An A-1 American plumber came to my parents home in Williamsburg to fix a stopped up toilet. My 92-yr-old father signed an ""Authorization to Proceed with Diagnosis"" for a fee of $78. The plumber put in a router, and promptly pulled out a washcloth stuck right at the bottom of the toilet. Total time elapsed; no more than 5 minutes. He then handed my father a bill for $510 with a $100 discount for being a vet. I made several calls to the company but didn't get a call back. I wrote a letter to the company President and CEO and never heard back. It was infuriating to see my elderly parents - and my father a highly decorated WWII vet - taken advantage of by A-1 ""American."" Needless to say, I do not recommend this company whatsoever.
