Several years ago we reluctantly bought a 10 year contract with Alaskan Home Services. It has proved to be a very fine investment and has given us ease of mind, hassle-free service. When there have been problems with our AC/heater they have been very upfront and generous with their knowledge. We would definitely take their advice when it is time to get another unit. more

We have been customers of Alaskan Home Services for many years. We have also purchased a maintenance agreement which gives us some discounts when service calls are made to our home. Our home is an older home so we do have plumbing issues from time to time. Several years ago we also had Alaskan replace our furnace. One morning not to long ago, my wife was taking a shower and I was downstairs and discovered water coming out of the floor drain in the utility room. I called Alaskan and the gal in the office said she would get someone to our home as soon as possible. Within the hour a truck pulled up. It was Steve ,who I had never met before, but was I impressed. He was very thorough and friendly. We had a sewer pipe that had been damaged by tree roots. He used a camera and found that the problem was in the middle of the yard. He discussed the options that we had and under advisement, we replaced the pipe to the sidewalk. He called and arranged for a construction crew to come the next morning. Early the next morning they were here ready to dig. He advised me to have two pipe openings installed with the new pipe in case of clogged pipes in the future, as this could be done from the front yard. The job was finished in 6 hours. They left the front yard in excellent condition. They swept up the dirt and debris from the sidewalk and the street. My wife and I were really impressed. You know, I carve walking sticks and customer service is extremely important in my business. Alaskan gets a nice shiney Apple and an A+. Thanks so much for the kind and prompt service, more

I am so unhappy with the service from this company! I had a brand new a/c & heating unit installed in July 2011. It has never worked properly. I paid $7,500. In the summers it blows hot air and in the winters it blows cold air. They have been rude and disrespectful to me. I currently have no heat. They are now telling me it's $2,000 to fix it. I have called another company to help me. I would NEVER recommend Alaskan Home Services to anyone. RESPONSE FROM Alaskan Home Services: Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with our company. We strive to give the best service always. Your units labor warranty has expired and that's why there is a cost to fix the unit. We can't determine when a unit will breakdown or fail. We only install the unit and have had great reliability with this brand. more

First let me say, Alaskan is a good company. New unit installed and right away noticed an issue with the unit. It ran constantly, took too long to cool to the desired temp, and is noisy when turning on and shutting off. After 4 four follow up calls, thermostat replaced, attic crawl entrance repaired, a leaky Freon connection was repaired and loose screws on the outside unit were tightened down. The unit is still very noisy, but cools the house very well. have not seen the energy savings as of yet, but hopeful that the savings will come as the unit gets broken in. more

I've got my new AC unit from Alaskan a year ago. They came twice to tune it up and then in a year to make sure everything goes well. I like the service. more

Alaskan Air has very good techs. They are prompt, explain what they are doing, show you how everything works and clean up after the job. They installed my Rheem heat pump/ac in 2010. I signed up for the twice a year service for 10 yrs and it has already paid for itself. Just had my air ducts sealed and will report back when I turn my unit back on to let you know if it affects my electric bill. They are a first class outfit. more

Everyone was a pleasure to work with! They were able to come out to service my A/C the next day, and called to let me know when the tech was en route to my house. Steve was extremely professional and knew what he was doing. He had everything working great in no time. On top of everything, the prices were reasonable too! more

I called to get service on one of my air condition units. I called late in the afternoon and they were able to come out the next day. Great...right? However when they got here the technician informed me that the part needed was under warranty. Perfect until he quoted me $650 for the labor work which I know would take an hour at the most. Then he tries to pressure me into a service contract for $1400. I told him I would discus with my husband; we called another company and the labor was $105. Much more in line. more

We have had excellent service from Alaskan since we purchased our Trane unit. The bi annual check up is always very professional, and the techs are very friendly. We had our unit stop working, as we have a cat and were worried about him being to hot they came that afternoon, found the problem, changed the part and left. No problems, I recommend Alaskan to all of our friends. more
