I had your company install a new a/c split system two years ago. I think it is important that you know the full story on how I feel about your company.
The initial meeting with the salesman/manager (Tony Borhard) was good. I figured that since The Home Depot endorsed your company it would be high quality. He told me all of the things that I wanted to hear and I chose Alaskan for the job. The day the installers showed up was a bit rocky as they could not answer my questions. They contacted the salesman/manager. He had already sold me the system so he wasn't too enthusiastic about getting me the info that I requested, but eventually this was worked out. The installers got the job done and were decent guys. They had nothing good to say about the company and I learned a lot more than I ever wished I did about it. Shortly after installation, I received a visit from a technician who wanted to check the system to ensure it was working properly. He discovered a freon leak and told me that it needed to be addressed. He said he would pass the word on to the management and somebody would be in touch. This never happened. I eventually called the company and was given the run-around until a tech called me. He set up an appointment which he did not keep. Phone tag was played, the manager (Tony Borhard) was eventually involved and after several appointments that were not kept, I got a tech to show up and after several service calls the freon leak was finally addressed. A couple of tune ups were scheduled and a tech showed up. Didn't really check anything. Looked at the unit and said it was fine.
Last Wednesday Jesus "Chuy" showed up for my final tune-up. He was on time and very professional. He was prepared and ready to work. He explained everything to me and did a thorough job. I was impressed by his professional attitude and courteous behavior. I wonder if this is Alaskan's method of operation: "do the minimum until it is time to get the homeowner to sign up for a service contract and send the good guy out to the job."
Jesus was great. I only wish I had people of his caliber all along. It is time for me to decide if I want to purchase a service contract. I would have no problem doing this if I knew that Alaskan has turned the corner and decided to be a decent company that cares about the customer. I have some thinking to do.
Sadly, our country is slipping in work quality. Management is to blame. Perhaps somebody like Jesus should be running the show over there at Alaskan.
