Applewood was very prompt and thorough. They called an hour ahead to indicate they would e-mail a photo and credentials of the technician who would be coming to our home. We had both the AC and Furnace inspected and a maintenance check. Art, the technician was very thorough and provided advice and information. Absolutely Ridiculous Prices 5/24/2010

I needed to have a shower faucet replaced in a renovated bathroom we were doing. The valve was exposed (no walls) so it was easy access to replace. I know enough about plumbing that this is a one to two hour job at the most. We sat down to get the quote and almost had a heart attack. I almost laughed in his face. I actually told him how ridiculous his price was? 1,100 dollars. I ask him if he was crazy that he was charging 500 plus an hr to replace a shower fixture. Called a local plumber in Parker, came out the next morning and did the whole thing in an hour and charged me 150 bucks. The real thing I am pizzed about is the 39$ service fee I had to pay to get some out of the world quote?..Don?t waste your money Cons: 39 dlr service fee to find out they want to rip you off more

Applewood Saved my family's lives (literally) 4/26/2010

After the hail storm in July 2009, I hired a local roofing company to fix my roof. The roof was completed in April 2010. After one of the cold spells we had in April, I tried to turn on my furnace but it would not come on. I called Applewood to come and look at the furnace. After the Applewood tech looked at my furnace he noticed that the back pressure sensor in the exhaust vent was tripped and that is what caused it to shut off. The Applewood tech climbed on the roof and discovered that the roofers had completely closed the vent for the furnace exhaust, causing the back pressure switch to shut off. This could have been a deadly situation from the Carbon Monoxide being produced by my water heater being trapped by the closed vent on the roof. (The furnace and the water heater use the same vent.) The Applewood Tech fixed the vent and quite possibly adverted a catastrophe in my home from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. THANK YOU! Pros: Professional more

Great service 4/26/2010

I had great service from Applewood Plumbing. I had a clogged pipe connected to my washer. Levi was very helpful in explaing why the pipe continued to back up and what was necessary in repairing it. Levi did a great job repairing the pipe and I now can do laundry without the worry of water backing up and making a mess of my house. I will definitely use Applewood again for plumbing needs. Are you serious??????? 4/23/2010

I asked Applewood for an estimate to run 5 feet of gas line. The service tech did a site survey, went to his truck and returned with a $14k estimate. Stunned to say the least. His assessment was the entire line needed replacing with some new TracPiping. Even replacing all the lines with new Black Pipe would only result in 40 feet of pipe to remove and replace. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Does Applewood take everyone for a fool? Not cool at all. Ended up using another plumbing service and spending under $1000 to have all the piping replaced. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY> BANDITS would be a nice word for them. Cons: EXPENSIVE - TO THE POINT OF ABSURD more

Extremely high professionalism 3/25/2010

Our 22 year old furnace began making some noise on a recent Saturday. Remembering seeing orange Applewood trucks in the past, I checked them out on the BBB website and decided to give them a call. A gentleman named Chris took my call and scheduled me for the following morning (a Sunday and no additional weekend service charge). Sunday morning Chris called to say the tech was on his way and that he would be happy to e-mail me his picture and qualification. Marty arrived right on time. After putting on his plastic shoe covers to protect our floors he quickly assessed the problem and had it corrected in short order. Hard Working 3/21/2010

I thought I had one relatively simple plumbing problem, but unfortunately there were a number of things that needed to be fixed. I appreciated that they stayed and did all the work the same day instead of having to schedule the work for another day. I was especially happy with the plumber, Greg. He was extremely polite and worked about 9 hours virtually non-stop. I needed a number of different parts and if Greg didn't have all of them in his truck, someone else delivered them so the work could be completed timely and very efficiently. more

Saved us a bunch of money 3/20/2010

After recently breaking her hip, my mother-in-law moved to a senior living center and put her 3 bedroom town home up for sale. Her townhome was under contract very quickly and an inspection was scheduled. The inspector looked at her 35 year old boiler system and said that it needed cleaning and adjusting. My mother-in-law had always used a nationally affiliated company to service her furnace and we called them and set up an appointment. My wife met the ?tech? that came out at the town home. After a couple of minutes in the furnace closet, he told my wife he needed to show her something. Flames were rolling out of the boiler unit and the pressure on the expansion chamber was too high. He told her the entire unit needed to be replaced, that the furnace was unsafe to leave on and he shut it off. Cost of replacement after negotiation, $ 7500. Remarkable Experience 3/12/2010

From the initial response I received by phone on a Sunday afternoon after I emailed my request for a plumber throughout the visit from a courteous and knowledgable plumber the following day I have never experienced such a smooth & easy experience. I was most pleased with his positive attitude and desire to get the job done correctly. They also offered additional free services at the same time which was very nice. Happy Customer 3/9/2010

We had recently moved in to our home and the boiler in our home heating system was not working properly and I wasn't sure who to call. The previous owner had given us a file of home repairs and warranties and I found receipts for maintance on the boiler by Applewood Plumbing and Heating so I called. Julie took my call and sold me. She assured me that they had very experienced technicians who were very familiar with boiler systems and that they would come out and check it out. Dave came out and looked the whole system over and told me that there was some parts that needed to be replaced to get it working but that over all it was in good condition. The boiler is working fine now but we will need to have a few more parts replaced over the next year or so to keep it in top working order. The repairs that we needed were done and not anything extra. Dave went over with me the things that will need to be replaced in the future and about how much they will cost and about when they will need to be done. He also explained how my boiler sytems works and I now know how to tell if it is working properly, how to maintain it, and what will need to be done in the future. Thanks Dave and Applewood. Prompt Service for Electrical Inspection 3/3/2010

Mike G. came over to do an inspection on our electrical system throughout the home. He was very friendly and knew exactly what to look for. He pointed out certain things that we needed to fix and made the proper recommendations. There was no pressure in making a sale or providing services that were needed. Quick service at a fair price 3/3/2010

We had our heat go out late on a Thursday night when we were leaving town the next day. I was concerned about getting someone out so early the next morning. We called Applewood in the am and they had someone there within an hour. The technician was very pleasant and respectful. He wore booties the entire time he was in our home. He was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We felt as if he gave us a fair assessment of the damages and a fair price and did not try to upsell us on anything but what we needed. The service was complete within an hour and he was on his way! They give great coupons and referral discounts as well. I would always recommend Applewood to my friends and family.
