Very disappointed with our trip to Jack 3/18/2012

Very disappointed with our trip to Jack and Grill. The food was over priced and the taste was just OK. Plus they charge for chips and salsa, where 95% of the Mexican restaurants offer this as complimentary. Also, the environment is more akin to a bar, and the overall ambiance was loud and unpleasing. Will not return. more

Expensive and no good 9/7/2011

My friend and I visited on the 6th..we had been there before. We sat on the patio. The table was sticky. After sitting for 10 minutes I got up and went to a little side table and got my own chips and salsa. After we ordered and the food came..mine was cold. I ordered a vege taco salad..my friend a Mexican Hamburger. I also had Margarita and my friend coffee..there was no coffee made so she had to wait. This was early afternoon. My salad came with very little cheese and cold. I had to order more cheese and ordered some green chili just to try and heat it up temp wise. When the bill came it was almost $40 dollars for two lunches. They nickeled and dimed us for EVERYTHING..we both ordered Mexican lunches but they charged us for the salsa for example. I tiny bit of Guac was $2.00 Even though I had to get our own salsa..they charged me for it! I told our Waitress our food was cold and she just said she would tell the Manager. The food was tasteless..the green chili no good and the cheese was processed flavorless at best. Skip this place and go accross the street to the fast food place..Santiago's they have good green chili..hot food and lots of cheese..you can't get a Margarita at Santiagos but you will pay less than half the cost of the meal..which will buy you a whole litre or two of Margaritas at the liquor store to take home later..Skip Jack N Grill..no good..dirty looking and just tastelss. more

Worst Mexican food I have ever had the displeasure to eat 7/25/2011

We visited the 92nd and Sheridan location on 7/23/2011…. Horrid service and the food was barely edible, orders were brought to the table incorrectly prepared. Server was not only inattentive but just flat disappeared until the check was dropped off. I ordered the chimichanga platter with one chicken and one beef chimmi, I got both with chicken. I also ordered it with “Christmas” chili (half red and half green) I got all red. The chicken had zero seasoning and smelled terrible. I cannot comment on the green chili since it was not included as requested. The rice, beans and fried potatoes, which contained scrambled egg bits for some reason, were tasteless. The red chili was unbelievably bitter, grainy and tasted like it had no seasoning and was not fully cooked. The only thing I can say for the food was it had heat. The red chili had a heat level one would expect with average green. I can only guess they are hoping the heat covers up the lack of other seasoning. Run, do not walk, away. more

The biggest burger I've ever seen! 7/23/2011

My boyfriend and I visited Jak-N-Grill last week, the place was packed so we sat outside. the service was great we got our drinks and chips & salsa right away. The only bad thing was they were out of several items such as onion rings, which ofcourse is what I wanted to have.... When we got our food we were very suprised to see this huge burger! it seriously covered over half of the plate and required both hands to eat. our food was very tasty and we had a great lunch for a reasonable price. we will go back if we ever are in the area again more

Very disappointing 7/15/2011

After waiting 30 minutes for a seat I was excited to try this place for the first time. Why else would this place be packed like this? Once our table was ready we were asked about having some queso dip. RESIST! it is velvetta and diced green chile and probably water since it was so runny. We got a burrito and a hamburger. The burger was fine since it had sides with it and you could add some salt and pepper. The burrito on the other hand was among to plainest buritto I have experienced to date. Mexican food has seasoning and this has NONE. Do people really think this is good food? ECK! The prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes, but what about the flavor? more

Disgusting!!!! Never going back. 5/4/2011

I have never eaten food that was that bad. The 2 types of chili were gross and unfortunately they INSIST on smothering everything they make with it. Suprised it wasnt in my drink. Couldnt even taste my food because of the red chili (overpowering and tastes horrible). Yuck. Server was kind of pushy. Will never gone back and I would advise anybody thinking of trying it to stay away. more

Good homestyle food 4/12/2011

After JNG was showcased on Man vs Food I got curious about the burrito which was actually very good. This place is really nice as it offers tasty mexican dishes which don't cost much. This is one of the best places for mexican food because the food quality is excellent, green chili is the best, and the service is pretty okay. more

