pound rottweiler without bowel or bladder control is a frightening prospect. Especially when the front half is still our alert boy who we love so much.\r Dr. Hart suggested that steroids may reduce inflammation and pressure affecting spi more

Dr Hart & staff are the best 7/30/2010

I have been going to Dr Hart for over 8 years now. I do not have one complaint. Dr Hart is always friendly and kind. Takes her time to answer all of your questions. My dog was recently very sick and Dr Hart and her staff were wonderful. My family and I can not give enough thanks. She called every day to check and see how things were going until the last breath my dog took. Where are you going to find someone that cares that much? The staff all knew my dog by name and gave her kisses and love until her last breath. I would highly recommend her. As for the negative reviews.... people are busy.....when I go to the doctor no one smiles at me.. I am just another number so boo on you. Pros: kind and caring Cons: none more

Remarkable Outcome! 6/29/2010

I went to Dr.Hart's Animal Clinic and it was Sunday Morning June 20th at 1:00am.\r I had both of my 4 month old mountain curs that was very lathargic and sick. They examined them and found out that they both had fevers and some form of Parvo after doing tests and that they would have to stay there for treatments.I was scared of loosing them after hearing the news but, Dr.Hart and her Staff reassured me and my family that they would take care of them and with hope they would come out of it.\r I let her know of my financial crisis and she still told me that they would work with me on a payment plan and that they are not going to give them any less treatment because of this.\r I left there and for the next few days I called every 2 hours checking up on there progress and I appologized to the staff for being such a pain but they never was disrespectfull or mean. They understood that these dogs are our family members and we was worried. Telling me they didnt mind that we could call a more

My mean cat. 6/22/2010

I really like taking my 2 dogs and cat to Dr. Hart. She is always warm and welcoming. She does a superb job when it comes to my mean cat. My cat needs to be sedated so she can shave off her hair and Dr. Hart does a wonderful job with her. I'm always pleased when I pick my cat up. And so is my cat. Dr. Harts rates are very very fair.. I've called around and the quotes I got were totally outrageous. Dr. Hart is a wonderful, caring vet. I even recommended her to my friend who has 3 dogs. I will always go to Dr. Hart with my pets.. Never will I change. Denise Tenorio more

Karla 4/22/2010

I have been taking all my pets to Dr. Hart for the past 13 yrs. In response to the reviewer that thought the staff was unfriendly, what you are mistaking for lack of friendliness is just being very busy. They are super busy, but do a very thorough job. If they were to take the time to stop and chat with each pet owner, they would not have the time to care for the many animals they see each day.\r \r Dr Hart has been sensitive and caring to my animals. She will give advice and take the time needed to correctly diagnose the problem. Several of my friends take their animals to Dr Hart and are very appreciative that they have her as a vet. \r \r I can't say enough good things about her and her staff. If I were ever to move, I feel it would be tough to find anyone who compares with them. Accept the fact that they are busy and very business- like and will give your pet the benefit of having a very competent place to go when they are ill. (The DNA testing is very accurate, btw. I am a mo more

Read the negative reviews...they are right! 2/9/2010

I went to Dr. Hart because of the rave reviews i read when I Googled Vet clinics. I did see 1 or 2 negative but it seemed the positive outweighed them....so I disregareded what they had to say. Well, I TOTALLY AGREE with the negative reviews. I went out of my way to take our stray adolescent dog to see her. I was not impressed at all and frankly, I was very disappointed. Right off the bat I was very surprised at the lack of emotion in the staff. Me and doggy were the only ones in the office...and we had never been there before so we were a new face....yet no smiles. No smiles from the the tech or even the doctor as they walked in and out of the waiting room. Not even so much as a hello....slight smile....not even eye contact. Here we are....NEW patient, cute doggy and Not a single reaction. I made a comment to the receptionist (who was the friendliest out of the bunch) about how "Nobody seems very happy in this place". She looked at me and said they were just busy...well I don' more

She looked at me and said they were just busy...well I don't see anyone else or hear barking....whatever. Never too busy to smile .... just once even. Gosh....Say hi to the dog even. I even made a comment to the tech but she was oblivious. The doctor was fast, not really loving toward my puppy and did not take the time to explain much. Lovely. And this is why I drove over 10 miles past other Vet clinics? The doctor did not know much about dog breeds....just saying "He could be anything' and just wanted me to buy the inaccurate DNA test. How about a "Guess"? I asked her 3 times.... Thanks a lot. She didn't have much to say about anything really. She has a Doctorate in animals I learned absolutely nothing that I didn't already know. And as to the asthetics? Dr Hart had very dirty fingernails for one....and checked my dogs testes and never once washed her hands or used a no rinse soap. I got the bare necessities and we left. I will pay for my new dog to get a quality assessment somewhere else. Sadly disappointed. Pros: None I can think of Cons: Unfriendly atmosphere, Unprofessional more
