I bought my wedding dress at Wendy's last fall and went in today to look at bridesmaid's and mother's dresses as I had a pretty good experience the first time. What a mess! When I made the appointment, I was very clear that we were looking at both kinds of dresses and even told them how many people we would be bringing. We arrived today an hour before our appointment to pull some dresses we liked (we had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for). As we were pulling dresses and hanging them on a rack on the wall, I had to tell the workers at least three times that we were pulling those dresses for our appointment (as they were trying to put the dresses back on the racks). Also, we had several of the young girls working in there come up and rudely ask if we had an appointment (after I had already checked in at the desk). Our appointment time came and went and after 20 minutes of waiting, our consultant showed up. Where to start? They put our dresses in the wrong rooms and our consultant tried to tell us they weren't the dresses we pulled. The consultant said that we could not look at mother's dresses and bridesmaids dresses in the same appointment (eventhough the appointment confirmation call I had a couple hours earlier acknowledged that we had both kinds of appointments). We had one dressing room for 2 mothers and 2 bridesmaids. The consultant never apologized for being late to the appointment and instead complained about the group she was working with before us. The consultant was super scratterbrained and could not remember anything that we told her (not even the colors of the wedding, just one color! yellow! not hard to remember!)... Needless to say, our consultant was USELESS. We pulled every single dress and I was in the room with the 2 bridesmaids zipping up one with one hand and unzipping the other with the other hand in order to try on as many of the dresses as possible in a short amount of time (so the mother's could get in the room). No joke, the 2 bridesmaids tried on 30 to 40 dresses in 30 minutes. I cannot imagine going in there and relying on that consultant to pull our dresses. Thank goodness we got there early and had a very clear idea of what we wanted or that appointment would have gone nowhere. My mother did end up ordering her dress there today. Fingers crossed that the consultant didn't mess up that order also! We were all exhausted and frustrated by the end of the appointment. Total disappointment and I will discourage my friends who are getting married from going to Wendy's. How can your customer service be so inconsistent?! more

I didn't feel pressured to buy anything that day, and she gave me very good tips about style and pricing, etc. Willy was very knowledgeable - she's been in the business for over 20 years!! Wendy's has a great selection - I would recommend it to anyone!!! I will most likely buy my dress there in a few weeks, and I know of three other friends who bought their dress at Wendy's. more

Bad Experience 7/9/2011

The first thing that was bad with Wendy's was I walked in and the manager wasn't going to let me try on dresses because I didn't have my engagement ring on! It was getting sized! I guess at Wendy's they think a ring makes a marriage! The next thing was, I had to go in 7 times for my fittings because my dress wasn't right. The alterations lady Kathy was awesome, it turned out the dress was cut wrong from the designer. My mom came with me to 3 or 4 of the fittings & lives 40 miles away and I live 20, so we spent at least $150-200 in gas. When the alterations lady figured out the dress was cut wrong it was only 8 days before my wedding, so there was nothing we could do. She did make it look the best it could, but it wasn't right. The manager was very rude and only offered $100 gift card for a mistake on a $1700 dress that never was right & my wedding was over! I would never reccomend Wendy's to anyone. Oh and the manager tried to say she gave us a discount at the begining because we paid for everything upfront, well too bad they do that for everyone! more