Food tastes like Formula 409 - Mangement clueless Run Away!! 3/22/2011

When I saw the review about the police being called because someone didn't want to pay for a terrible meal I thought they must be exaggerating, I couldn't believe a manager would be that stupid. I may have misjudged. Sun night @ 7:30 my wife and I decided go to the Westminster JNG since we live about 15 blocks from there. The hostess and seater were dressed like it was laundry day, we were seated in a booth with a 2 foot long tear in the seat and food on the floor all around. We contemplated leaving right then but Denise the server came over and she was very pleasant so we decided to stay. We ordered house margaritas, BLAND!!!!! My wife had the Combo plate #1, I had the carne adobada/bean sopa. Neither meal had much flavor, green chile was thin and tasteless. Then the fun started, the servers started taking the booths across from us apart and cleaning them with 409. Now our food tastes like 409, sadly not an improvement. I went to get the manager and my wife commented to the waiter about the rudeness of doing that while we were eating, he said he had been told to do it by the manager and apologized and stopped. The manager came over and offered to move us, we didn't want to move, we wanted to leave, everything now tasted like 409. He asked what I wanted, I said I want to know what I owe so that I could pay and leave, He said" Okay, Awesome!" I asked him if he thought it was awesome that they had ruined our dinner and we were leaving unhappy. He said that wasn't what he meant but I honestly think he didn't care, his attitude is terrible. He brought our check, comped nothing even though we could only eat half our meals. I commented that I couldn't believe he was charging me $42.00 for our ruined meals and he turned and walked away. The server Denise apologized several times. I tipped Denise well because it wasn't her fault that her manager is an inconsiderate imp with zero customer service skills. We won't go back! more

dont complain|\\\ awful customer service\by cop 3/15/2011

my son and his girlfriend went to store on 94th in westminster, it was a little before closing as he worked long hrs that day. they went to celebrate one year anniversary.. food was too bad to eat had a drink and decided to go elsewhere, manager was asked to delete meals as they were not eaten, and he would pay for drinks, manager said if he took a bite he had to pay my son asked for his credit card and was refused, and manager called police.. police asked no questions of my son or his girlfriend and were issued tickets for disorderly conduct and made to pay 40.00 bill. needless to say complaint filed with watch commander wesrminster police, and credit card disputed, and will be in court more

Eat elsewhere 2/15/2011

I was curious about the 7-pound burrito, as I would imagine many people have been, so I ventured out to the new Jack N Grill on 92nd and Sheridan to see if this monster lived up to its reputation; I was sorely disappointed. Big: yes. Good: NO. Obviously, the forces behind JNG have done something right to be showcased on Man v. Food, so after seeing how the burrito was prepared on the show, I figured I just couldn't lose. Wow, was I wrong. If JNG advertised their burrito as six pounds of seasoned potatoes with a smattering of everything else (by the way, they use a "ham puree" for their meat ingredient not pieces of ham as seen on TV; sorry meat lovers) this burrito would be accurately advertised. I had to send out a scouting party to find the eggs and cheese that typically come in a breakfast burrito and they came up wanting. Are corners being cut to save money? In any event, the burrito was a let down and I will not be ordering it or going back to JNG ever again. Having sat down in their invitingly styled restaurant, the best part about it was the service and the queso. Both were very good, but their food was only a cut or two above Casa Bonita's fare and that stuff is pure prison food. Save your money and head out to a different Mexican restaurant if your want good food or go to JNG if you like big, bland portions and long wait times. more

Jack N' Grill-Littleton 12/21/2010

Very disappointing. Nice facility, nice presentation, but positively mediocre food. Too much bread, not enough condiments, very bland burger. I ordered a cheeseburger but could not find the cheese. I received 1 piece of onion, 1 hugh hunk of lettuce, and not much else. Condiments were served in dollops. I sort of felt like I was at McDonalds, and had to ask for more ketchup and mustard. There are so many other places in town that offer so much more for less. When you peel back the onion, not much substance, just foo-foo. more

Horrible Food - Don't waste your time! 9/10/2010

After seeing this place and it's big burrito on the Man Vs. Food show we drove 1/2 way across the US to take the challenge. The flavor can only be explained as water and potatoes. There was barely any meat at all and I don't think they drained the water from boiling the potatoes as the burrito was almost floating in water. The potatoes weren't even cooked all the way. No amount of sauce or spices could make it have enough flavor to even attempt to eat. On the way out I spoke with the owner about my experience, even stating that we drove 1300 miles for the challenge... he pretty much brushed me off. more

