Nathan of Applewood Plumbing and heating was fantastic. He took the time to show me what all the job included and was prompt and curteous. The job he performed was excellent and timely. I can not remember the last time I had a plumber teach and ask if there was anything else he could answer or help out with. The customer service was superb! From the moment I called for an appointment, the scheduler was very professional and helpful. The plumber came within the scheduled time frame. He was polite, clean (wore shoe covers!) and had long experience. He fixed the problem quickly and left the premises without any mess. I will definitely use them again. Once scheduled, the repair man arrived on time, spoke briefly with me then went straight to the compressor unit outside. After a short period he returned stating there was a blown fuse. I received excellent customer service from Master Plumber Jaime Rodrigue. His calm, reassuring manner immediately put me at ease and I knew I was working with an honest, straightforward man whom I could trust. Jaime was kind, caring, empathetic and listened to my concerns, and walked me though the process of repairing a broken sewer main pipe. I was impressed by his ability to coordinate so many tasks yet he made me feel like his number on priority. The original estimate for the project was a staggering $15,000 but by the end of project that number dropped to $7600. Throughout the project I felt Jaime had my best interest at heart. It is with high praise that I recommend Applewood Plumbing and their representative, Jaime Rodriguez. I had some plumbing problems that were easily diagnosed and fixed on the first call. Technician looked at all my plumbing and gave me a time table for bringing up my 50 year old home up to speed. There was no pressure, just helpful advise Pros: Service men are knowledgable, polite and on time more

Plain and simple...don't let many positive reviews convince you. If you have a lot of money to throw away, want something done fairly quick, and don't mind being ripped off, by all means call Applewood. If not (which should cover about 95% of you), don't use them. I was quoted an exorbitant price, lied to, and deceived. Luckily, I checked with someone a friend referred to me, and found out that I could have the same thing done for almost 1/3 of the price. This independent person told me Applewood is one of the worst companies you could call. Companies pay for certain bureau's certification, so don't believe that either. Applewood has been very consistant for me and I will continue to use them. I have used them for my home and rental properties numerous times. Each time, they are great with schedule coordination. They always arrive when they say they will and their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Most recently I had my furnace and a/c unit replaced at my residence. They completed the entire project in just over a day and the guys (Levi, Tony and Doug) were terrific! I highly recommend Applewood! The Applewood company does periodic inspections of the Plumbing, A/C, Heating and Electic systems in your house at your convenience. They are professional, well trained and courteous. Their Company logo is very visible on their vehicles, uniforms and documents. They are prepared to answer all your questions on the inspections they do. When they make repairs and updates in your home, they always continue until you are satisfied with the results. If the work they do leaves a bit of a mess, they tidy up the work area before they depart. Pros: Getting what you pay for Cons: Gold Acct costs a bit more, but worth it more

A technician from Applewood came to my house to inspect my furnace, as I was trying to find out why my carbon monoxide alarm had gone off a few times randomly. After inspection, the technician turned off my furnace, told me my heat exchanger was cracked-and I needed a new furnace. He gave me a quote of ~$8,000., told me they could install the new unit tomorrow, and that I was clearly risking the death of my family and self unless I acted immediately. He also told me repeatedly that he is paid hourly, so there is no incentive for him either way. I called around and company after company explained to me that Applewood is famous for this type of scare tactic up-selling. They also were able to check the warranty on my unit with me on the phone. It turned out that I was under warranty, and the heat exchanger was replaced by a licensed technician for under $700 in labor. These guys are slick --- but definitely not honest!!!!!!!! By the way, the Applewood technician slapped me with a $125. bill for his great advice!!! Don't bother with these crooks, find someone else!!!! I need the smart valve replaced on my furnace and the tech quoted me $1100 for the part. After a quick web search I see that may retailers have this part for $200. I can understand if he wants to charge me $600 for the part, but $1100? Pros: great prompt service Cons: huge markup on parts more

Recently the hot water flow in our bathtub slowed down to almost a trickle making it just about impossible to take a shower. As our house is 63 years old and I am even older than that, my knee-jerk reaction was to become quite nervous, not knowing what to expect and, of course, expecting the worst. But, I had to do something, so I went to my Dex Directory and found Applewood Plumbing and Heating, called them and set up an appointment for the next day. Well, all my worries had been for nothing. The next day, Adam from Applewood Plumbing and Heating showed up. He was very cheerful and pleasant, was neatly dressed, and made a good first-impression. He later proved to have a great sense of humor as well, which I really appreciated. The effect of this was that some of my anxiety immediately went away. We3 have Moen faucets which are nine years old and they did not come with a cartridge removing tool. Moreover, as there seem to be as many different kinds of faucets as breakfast cereals out there today, there is no universal tool out there as there was 40-50 years ago when I used to tackle some of these repairs around the house myself. And, because of this, Adam was at first not able to remove the cartridge. My anxiety started to return, but Adam, seeing this, smiled and reassured me by explaining that he wasn't going to break anything and that he was going to go to a shop that would have the right tool! When he returned, he easily removed the old cartridge, showed me the debris build-up around it that was clogging it up. He then asked me to turn the water back on and run water through the line (without the cartridge in)so that debris that had been lodged in the pipe behind the faucet would be flushed out. He also had a tool that allowed him to scrape additional debris from the walls of the pipe in the wall leading tho the faucet. Adam then explained that he could replace the old cartridge if I wished, but that there probably was a good chance of there being debris inside the cartridge which he would not be able to get to, and that a better option would be to replace the cartridge. Having complete confidence in Adam, I opted for the new cartridge, and now, thanks to Applewood Plumbing and Heating, we are enjoying wonderful showers! I would like to close by saying that you know that a company that sends as its representative someone of the caliber of Adam to your home has to be a good, dependable company. I will definitely call on them again should the need arise and I heartily recommend them. more

We have all experienced the need for a plumber or electrician, usually during an emergency. I have used Applewood Heating and Plumbing many times for those kind of emergency situations. They respond quickly and their technicians have always been professional and courteous. I replaced my furnace and water heater about five years ago and took bids from several companies. I choose Applewood to complete the work as they were honest about what needed to be done and the work was completed in a timely manner. Not only does customer service give you a call before the technician arrives, but upon their departure, a customer service representative gives you a follow up call to make sure you were satisfied. more

I called Applewood to do regular maintenance on my 10 year old air conditioner after the original company that had installed the unit went out of business, in addition to the next company that I had used, and the one after that as well. more

I give Applewood 5 plus stars! The representatives are punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. We have had them work on heating, airconditioning, and give advice about insulation, plumbing and electricity. Everything works better when Applewood has been here!