I did see the bad reviews before scheduling my appointment at Wendy's, but decided to try it out for myself. My appointment was on a Saturday at 10am. This was the first place that I went to shop for wedding dresses. My consultant was Lila and she told me to look around and pick about 5 dresses. My parents were with me so they helped me find some dresses to try on. I think I picked 6 or 7 and then we headed back to the dressing room. Lila was very personable and made me feel comfortable trying on the dresses. I found a dress I really liked, but my Dad didn't like it. Lila left for a few minutes and came back with a dress that was similar (loved that she was listening to me and not my parents). I tried it on and both of my parents teared up. I had another appointment scheduled at The Elegant Bride in the afternoon so I wanted to go there before making a decision. Lila had no problem with me leaving and coming back. She wrote down the dress that I loved and wished me luck. I went to The Elegant Bride and actually had the worst experience ever. I wear size 6-8 in dresses and they mostly only had size 4, so it was hard to picture myself in a dress that wouldn't zip up. The consultant (which was the owner I think) would not listen to a word I was saying about my style and only chose dresses that she liked. She also told me to stop eating so much McDonalds and drinking coke -- RUDE! I left there and went to Alfred Angelo's -- I had a GREAT experience there. I didn't have an appointment but they took me in and only put me in dresses that I liked. In the end though, they did not have the style of dress I was looking for. I ended up back at Wendy's and Lila was just finishing up with another appointment. She asked me to wait only 5-10 minutes and then let me try the dress on again. I loved it and decided to make the purchase. Other reviewers complained that they couldn't take a picture of the dress before the purchase at Wendy's, but I'm pretty sure it's like this everywhere else (even Kleinfeld's on 'Say Yes to the Dress' hehe). As soon as I purchased the dress, Lila took pictures of me with my parents. I received the dress and undergarments (bra and slip) for EXACTLY my budget going in (Lila didn't know my budget). My undergarments actually already came in and look to be exactly what I ordered. I obviously haven't had alterations yet, so I'll be back to review once that happens sometime in November/December. I'm a little nervous because I ordered a custom sweetheart neckline and a different color dress than what I tried on, but I'm optimistic that everything will work out. I was definitely impressed with the whole experience and recommend that brides try Wendy's out for themselves. more

AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! 6/5/2011

i'm trying to warn future brides to avoid this place!!!!!! Go somewhere else, anywhere else, unless you want to stress that your dress will make it in time for your wedding and want to have them talk you into ordering the wrong size so you can pay them even more for serious alterations. I wish I could give this place less than 1 star, it doesn't even deserve that! I went here as a bridesmaid, the bride chose it, so I had no choice. This place is a scam!!!! Horrible service, the saleswomen lie to get more business, its just plain bad. The bride set up our appointment to try on dresses, after she had ordered her own a few weeks prior. We tried on several dresses. After we selected a dress we were told they only had one size for us all to try on. It was a 10. Not one of us was an exact size 10. So we were at the mercy of their sizing chart. I normally wear anywhere from a 2 to a 6. Their ""sizing chart"" said I wore an 8. I argued for some time, and of course they explained that different manufacturers have different sizes, blah blah blah. I know that, but that's a really huge difference!!! How can I be a 2 across the street at Davids and an 8 here. Ugh, I unfortunately took their word for it and ordered an 8, thinking maybe this dress company was that different. Then the dress came in. I was right, I probably should have ordered a 4 or 6. The 8 is unbelievably huge. And of course they won't return it. They want me to have them alter it. Yeah right, cause I'm going to fall for that. I do however have to find someone skillful enough to take this dress apart, because I think the bust is built for Pamela Anderson or bigger!! I'm already a D cup, I never have this problem with dresses! I think it will cost more than the dress to fix it, since the bust has boning, but I am not paying Wendy's to do it!!!!! ALSO, the bride, as I stated ordered her dress a few weeks before the bridesmaids. Her dress still isn't in months later. They called and said it was in, so she drove all the way out there, and it was the wrong dress!!!! They ARGUED with her and said it was of course her dress. Seriously?!?! I think a bride would know what dress she ordered!!!! So they blamed it on the manufacturer and won't give her any discounts or assistance. Her wedding is in August, it is now June and she still has no dress!!! AND they keep making excuses!!! She ordered it almost a year ago!!!! I am hoping to save future brides of the stress of this awful place. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, buying the dress is supposed to be the fun part!!! more