Go Somewhere Else! 8/26/2010

After hearing good things about this place, I decided to check it out. I heard the green chili was rich and good with big chunks of pork, but discovered it was thin and watery with exactly NO chunks of pork. What a disappointment! I tried the 4 mini gorditias, and only the chicken filling was decent. The "breakfast" filling had one little shred of egg and a bunch of potatoes. Boring. The carne adovada was dry and tasteless, and even dunking it in the crappy green chili didn't help. Save yourself some money and disappointment and go somewhere else. more

Don't waste your time! 6/12/2010

After hearing about this restaurant through popular local newspapers and a friend who dined there, I decided to give it a try. While I must say the service was very good and the food was served quickly, the rest of the experience was awful! As I sat there consuming an extremely large breakfast burrito that was essentially flavorless with watery green chili, I could only ask myself ...... what the hell was all the fuss about???? I gazed longingly out the window at Santiagos and wished I had not made such a long trip to give this place a try. Over rated and over priced.... save your money and go across the street to Santiagos, where the chili is always amazing and the prices are great!!! Pros: Service Cons: Food more

so disappointed 4/14/2010

My fiance and I used to love Jack N Grill, we would be there at least twice a month. Recently they changed their food up alittle and it is no longer home cooked yummy goodness. :( on our most recent trip the service was the worst we'd ever had anywhere not to mention there. What the heck happened Jack? We've removed Jack N Grill from our go to list sadly. Now the food is equal to the price YUK!! so sad and disappointed. We will not be going back. Pros: margs are good Cons: where to begin...... more

Foods good, customer service is horrible! 4/12/2010

I love the idea of frequenting a family run business, with fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Unfortunately, Jack N Grill is not well run. After the location on Belleview and SAnta Fe opened, we went several times to try their much talked about burgers. 5 out of 6 times we went they were out of the burgers, buns or both. One time I tried to order several entrees and was told they were also out most of the ingredients needed. This was after waiting half hour for a table. Not worth the wait!! The bar service is super slow and unorganized. The wait staff has always been pretty good, not their fault the management doesn't know how to order for a busy night. Get it together people! There is too much competition out there for my money. Pros: good burgers(when you can get them) Cons: always running out of food, mismanaged, poor bar service more

Excellent Service, Food & Price. DOES accept credit cards! 2/7/2010

I went to Jack N Grill for the first time today and loved loved loved it! I came home to write a review and was shocked at all the ridiculous ranting and misinformation that was posted here. To clarify, Jack N Grill DOES accept credit card, the portions are quite large and my food and service was wonderful!! I look forward to going back for more delicious meals, enjoying the upbeat atmosphere, fantastic service and using my credit card! Go, eat, enjoy!!!! Pros: service, quality and quantity of food, price more

Best burgers in town 1/10/2010

My favorite restaurant. I would eat there everyday except I would become so obese I wouldn't be able to walk. There burgers are best in town and the burritos are also great. Everything is a huge portion and you can't get a better value. Big eaters never leave hungry and average eaters can split an $8 burger or burrito. Green chile is super fresh and perfect hotness (for me at least, might be too hot for some.) Staff has always been incredibly friendly, nice family run business. The awards on the wall tell it all! Pros: Lots of great food for great price more

Bad Bad Bad Customer Service 11/24/2009

We went to lunch for a friend's birthday. After reading the menu we both decided. When my friend got the Relleno Burrito she discovered it had eggs in it. She's allergic to eggs so we looked back at the menu and there was Zero mention of eggs in the burrito. We asked the manager and she was extremely rude and offered to pay for half of the cost of the burrito. I was shocked as I had never been in a restaurant where after we spent $70 on top shelf tequila that they offered to split the cost of the $8 burrito because they screwed up. I will never eat here again which is a shame. Pros: next to a better mexican restaurant Cons: Bad Customer Service more

Bad Tex Mex and even worse customer service!! 11/24/2009

I can tolerate good food and bad service, but this tacky joint has both bad service and awful food. Brings new meaning to the word "Gross." Pros: ???Still Thinking Cons: Bad food, horrible service more
