I love this store 10/18/2008

I found everything here! I ordered my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dress, mom's mother of the bride dress etc. I'm about to get married in about a week and everything has been here and ready to go. I have had such a good experience at the store. The people that work there are nice, I never had any problems. I can't wait till next week, I'm getting married!!!! Pros: very elegant store and professional service more

Where I found my dress 10/6/2008

I had a wonderful wedding, beautiful gown, and my pictures were awesome!! I can understand the frantic feeling of things not going right, but come on many of these brides ordered their dress at the last minute. What do you expect??? That's how the manufacturers are, they take forever. As a rule of thumb you really want to give at least 6-8 months to order your dress, and an extra month for alterations. So bare minimum I would not feel comfortable ordering it any less than 7 months ahead of time. I have read dozens of bridal magazines and they all say the same thing order things early. I really like D's Studio and I'm surprised to see some of the reviews, but weddings can be stressful. Anyhow everything went well at my wedding and I love my dress!!! I had shopped around and D's is not the only nice bridal shop, but it is where I found the most beautiful dress, I guess I am a little bias because I love my dress. Everything fell into place for my wedding and I'm sure it will for you too where ever you go, just make sure you give yourself enough time when ordering. As a side note, your bridesmaids if they are anything like mine will drag their well you know on getting their measurements and getting their dress ordered. Most stores wont send in the order till they have everyone to avoid the dye lot variations (I read that on the knotcom) and it seems to be true. Well best luck to you it is so much fun planning a wedding! Giving yourself lots of time will save you lots of stress. Pros: I love my wedding dress Cons: From Vancouver it was a bit of a drive more

DID NOT GET DRESS! 9/12/2008

We ordered and paid in full for a wedding dress in 12-07. We called the shop in 3-08 to ask about the status of our order, we were told it was too early and our dress was on it's way, they would call when it came in. In May we called again, and asked where our dress was. We got no call back. Finally 2 weeks before the wedding, I called and said that we needed to know where our dress was, it was going to be a formal wedding and my daughter could not go UNCLOTHED. They finally called back and said that they were unable to get the dress, it was now out of stock. (They checked when we ordered and if they had ordered it when we paid, we would have had it!) They gave us a dress that was $350.00 less and 3 sizes too small and offered us $100.00 back. We had to fight to get the difference back and it took them 3 weeks to credit the money back to us, and we only got it because we raised a fuss when there were many customers in the shop! Thank God for the great seamstress and my daughters long hair, she is the only reason the dress that they gave us fit and looked good and my daughters long hair hid the expanded back!!!! This shop was great when I got married, but was sold and the current owner is not organized. You may not get your dress, and you will have to fight to get your money back! And by the way, they will not give you back cash, even if they cashed your check 6 months prior, they will credit it back to your debit card! Pros: Nice selection, good parking Cons: Poor sales staff knowledge, poor customer service more

Worst part of my wedding 9/4/2008

I picked out my dream wedding dress and ordered and paid for it on March 8th and we were told it would take 3 to 4 months to get. My wedding is in October so we were told that was more than enough time to get the dress and then have any alterations done if needed. It is now September 8th and I was finally told that the dress is no longer available and will not be coming. The shop has nothing in my size in stock and I now have to frantically find a replacement dress with 6 weeks to go before my wedding. The shop would never give me any order confirmation nor could they give me any delivery confirmation. They kept telling me it is coming and not to worry. My aunt purchased the dress for me and I went to this shop because she is friends with the owner. Definitely the most stressful part of my wedding! The shop did not have to wait for any more money or information from me to order the dress so I do not understand why they could not tell me that the style was no longer available back in March when it was ordered. Completely unacceptable way to run a business and I do not recommend buying anything from here. more

Dee's Studio, Gresham, OR 7/12/2008

It has been a nightmare getting our bridesmaid dresses. The dresses order should have been placed in January and received no later than April (we were told). It is now July 12th and we still have not received our dresses. We have been told every single week since the beginning of May that our dresses would be here on Friday or Tuesday. 2 1/2 months later, it's still not here. \r My daughter's wedding dress was also to be ordered on September 13th. After calling again and again, we found out at the end of March that the dress had never been ordered. \r I would not recommend Dee's Studio to any bride. more