I had a wonderful experience at Wendy's Bridal... I had an idea in my head about what my wedding dress shopping experience would be like, but they went above and all of my expectations! I did make an appointment and showed up a few minutes early to it... But once I got there, they let me pick out dresses that matched my style. (I loved this because I am very picky and kind of a control freak at times...) Some were a little bit above my budget, but Liv (I believe that was her name) was amazing! She found several, at least 4 other dresses, that were similar and more affordable! With each dress, she took the time to show me all of the accessories I could possibly want so I could imagine how I could dramatize my look... She actually found my dress- it was not one I found myself but one she found for me. I was impressed! It was exactly my style and was everything I wanted for my wedding day. I found my dream wedding dress and was VERY happy with my experience at Wendy's. She put up with the many personalities I brought with me for opinions (my mother, my sister, and my mother in law) and helped make it a very pleasant experience... I can't wait to go back and look for my bridesmaids' dresses and flower girl's dress! There is not one negative thing I could think of to say about Wendy's- even though I went during a really good sale (20% off), I felt like I was a royal princess between the time, attention, and customer service I received. :-) Hope this helps other brides!! more

MANAGEMENT IS RUDE, THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE 5/3/2011

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE... THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Whats wrong with the women that work there. They all make commision, so you would think they would be nice. They must make commision on alteration, they will try and sell you a dress 2 sizes to big so you can pay hundreds of dollars to have it tailored to your real size!!!! My daughter order her dress from Lil, I wish we could cancel and order from DAVIDS BRIDAL.- LiL is the store manager and she is rude and always acts as if she is watching the clock for her next appt. We went to look at brides maid dresses with 6 of the 7 bridesmaid bc my daughter did purchase her wedding gown from Lil - regardless.... after another Rude session and being insulted by her and the other older staff we went to DAVIDS BRIDAL and purchased 8 bridesmaid dresses. The staff at Davids were friendly, nice, professioal, and willing to go above and beyond to help us. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO SHOP AT WENDYS.... TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The entire staff needs to read the book "" Hug your Customer"" they will learn something. How does this overly rude women continue in her postion when the ecomony is so bad and alot of good sales people need jobs. She is terrible. When my daughter called to talk to the general manager about how Lil treated us, the general manager covered LIl like a blanket... business must be good for Wendys the staff can treat the Bride and her parry anyway they choose and be praised for it. Just remember 1 upset customer will tell 10 and then they will tell 10 and so on and so on... YOU JUST LOST A LOT OF BUSINESS!! more

They don't deserve any rating besides a terrible or worst ever!They hate kids and will kick u out if u have a baby that cries even if they were being fitted. This is my nightmare...I made my appt like everyone else and told them that I had 6 girls with me that had to find their bridesmaids dresses. No problem until we got there.All we kept hearing from the sales woman was that she had another bride coming in 1hr and that we needed to hurry!! We felt so rushed and barely got any help.She left halfway through and we started helping each other then finally some other sales person came over to finish up.They only have time to tell you how long they have had this job and how great they are. more

Like many others, I decided to ignore the reviews and check out Wendy's Bridal for myself. I made an appointment, and was assigned to Lil. I was told to look through the racks and pick out a couple dresses to start with. After I made my selections, Lil was still no place to be found. The girl at the front desk saw me standing around, and didn't seem to care. Finally, I asked if I could just go into a room and start trying on my gowns. She told me to wait while she went in the back and got Lil- they would not let me go in by myself. Long story short, I found I dress I absolutely love. It took Lil a little bit of time, but she eventually began to warm up to me. She wrote down my selection and I told her I would come back in the next couple weeks with my mom (who lives about 2.5 hrs away) so she could see the gown on me (pics are not allowed in the store). I called my mom later that night and told her about the dress and recalled that I didn't receive any information about the gown. I called Wendy's and told them that I was in earlier that day and that Lil wrote down the gown I was interested in. I asked if I could have the information so my mom could see it online. The lady on the phone told me no! She said they DO NOT give out designer information until the dress is purchased! I explained that my mom is from out of town and I would like her to see the dress online before she made the trip down...still,the lady wouldn't budge. I recalled not seeing any tags on the dress- another review said they take them off- wow! I couldn't believe that they advertise designers on their website, but refuse to give you ANY info in the store! Ridiculous! I will never go back there and after much hunting online, I finally found the dress and will buy it from somewhere that is willing to assist their customers! Apparently they only care about the sale, once they have your money, they feel free to insult you and refuse service. We ordered the brides and bridesmaids dresses here. One of the bridesmaids dresses was completely the wrong size, but the Manager told us we did not know what we were talking about even though the dress was two sizes too large. She refused to acknowledge there was a problem and did not offer any help. She actually said we did not know what we were talking about. Take your business and cash somewhere else! I just ordered my bridal gown from Wendy's, today! Yeah!! And, my experience was great. They have a professional staff which I found to be friendly and knowledgable. My consultant, Lil, really seemed to know which dresses would be best for my body type, personality, wedding style and budget. And, with some resistance, she steered me in the right direction. I was a little uncomfortable at first, letting someone else make style choices for me. But, I'm glad I did - I look freakin' awesome in that dress! I definitely recommend the store. I don't know what these other people are talking about. Yeah, an appointment is probably helpful and trying on wedding dresses without help from a sales person is tricky, that's probably why they want to help. Extremely DIssatisfied with Alterations 6/19/2009

