My doggie, Lil Sunny Lee, and I visited Vetco last Saturday for LSL's physical. I asked, "Where is Dr. Tabor?" Ms Wanda said, "He died." RIP, Love.

AWFUL!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! 4/26/2013

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! WORST group of "professionals", I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I took my dearest baby girl dog, my heart, my soul, my best friend to these monsters only to be scarred for life. After waiting for 45 minutes just to be seen, a nurse immediately took her to a back area, without explaining anything, and told me to wait in the waiting area, lobby. She was to have her blood drawn for a pre-op to get spayed. After requesting to see the vet for further questions, Dr. Raj walked out and was of no help and she stared stoically at me and my concerns. She then proceeded to go back, at which point I thought I was getting my dog back. I wondered why I was not able to be with my dog during her examination. It worried me, I became increasingly nervous, as my dog was not used to being with others. Finally, I went back to the room which read "employees only" and knocked. The secretary up front was on a phone call but dropped the phone, to ru more

Terrible customer service and staff 1/11/2011

Beware of this vet. I originally brought my canine in to be neutered, he developed a sore on his right leg six days later, where I believed they had shaved his fur and placed the iv needle.I called vetco to inform them and see how i could treat it, the receptionist sat their and argued with me stating i had to pay a 30 dollar fee just to get seen. I did not feel this was just, considering it was their mistake. She than spoke to her supervisor and she got on the phone and told me to bring him in today, i asked if i was going to be charged for the visit., she said rudely " NO thats why i am asking if you can come in today:", i asked her what time was a good time to bring my canine in she proceeded to hang up the phone on me. "WOW" The staff their is completely unprofessional and rude. To top it all when i came in to vetco that same day to get my canine examined, the receptionist and vet tech sat their in front of me making remarks on how it was not their fault the dog had a sore and they more

Don't bother.. 5/16/2010

After years of going to Vetco it sadly ended poorly. My elderly dog was kindly put to rest with the help of Dr. Hardy but unfortunately my loved one and other dogs were neglected for over a week before sending to crematory. Will not be returning. Pros: Dr. Hardy Cons: The Staff more

Go at your own risk 5/12/2010

Saturday, May 1st I made an appointment to put my 18 year old terrier to rest. This was a very difficult decision. I was promised and signed an agreement for my loved one to be individually cremated and understood for him to return within 3 days to a week. I called the hospital everyday since Wednesday, May 5th asking if my dog had come back, their response every time was that "he's not back yet". By Tuesday, May 11th I felt something was wrong. I called Vetco Hospital and their response was that they would call the cremation company and find out what happened and call me right back. I did receive the call, that morning, and to my surprise the following was said to me by the vet technician/receptionist.. "we forgot to send the pick-up fax and my dog is still in the freezer along with other dogs" My loved one, as well as others, had been forgotten and neglected in their freezer while the employees continued on their day of work. This abuse of the deceased should be stopped and reported. more

Disappointing and sad when my dog needed medical attention! 10/12/2008

I would stay far away from this place! I had read all the bad reviews, but still decided to take my dog here for his shots as they advertise low cost (please go to Pasadena Humane Society- SPCA instead, they are low cost for shots!) The staff were really rude, lazy, and everytime I went they seemed like I was inconveniencing or bothering them. They never asked, "Hi how are you? how can I help you?" nothing, just sat at the counter and stared at me. I mean if you hate your job that much leave! I always had to instruct the lady behind the counter to do her job, like "I need to schedule that appt.", "I need to pay for my visit", etc. she just sat there and looked at me with a blank stare. Phone would ring, they just sat there and didn't answer, it was no wonder I never reached someone when I called. more

Great staff in Vetco Pasadena 8/21/2008

We brought our pet dog Joey to Vetco Pasadena since 1998 and have always experienced kindness and professionalism from all members of the staff there, especially Dr. Woods and Dr. Tabor. We are very grateful for the wonderful work that the staff do for the animals and owners. Our dog Joey was put to sleep today and we miss him. more

Oh My God! STAY AWAY FROM VETCO BURBANK 11/16/2007

Took my cat because she was acting sick, after they told me I had to have her ears cleaned my cat acted even more sick. The doctor that called me with my results did not see my cat originally and could not answer my questions and refused to call the original doctor. My cat had to be taken to the emrgency room because VETCO raptured her ear by cleaning it. $1500 later VETCO BURBANK refuses to give me coorporate contact or my calls. It is a ghetto place with rude and not experienced doctors and staff. They refuse to give me back my money and now my cat is sick in another hospital. She almost died last nite. STAY AWAY! more

negligent, careless, rude, lazy, slow staff 11/2/2007

If I could rate Vetco zero stars, I would. I came in when the place was EMPTY and asked for my 2 dog's medical records. They charged me for it and it took them OVER AN HOUR make copies and the place was NOT busy! (I can't believe I waited that long!) Customer walks in. Reception says, "hold on a minute, I'm printing out five years of receipts for her and it's going to take a while." more

