I was a bit shocked by the $100.00 charged by Valerie to color my hair. I was expecting the usual $60.00. Also, I was correct yesterday when I questioned her about the color of my roots near my scalp. In the normal light of day, it is obvious that my grow-out IS much lighter than the rest of my hair. Not good!!! At this point, I am afraid to try to repair it for fear that my hair will fall out. more

It was my first time going to Z Salon for hair care. I think they are very professional and I was treated very well. My colorist was knowledgeable and took the time to go over what I wanted, what she could do for me, and the cost of my visit. I believe that you get what you pay for and am very happy with the results. Being new to the salon I wasn't clear on where to change into the robe before my color. The desk Manager came over to me personally to apologize and made me feel very special. I like this salon because they are trying hard to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience, not just for a haircut but to be treated special and feel welcome. The scalp massage, neck rub, and hot towels help to add a feeling of being pampered. more

I recently had my hair colored. I loved the stylist and she did an amazing job with my coloring. However, I wish that I had more of a salon experience in that I would like to not have to hold my own foils and style my own hair. The styling station when I arrived was full of moist towels and used brushes. And was not cleaned up until I was almost finished styling my own hair. I also use a barrel brush to style my hair and there was not one available. more

Thea was wonderful. I would request her in the future. My only complaint is toward the end of my massage, there was quite a bit of racket right outside of our door, which was very distracting. I asked if someone was cleaning a closet and Thea said someone was washing the stones....in a place of total tranquility and whispering voices, I thought that was rather distracting for the price we pay for Z's services. more

I had the smooth infusion treatment done on my hair and I can honestly say the results are perfect. My frizzy hair is now sleek and shiny, even without blow-drying. Elizabeth and Shawn at the Shelbyville Rd. location did the BEST job - they listened to me carefully about what I wanted and delivered stellar results! They were both really friendly and personable and easy to talk to. I will definitely go back to them for a cut or the next time I get the treatment done. The only reason I didn't give Z salon a 5 star rating is because the front desk staff seemed disorganized. When I booked this treatment about two months ago, I was told that I would get a phone call to set everything up and give me more information about the treatment itself; after two weeks with no phone call, I had to call myself and they didn't remember telling me they would call. After the appointment itself, the girl at the front desk charged me $50 more than the price I was quoted when I first made the appointment AND immediately prior to my treatment; it took a long time to get it straightened out, although they finally charged me the correct amount. Overall, since I was so happy with the hair results, I would definitely go back, although I hope they can be a little more organized next time. more