I absolutely loved my wedding dress that I got at Wendy's Bridal in Dublin. The service was never great; and I found out later that many of their practices are shady--making you pay for things in advance etc. So be wary. Overall, I loved my dress though--so was never super upset with the store...that was until... my dress that I loved was ruined because the bustle which they charged me over $100 to put in did not last 1 hour at my reception and my dress was ruined with stains from the dance floor. If you fall in love with a dress here--whatever you do--get your alterations somewhere else!!! more

Terrible Service. Dishonest Employees. 5/5/2009

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! I should have known the moment I walked into this place that it was a terrible idea. There were no other clients?NONE?in the entire store, and yet when I asked for help at the front desk they told me I?d have to wait because I ?didn?t have an appointment.? I agreed and browsed for about 10 minutes, picking out 2 dresses I liked. No one paid any attention to me, and two women were chatting behind the front desk. I finally went back up to the counter and asked if I could try the dresses on. One woman rudely snapped, ?Listen hon, if you don?t have an appointment, you have to wait. We get real busy and that?s why you have to make an appointment.? REALLY?? They claim to be busy when there are NO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE?? How rude! I almost left then and there but I really liked one of the dresses. Finally about fifteen minutes later, the woman who was designated to help me got off the phone and we tried on the dresses. The one I loved was just my size, and I asked if she?d sell it to me off the hanger. She said not until mid-June, but at that point she?d give me 50% off. I was excited about the great deal and agreed to call back mid-June. Over the next month, I shopped at several more places, but the deal I was promised was by far the best price I found. The first week of May, just to assure the dress and the deal promised were still in good standing, I called the store only to find they had SOLD THE DRESS off the hanger for 30% off to someone else the previous week. I absolutely could not believe it. Here I had been shopping for a month, turning down other good deals, because I believed this dress was ?waiting for me? until mid-June. The woman on the phone told me I should have called sooner. WHAT?? I actually called them a month and a half BEFORE they told me to! Unbelievable. And they got an extra 20% from the girl who ended up with the dress. I called back and asked for a matching price to the one the girl paid for my dress and they refused. Apparently this place is all about making money, not about relationships or honesty with their clients. Spend your money elsewhere. I recommend Cincinnati Bridal and Formal where we had the best saleswoman and customer service out of the dozens of Ohio stores we shopped. I still don?t have a dress, but I?ll likely go back to Bridal and Formal just because of their amazing service and genuine care for their clients. I was treated horribly at Wendy?s twice. Since the wedding industry is already known for exploiting young brides and their bank accounts, I can?t stand poor customer service. Bad business ethics 3/2/2009

