I have been working out with Matthew (Alegre) at Empower as part of a ""Bootcamp"" workout for over a year and lost 20+ pounds. As I built strength, flexibility and aerobic capacity, I started looking at different classes and programs within Empower. I signed up for a ""Lose Big, Win Big"" challenge, learned about better nutrition and lost 20+ pounds. I then signed up for a running club/seminar with Mike (Babbitt) and lost another 20+ pounds. I signed up for full body massages (Satya is great!) before trailruns and improved my run times.
The net result in one year is 60+ pounds lost, 8"" lost around my waist (40 waist before, now in size 32 jeans), 2+"" lost around neckline, a 37 minute 8K time and the ability to do 25+ chinups and 100+ pushups.
What I like about Empower is that it focuses on the total package -- nutrition, strength, flexibility, aerobic capacity, weight loss and massage. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Have lost 60+ pounds in 9 months
Cons: The $ I have had to spend on new clothes (is that a con?)
