The 2-man team at Alaskan Home Services really spent a great deal of time evaluating all of our AC units (we have 3 in our house) and they were honest in their assessment. They come up with good suggestions, but at the same time, they are not pushy. We are very thankful that we have the maintenance agreement because we are never charged for our semi-annual maintenance or any trip charges. more

The tech was prompt and courteous. He was very knowledgeable, explained the unit and called my attention to a problem of leakage from a coil. I had AC installed in my previous home a few years ago and have contracted with them for a unit here. more

4/6/2015 - Unfortunately this is another dishonest company. My unit was installed a little over one year ago and with this installation I received a couple of years of free service. Even though this service was included with my contract and there was no charge for today I did receive an invoice via email that outlined what the charges would have been. The charges are below and are outrageous. $85 Trip Charge $89.95 Tune Up $207.00 Coil Clean Seriously? I have NEVER paid more that $69 - $89 total for an AC tune up. With ALL other companies I have used I have NEVER paid a trip charge and I checked the internet after the service tech left and a can of coil cleaner foam is $5.48. I asked the service tech why my unit starts up so hard and loudly and he was so glad that I asked that. He explained that when I purchased my unit I didn't buy the model that has a starter unit that quiets the startup. I didn't know that I didn't buy this. He was also trying to sell me the 10 year service plan at over $1,400 - interest free for one year of course. Frankly, I don't really know what this service tech did today. He did not tell explain one thing about how my unit was running because he was too consumed with trying to sell me something. After I let him know that I was not interested he abruptly left. I did ask a couple of questions about the one year service plan after my free service expires and he asked me why I kept looking at the one year when I should be looking at the 10 year because of the cost savings. I am sincerely disappointed with this company and they are ruining their own reputation with their shady business dealings I will never recommend this company. more

Robb arrived on time, did a very thorough check of our furnace and offered to change the furnace filter for us. He made recommendations and was extremely helpful. more

The service tech was fine. my only complaint is that I still had to pay 39.00 for a tune up I didn't receive. The tech came to my house, looked at my unit but didn't touch or test anything. Instead, I got a quote for a new system and a bill for 39.00. I can't say I'd use home depot or alaskan again. more

A rep. at Home Depot gave me a brochure about a special tune up offer your company was promoting. I told her I would mention it at our meeting and she asked my name. She said tell them to mention my name to the service man. I live in a 55+ community, and many of us are way past 55 and not physically able to do a lot of maintenance. I posted the brochure on our bulletin board and told the residents about it at our weekly meeting.. I took advantage of the offer and ultimately signed a 5 year service contract. I know another resident opted to have their unit replaced. We are both very pleased with the knowledge, friendliness and prompt service we received. This was advertised to me as a "system tuneup" at Home Depot.....What I got was a detailed list of things wrong with my system and a suggestion that I replace the entire unit....which has been working quite fine since I bought the house. I expected a recommendation of some repairs and a cleaning/tuneup, but there was no cleaning, repairs or "tuneup" done by the technician. I doubt if I could recommend your company and I'll probably be mentioning this to Home Depot. My impression was that if I wasn't interested in some major expenditure, there wasn't much interest in attending to my system. The disconnect switch box was missing a few mounting screws and the technician said that he'd replace those....but never did. more

I needed a air and heating company did not want the kind of service I had had in the past, contacted Home Depot as I wanted a family owned company, I called Alaskan they sent out Travis. There are no words to describe how great he was. He never once pressued me to do all these things to my unit. He told me what he saw what my options were and left the rest to me. He did a great job not only will I refer this company in the furture I also want Travis. Wonderful is all I can say more