A wise consumer means a great experience! 7/11/2008

I don't know why such negative reviews from so many girls, EXCEPT: did you not pay all of your deposits ahead of time so the dresses didn't get ordered? Did they not get all the sizes, information etc and YOU left them hanging? I really can't imagine they have been in business all these years if they are as shoddy as you make them out to be! I have used them for proms, my own wedding and now for my daughters proms and my D-I-L's wedding! and they have been wonderful! Never a hitch! Susie is great, but then, I always pay ahead, save my receipts and have all the measurements done several months in advance and don't change the weights much in the meantime. Maybe others should take the advice! Pros: friendly service, convenient location, willingness to help, good parking Cons: not the same treatment you get in the larger, urban boutiques more

Horrible service 6/30/2008

This was the worst dress buying experince imaginable. My wedding dress and jewlery were never ordered! 6 months after I had ordered them I started to ask why they had not arrived and it was not until this point that they relized they had never been ordered. My wedding is in a few weeks and I still have not recieved the bridesmaid dresses! For the last two months I have been told ""they will be in next week."" I was even told that she called and they said they had already been shipped which was oviously a lie! They have never once returned a phone call or offered an apology. Cons: Absolutly the worst service I can imagine more

I'll definitely be a return patron 10/2/2007

I was a little taken aback by the negative reviews for Dee's. I've purchased several gowns there for special occasions, all special order, all came in on time, and have never had a bad experience. Their customer service is friendly and I felt right at home the minute I walked in. Even though I'm a very difficult fit, they can look at me and tell exactly what gown will work for me. I always need alterations but Susie is able to get the fit extremely close so alterations are not a problem. Personally, I think rude comments like the previous reviews come from people who could never be satifsfied, ignore store policy, and blame everyone else for everything that goes wrong. I've worked in sales before and I know their type all too well. Girls, if they truly were rude to you, you were probably rude to them to start with--rudeness begets rudeness. My goodness, does the word Bridezilla ring a bell? Pros: Nice atmosphere, great selection, convenient public parking in old town Gresham. Cons: none! more

Terrible Customer Service - Dress NEVER Came 9/19/2007

The customer service is rude. They promised the wedding dress would be here in time, we ordered it well enough in advance. The day that the wedding dress was supposed to arrive, it didn't, and they didn't bother to call. When we called, they said that it was coming and not to worry. Two weeks before the wedding and they were still telling us that. The dress was going to need alterations, and finally after a call to the studio from our mother, they informed us that the dress would not be coming at all. They didn't know why. They then wanted to sell us the dress they had, in the wrong size, that had been used to try on other people and was dirty for the same price and wouldn't refund our money. We had no choice but to use that dress, and in one week manage to get alterations made from a size 12 dress down to a size 4. Not only that, but they wouldn't compensate for any of the fees! And, since they wouldn't refund the money and we only had a week before the wedding, what were we supposed to do? I would NEVER recommend this dress shop to anyone. This was the ultimate wedding dress horror story, and they weren't even sympathetic at all. Shoppers beware! Pros: Convenient Location Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE! Also, don't bring children, they won't let them in! more

IS THERE ANOTHER SIDE OF THE STORY ??? 9/9/2007

I have the pleasure of helping my niece with her upcoming wedding and as I was reading through the reviews of this local bridal shop,I couldn't help but wonder why there were such extremes in the content of those reviews. I have to say, the negative comments were not just negative, they were extremely unkind! When I was in college I worked my way through at a bridal salon in my college town. Although we had the experience of many lovely, well-mannered brides, we also had those who were extremely rude, such as the ones who posted the negative comments about Dee's Studio. There are always two sides to every story and readers should consider some of the things that could have happened along the way. For example, were all the bridesmaids sized by the consultants or did they bring or call in their measurements? Since most of the time the dresses are ordered 4 to 6 mos. in advance, did some of the girls either gain or lose weight? Was enough time given for the orders? At the store I worked in, customers had to sign to okay the size as there was a no return policy unless there was a manufacture defect. Customers were also warned that there were no real guarantees if they did not order far enough in advance, since we had no control over shipments that came from far and away, but we would do the best we could. We also could not control ""fit"" and alterations were expected because although we took measurements, the dresses were still standard sizes and customers are not ! After reading such opposite reviews, I took my niece in on Saturday without an appt. The consultants welcomed us warmly and allowed us to choose what we wanted, not what they wanted. They were very helpful and yet didn't pressure us at all. We took a break for lunch and then came back with the bridesmaids and ordered the gown of her dreams, although it was difficult because they had many cutting edge choices. They even gave a great discount because we ordered everything else through them! Thank you, Dee's ! more