Stay Away! 10/16/2007

We took our small chihuahua to this clinic a couple of times because it is close and convenient. Such a big mistake! Our dog was misdiagnosed and inappropriately treated both of the times that we took her in. The scary thing was that if my husband and I did not both have medical training, we probably would have believed these incompetent people and undergone the costly and dangerous procedures that they insisted were necessary. Their record keeping is sloppy and inconsistent. Watch out also for their vaccination clinic- the last rabies injection that they gave our dog ended up giving her a huge seroma (fluid collection) on her thigh because they injected her incorrectly. I usually don't write reviews, but felt so strongly about this one that I had to chime in. more

bad medicine 10/1/2007

You're lucky if they answer the phone. Appointments are barely ever on time anyway. But worst of all, don't expect accurate diagnosis. My dog had a vasculitis from her rabies shot but was put on anti-histamines because he misdiagnosed her as having allergies. Then he proceeded to give her high dosages (which I was informed by another vet) of benadryl, which left her sleepy and did nothing to clear up her condition. Her condition worsened, she lost more hair, and after more expensive lab tests, still no proper diagnosis. Finally, I took her to another vet that knew what was going on. Just be careful of this place, you might get treated with the wrong dosage of the wrong medicine. more

They only want your money!!!!!! 7/25/2007

They gave my 8 week old kitten the WRONG set of shots and made her terribly sick. I came in for the low cost vaccinations and they charged me $180 dollars! They are CROOKS and don't care about your animals. I only gave it one star because you have to rate it. more

VERY UNSATIFACTORY EXPERIENCE 3/8/2007

Dr. Tabor was great, gentle and considerate of my dog.The administrative staff were sloppy and unprofessional. I was told I should be presenting proof of prior vaccination for my pet to now be eligible for a 36 month rabies shot but because there were a lot of people waiting (or something indecipherable, she spoke poorly)she would not the proof but nevertheless assured me I would be getting the proper 36 month shot and cert. to match. Then she erroneously marks down on the vaccination cert. that it's just a 12 month cert When I call here back the next day she lies and says the conversation never took place. Tries to talk over me, hangs up, calls back, tries to lie again, hangs up. I call corporate in Huntington Beach, a Garret assures me that all will be corrected and that he will call me back. The liar's boss from the clinic calls. She lies, threatens to not now send me the correct cert. and hangs up. Still no call back from Garret. I call him and leave a message. No call back. I do r more

Dr. Tabor is great! 10/12/2006

I have been to many Vets in the Pasadena area and a lot of them have very poor "bedside manner," with the owners as well as the pets! Dr. Tabor is wonderful to me as well as my nervous dog. He makes a vet visit a much more comfortable experience since my dog is no longer miserable and scared the entire time! I have never had anything less than a positive and pleasant experience with Dr. Tabor, and recommend him highly. PROS: Friendly Staff, No Waiting CONS: Not the nicest-looking hospital or waiting room :( more

One month, $$$, and a sick puppy later. 2/14/2006

We got our dog from the pound a month ago and brought her to vetco to treat a small eye infection while we were waiting to get in as a client to a better vet. We figured they could handle a small eye infection. Dr. Tabor and the techs were all very nice and it really seemed like he knew what he was doing. When the first round of treatment didn't work at all, he prescribed more medications and kept reassuring us that she would get better --- so even though I was at this point a little worried that she wasn't showing any improvement, we trusted that he knew what he was doing and she would eventually get better. However, he had completely misdiagnosed our dog, and had she followed on this treatment she would have become sicker and sicker. A month, lots of money, and a much sicker puppy later, we went to a different vet. They were horrified by how Vetco had diagnosed her, and immediately took her off the medication Dr. Tabor prescribed and put her on a different set of medication, and the more

0-Star would be more accurate 7/27/2005

All I can say is do not go to unless you're getting yearly shots or something on that level. My 3 year old was an extremely healthy dog one day she got sick, took her to Vetco and for the next month and more than a $1000.00 later Vetco kept reassuring me she was getting better and then she died. Yes, I should have taken her somewhere else but Vetco didn't seem overly concerned and I never had a pet get sick like this before and I thought they knew what they were doing...boy I had to learn the hard way on that one. more

Great kennel 2/15/2005

We've been using Vetco for kennel services since it opened. It's great because the cages are indoors, a must for our indoor terrier. It makes it cool in the summer for her, and warm and dry in the winter. The staff is very friendly. Also, if your dog needs shots, the hospital can take care of it right there. Just make sure to reserve in advance - it does fill up! PROS: Indoor kennels, onsite veterinarian, friendly staff CONS: Make reservations far in advance, they require too many expensive blood tests (e.g. cholesterol!) each year to board a dog more
