Review content:
I have always been a big believer in the therapeutic benefit of deep tissue massage and have received many great massages. However, I just tried Thai massage for the first time and was blown away. This Eastern style massage has deep roots in the Indian yoga tradition and incorporates passive stretching, acupressure, compression and massage. Satya, the massage therapist at Empower Personal Training, was extremely knowledgable, professional and nothing short of AMAZING. The massage is performed on a thick comfortable mat on the floor with your clothes on and begins with a traditional herbal tea foot bath (so refreshing!). Thai massage lasts at least 90 minutes (which is what I did) but Satya recommends 2 hours. The time flew by and I was wishing it wouldn't end. Unlike the deep tissue table massage that I am used to, Thai massage really gets deeper into the muscles and also works on joints and ligaments - stretching you out and making you feel so good. I have recommended this style of massage and Satya at Empower to everyone I know. Best massage experience I have ever had!
Pros: Knowledgable professional staff / Clean, warm and welcoming facility