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE 9/7/2007

As with a few of the other reviews on here Dee's studio will never get my nor anyone else I knows business in the future. My friend is getting married in 3 weeks and we only just received our bridesmaids dresses. Out of 6 girls only 1 of the dress fits. One of the girls can even put both arms inside her dress. When we were sized for the dresses the consultants told us what size to order and being that they are the ""experts"" we were confidant they knew what they were doing. Now we are left with dresses that cost $170 a piece and are now looking at between $50-100 more for alterations. One of the girls was even double charged because they insisted she didn't pay yet when in reality she paid ahead of time. I am not the type to complain about service. I myself am in retail and I understand what it is like. I don't want anyone else to experience this kind of headache 3 weeks before their wedding and that is why I'm writing this. more

Susie is a Wonder Woman! 8/27/2007

We walked in without an appointment (which is frowned on in the majority of bridal shops in town) and were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. We brought my daughter's wedding gown which she'd purchased elsewhere and Susie didn't bat an eye. She put her up on a pedestal and in moments had her outfitted in the perfect veil, headpiece and earrings -- on the first try!\r \r We bought all the maid of honor dresses here, and they came on time, in the right size and Susie made the fitting sessions fun and comfortable for the girls. \r \r I also bought my mother-of-the bride dress from this shop, and it was lovely -- not at all matronly, but not too young, either. Susie again instantly suggested the perfect jewelry to accent the dress.\r \r We also purchased our Save-The-Date cards and invitations in the store -- it's truly ""one stop, no hassle bridal shopping."" \r \r We never felt pushed to buy, and were encouraged to take our time trying things on and enjoy the experience. There was a small glitch with the Save-The-Date cards arriving a bit later than expected which was due to the printers' error, NOT Susie's fault, but she gave them to us for half price anyway.\r \r I would highly recommend the shop to anyone needing bridal or formal attire. I have another daughter, and the moment she's engaged, we're heading straight to Dee's Studio Ltd.! Pros: Warm, personal service, experienced bridal/pagent consultant more

Will not buy from again 7/26/2007

I ordered a wedding dress nearly 3 months ago for a summer wedding and was told there was easily enough time to get my dress before my big day. Two weeks before my wedding I still did not have my dress and was worried about having enough time to get it altered. I tried not to call too much to ask about the dress, didn't call at all up until about a month before my wedding, the time the dress was supposed to be in, to get an update on how things were going and I was told it would be in soon. My experience seems all to similar to another reviewer on here, half the time I called no one answered the phone only to return my calls sometimes as many as 2 days later, if at all. They do not seem to value their customers in the least, there are many more places around Portland to get a dress. I do not recommend this business at all. Pros: Shop is clean and tidy. Cons: Customer service, prices, length of time taken to get dress more

Don't even bother 5/3/2007

I went searching for my perfect prom dress and wasted my time. They had no selection, ugly dresses and I didn't feel welcome to be there. There are so many great places don't waste your gas, time or money on Dee's. Pros: zero Cons: no selection, unwelcome atmosphere, not worth the time more

Special orders are their specialty! 4/24/2007

I had a terrific experience with the wonderful staff at Dee's Studio! After looking for over a month for a ""Mother of the Bride"" dress, I finally was able to zero in on the perfect choice at Dee's, thanks to their expert staff !They took their time to guide me though a very stressful time and I didn't feel matronly at all, which was my worst fear ! My other worst fear was not having it in time; My dress had to be special ordered, and it came in time for my trip back east where the wedding took place, even though I was so late in ordering! They really took ""special care of my special order!"" What a pleasure to do business with this lovely boutique in old downtown Gresham. Pros: Very experienced staff who seemed to know exactly what would look good on me ! Cons: Absolutely none! more

Bad Wedding Experience 8/20/2006

I have used Dee's in the past for my prom dresses and had absolutely no problems. I expected no less when I ordered my bridesmaids' dresses. However, the problems arise when you have to order dresses and they are not in stock. My dresses came in a month later than I was first told and every time I called, someone told me a different story. Each salesperson had a different arrival date for me. The wrong color was originally ordered. I had to be the one to keep tabs on them and persistently call to get any answers. I never felt like my business was appreciated and when I threatened to take my business elsewhere, they gave me false hope to keep my business. Now I am left with very little time to get the dresses altered. Bottom Line: Don't order dresses here unless you want hassle (Brides don't need this extra stress)! Pros: Found what I wanted Cons: Service & Everything Else more

Amazing Service! 8/21/2002

A cute shop in old town Gresham. The service is superb! They made me feel like a princess. They have beautiful gowns and encourage you to walk around the store and get a feel for the dress. They aren't too pushy and don't put you in gowns that aren't what you're looking for. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for anyone looking for a great gown buying experience. Pros: Not Crowded, Exceptional Service more
