I had a wonderful wedding, beautiful gown, and my pictures were awesome!! I can understand the frantic feeling of things not going right, but come on many of these brides ordered their dress at the last minute. What do you expect??? That's how the manufacturers are, they take forever. As a rule of thumb you really want to give at least 6-8 months to order your dress, and an extra month for alterations. So bare minimum I would not feel comfortable ordering it any less than 7 months ahead of time. I have read dozens of bridal magazines and they all say the same thing order things early. I really like D's Studio and I'm surprised to see some of the reviews, but weddings can be stressful. Anyhow everything went well at my wedding and I love my dress!!! I had shopped around and D's is not the only nice bridal shop, but it is where I found the most beautiful dress, I guess I am a little bias because I love my dress. Everything fell into place for my wedding and I'm sure it will for you too where ever you go, just make sure you give yourself enough time when ordering. As a side note, your bridesmaids if they are anything like mine will drag their well you know on getting their measurements and getting their dress ordered. Most stores wont send in the order till they have everyone to avoid the dye lot variations (I read that on the knotcom) and it seems to be true. Well best luck to you it is so much fun planning a wedding! Giving yourself lots of time will save you lots of stress.
Pros: I love my wedding dress
Cons: From Vancouver it was a bit of a drive
