A-1 American came to my home because of main line stop up.The two men Larry and John was very nice and know just what to do. In a short time the the water was running again. After the men left I had a problem. The two men came back and informed me how to correct the problem.The men was from Virginia Beach office. more

My experience with A-1 American is one that I am proud to post as the technician Jake was sharp. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He made me feel great as a customer and was more then satisfied, I was overwhelmed with the job he did ripping out my split unit and replacing my furnace, coil and air conditioner. Our electricity kept blowing a main breaker fuse called an electrician and he determined our problem had something to do with the heat pump so we called A-1 American to look at our system and Jake determined that our heat pump and gave us a price for a new system.The next day Jake and his assistant arrived and installed the new unit.Jake and his assistant went above and beyond working in one of the coldest days in over a century,they also made some major improvements to access the system and sealed all the leaks in our venting.If Given a rating system for Jake and A-1 American on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give them an 11.If you live in the Va.Beach area and in need service of your heating system call A-1american and request Jake if you can for this man does excellent work and goes above and beyond.Thanks \r J.P.Miller more

People need to do their research before choosing A-1 American Services. My heater wasn't working an the technician determined that I needed a new pressure switch and a draft inducer motor. They wanted to charge me $463.00 for the pressure switch and $1100.00 for the inducer motor. I asks that people be aware that a pressure switch cost about 30-40 dollars and takes less than five minutes to put on a inducer fan, I would also add that a inducer motor is under $200.00 and takes about 30-40 min to put on. What were they charging me for? According to their website you pay for the job not by hour.? $1500 for a job that takes less that an hour to complete and parts that cost less than $200.00. Oh by the way that wasn't even the cause , got a new pressure switch and draft motor still no hot air. more

On Friday evening I noticed I had no hot water and realized I needed my hot water heater replaced. I chose A-1 American because I had seen ads on TV and they are a 24/7 business. The Tech that came out Saturday morning was Mike B. He went a got a new heater, came back replaced my old one and re-did pipes that were previously done improperly. He is a perfectionist when it comes to doing this work. He was extremely professional and just a great person to have working in my home. I felt very comfortable with him doing the work and when he was finished he completely cleaned up every thing. I would always chose A-1 American just because of Mike B. We came home from church on Sunday to see water squirting from the ice-maker tube on our refrigerator. Our first question was... who can we call to respond on a Sunday and not charge an 'arm and a leg'. We were a little disappointed they couldn't find anyone to come on Sunday to Hampton and we didn't get a follow-up call to update us. However, they did come on Monday and by the time they committed to. The VA Beach office was excellent as our point of contact - to follow through with the Hampton office, when they couldn't be reached directly. The two gentlemen (Bryan & assistant) who responded were informative - explained what needed to be done, professional, timely and cleaned up. We were very pleased. Would call them again. more

I have had many services done by A-1 American. From heating system to plumbing services. I always get the high quality service I expect from Jeff and Randy. Most importantly I trust them in my house and that is a big plus! A-1 gives workman and product guarantees. It certainly is exceptional to be able to call on a company that doesn't waver from their \r professionalism, pricing, and fixing the problem! A-1 American is the best! I called yesterday, and the job was completed today. Larry and John were helpful and respectful. They answered my questions,replaced the garbage disposal and made improvements on the pipes underneath the kitchen sink. An A-1 American plumber came to my parents home in Williamsburg to fix a stopped up toilet. My 92-yr-old father signed an ""Authorization to Proceed with Diagnosis"" for a fee of $78. The plumber put in a router, and promptly pulled out a washcloth stuck right at the bottom of the toilet. Total time elapsed; no more than 5 minutes. He then handed my father a bill for $510 with a $100 discount for being a vet. I made several calls to the company but didn't get a call back. I wrote a letter to the company President and CEO and never heard back. It was infuriating to see my elderly parents - and my father a highly decorated WWII vet - taken advantage of by A-1 ""American."" Needless to say, I do not recommend this company whatsoever. more

A-1 American is top notch, I called to let them know that my heating unit was on the fritz and in less than 24 hours Larry and John were at my house to let me know what the problem was and how it could be fixed. They both were very professional and answered every question I had pertaining to fixing my heating unit. They even stayed to make sure that the temperature in the house went up by a few degrees and to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. I must say that I have and will become a loyal customer to A-1 American Services. more