After looking at bridesmaid dresses online, I found a few I liked and found Wendy's listed in the store locator. I called and made an appointment. First, I was surprised to find they only allowed 1 hour for bridesmaid's appointments. But, I went anyway. I wasn't sure where exactly the store was located, as there are no signs on the main road. I ended up passing the store and with the weather and traffic, I ended up being 10 minutes late. Then, I asked to use the bathroom and was told I had to go 3 stores down to Trader Joe's, because their bathrooms were out of order. Now, I'm 15 minutes late. The sales person I dealt with made a snide remark about how I wouldn't have time now that I was so late. I told her there were specific dresses I wanted to see, but she said they don't have them grouped by designer. Then when she found out I wanted to keep the cost down, I could feel her displeasure. She made NO attempt to help me look for the dresses I wanted to see or to find ANY dress. I felt like a bother the whole time I was there. And, I found out the reason she couldn't tell me if they had the dresses I wanted is because they cut all the tags out of their dresses, so you have no idea what you're buying. They won't tell you anything about the dress until after you've paid for it. They do this so you are not able to price shop and find the dress cheaper somewhere else. This is just bad ethics that I refused to buy from them, even though I did find a dress I liked in my price range. Go to Alan Ray. They are helpful, knowledgable and professional. I was very skeptical of scheduling an appointment at Wendy's after reading these reviews. But then a friend of mine told me what an amazing experience she had had when her sister got her dress there. So I figured most people are only motivated to write when upset or angry and I decided to give Wendys a shot. I had a FANTASTIC experience!!! Not only do they have a large, varied selection of beautifully made dresses, but my consultant - Willy - was so helpful!!! The customer service was TOP NOTCH!! What's more - they had the PERFECT dress for my occasion and my personality at a very affordable price!!! I'm ordering it this week!! TERRIBLE...DO NOT GO HERE 7/21/2008

I would not recommend these people. They ordered my mom's dress in the size too small. They told her she did not meet the criteria for the next size bigger even though she was over on her measurements. They stated ""the dress is lovely."" She left the store crying. Asked for owners number, and the store refused stating ""we don't have an owner."" Stated my mom should have tried a bra on with dress when she ordered it. She did, one of theirs. When trying on her dress they stated ""we could have given her a bra that looked much worse than the one she had on."" Stated in one conversation she was over measurements by 1/2 in. In another conversation, she was under measurements by 1/2 in. In another conversation she meet the measurements except her largest measurement put her in the next size, but it did not make sense to order that size. Plus, her largest measurement they said ""it was not their fault she was bigger there"" She did not know she wasn't getting the right size. Store stated it should have been discussed. Totally unsatisfied! Stated it's not their fault, and nothing else will be done to remedy the situation. Willie is the only person who actually cares at that store. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7/16/2008

Wendy's Bridal in Dublin, Ohio is unprofessional. I went there with a good friend and her mother to look at bridal gowns for her wedding. The store was completely empty, however the women working behind the desk proceeded to talk about us ( the brides mother and I ) to the extent that we both could see them in the mirror and hear them gossiping about us. I was disgusted as the mother was dressed in banana republic and I in J. Crew, as the curly haired girl behind the desk continued to gossip about us, and bad mouth us and the bride. It made us so uncomfortable that the brides mother vowed to tell all her friends about the horrible experience she had there and not to do business with wendy's! I also overheard them talking about a previous customer and how she can take her business elsewhere. I don't know what this poor girl did to deserve them bad mouthing her to the extent they were but after how they treated us she probably did nothing at all. If it wasn't for the sake of the bride, I would have put those catty, trashy women in their place. However, like a true professional I refrained from attacking people. I've never been so disgusted with a business in my entire life!!! In college I worked for a retail clothing company and NEVER would've imagined treating cutomers in that manner. Bad Service and cheap selection( as in quality) 12/6/2007

All I have to say about Wendy's Bridal is that I would not recommend it to anyone. They do have a wide selection, but the dresses are not made well. Every dress my bridesmaid tried on made her look fat, and she is a size 2! So needless to say, the dresses are not tailored well. The workers there are terrbily rude, especially the older women..if you don't mind me saying. The store closes at like 5 or 6, but the dressing room closes an hour before the store does. I have never heard anything good about this store, but being the person I am, I wanted to see for myself. This store desperately needs new management!
