Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

Add my voice to the chorus 6/29/2015

I guess I'll add my voice to the chorus of praise that seems to be the trend on Judy's Book for The Acting Corps. It's just a awesome place to learn and develop as an actor. more

Virginia Transplant 6/22/2015

I'm a recent transplant from Virginia, liking the weather and way of life out here. Anyway, I think picking an acting school is like starting a relationship with a woman. Hopefully, you will be in it for the long hall, there will be good days and bad days, but in the end, you hope to be better for it, and even if it's a disaster, the experience will be with you always. because I've had a few bad relationships (with women and schools), I did my homework and did not jump into class lightly. I looked around, talked to people, and really figured out what I wanted. And so when I started classes at The Acting Corps, I got what I wanted and am very happy with them. I think this is the stare of a beautiful relationship. By the way ladies, I am still single. more

A pleasure! 6/13/2015

I have been a student at The Acting Corps for five months. I have studied in the Boot Camps, and now have moved on to the more advanced classes. Unlike boot camp in the army, this boot camp was a pleasure, though it did get me into shape. I have tested many Los Angeles based acting classes, and none compared. I have improved acting in both body and my voice and have become a much better actor. Once you start, you can't stop. more

Slashy 6/7/2015

I was a writer/director/producer up until earlier this rear, a "slashy" (because of the slashed between the jobs). Now I can actor to this. I had done acting before, but never anything big, and I wouldn't claim to know what I was doing. I really went to the Acting Corps to understand acting more to use in my directing. I did learn this, but so much more too. I am told that I am a unique type, and have actually been cast in something just last week. I found that I actually love acting! The next project I write I think I'll be writing for myself! more

On my way 5/31/2015

I hate when people come to town and say they want to be famous. If you are going to be an actor, it better be about the work and not about the fan worship. The Acting Corps is a school about the work and the love for acting. If you don't love it, then why put yourself thought all the pain of booking an acting gig, doing it, and then having to do it all over again. Don't get me wrong, my experience at the Acting Corps was not all sunshine and lollypops, there were times I failed and felt terrible, but I learned, and am the better for it. And class is the place to fail rather then in an audition or on the job. And looking back, I loved it all. more

in the moment 5/25/2015

I'm a musician, I have a band, but I love acting too. I became affiliated with this group in Hollywood, and I did some inprov and table reads, but that's just kid stuff. I wanted to take some real classes. This guy in the group tole me about this place called The Acting Corps, and I checked them out. Great place. I signed up for the boot camp. I did have to miss one class because I had a gig, but other then that, I was there every day of the boot camp, and I learned so much. I already had the stage presence and the confidence, now I have the skills to go along with it. I like this Meisner stuff, it's all about being in the moment, and I freakin' just love the idea of this in life, and im performance. more

Real and challenging feedback 5/18/2015

The Acting Corps is a wonderful acting school. Their feedback is real and challenging but always within an atmosphere of support. It was so valuable to really know specifically what I needed to work on rather then to be told generalities. Or worse still, schools that are afraid that if they give you real critique you will get upset and go away, and they will lose money. The Acting Corps is NOT a place like this! I would definitely recommend the The Acting Corps. more

Back in town 5/11/2015

I grew up in NoHo, had to go to northern California for reasons I will not share (all they do is smoke pot up here), but I back in town for a month or so, and I took some classes at The Acting Corps. Boot Camp they call it. I do want to move back down for good and do the acting thing again. It's been awhile, but the classes at the AC really go me back into the mindset. I'm gonna make it happen. I'm inspired. I'm writing a review, and I don't do that. Gonna go back, soon I hope. more

First time out 5/3/2015

This was my first acting class, and it is definitely fun! The class set up is great and the teachers were knowledgeable. I also loved the location! Lots of free parking! I went with the standard boot camp package, which was really my only option as I am new to acting. I want to take the boot camp 2 package when I'm finished. It's a very good place. I am learning so much. Overall, I really enjoyed the classes and benefiting a lot. It's not always easy, don't assume for a moment that when I say it's fun that it isn't also challenging. I like a challenge. more

Just the good stuff 4/26/2015

I've been to other acting schools in Los Angeles for about five years. The The Acting Corps is really different, and I know that's a cliche to say. At some of other places I went, they really focused on the character's history, like what he ate for breakfast matters at all. And emotional memory... didn't work for me! At The Acting Corps, it's being in the moment, and feeling the physicality of the character. I loved it! No BS. I believe The Acting Corps is a great place to take your acting to the next level. I am looking forward to pursue my career and training here and wholeheartedly recommend people to check it out. more

Reality Star makes good 4/19/2015

I was on a reality show last year. Not one of the biggies, but it was seen, and it did give me my 15 minutes of fame. I decided that if I was to cash in on it, I needed to know how to act, so I ran out and signed up for the Boot Camp at the Acting Corps. I have to admit that this acting thing is not as easy as I thought it would be. It's hard! But I do love it. I think my 15 minutes is over, and I really didn't break into the business at all, but I feel that I am where I should be, doing the work to be a real actor and not just a gimmick. And when I get another chance, I will be ready thanks to the Acting Corps. more

I would highly recommend this acting studio! 4/13/2015

I would highly recommend this acting studio! I am fairly new to acting and can be a bit of a shy and emotionally closed off person. The Acting Corps has taught me more in two months than all the other class I have taken. Not only about acting but also about myself as a person. The teachers here are incredible, nurturing, and do not shower false praise. Learning the technique of acting is one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have ever done! more

One of the best decisions I've made! 4/6/2015

As an aspiring young actress new to Los Angeles, I searched all over for an acting school that was just what I was looking for. I considered many, but decided in the end on the Acting Corps. I've been in town for a few months and I'm so on the right path. Learning so much! I highly recommend The Acting Corps to anyone with passion for acting. You will learn helpful techniques, what to expect when you go on auditions, and establish connections with both the teachers and your fellow students. The Acting Corps has been one of the best decisions I've made! more

Spectacular! 3/29/2015

Thank you to the staff of The Acting Corps for making our experience perfect! I signed up on a hot LA winter morning in January, and at the time I didn't know what a good choice it was.. With the help our your office staff and teachers, I took steps to come more then a surface actor who can memorize lines and spit them out on command, which is what I was before. If anyone from The Acting Corps reads this, please pass this big "Thank You" on to those who work so hard to make my experience so spectacular. more

Believe it 3/22/2015

Back in 2013, I remember using some website, I think it was Judy's Book, to look at reviews on The Acting Corps. I was blown away by all the incredible ratings but a bit skeptical as to if they could actually be real. I started attending the school in mid-2014, and I can honestly say that everything all the wonderful statements of devotion to this incredible place, are completely accurate. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and gives you a great foundation and the skills that you will need. I highly recommend this school and I am so thankful that I've made the decision to study with them. Five stars! more

Review number 100! 3/14/2015

I am honored to be the one-hundredth review on this site about The Acting Corps. And sit seems most are very positive, and so is this one. I freaken' love this place! It's worth the money, worth the investment. There are schools that just stop you from getting rusty and help you maintain, and there are schools that teach you stuff, The Acing Corps is the latter (as in thay teach you stiuff). I can nat say enough nice things about them. more

Business of Acting and more 3/9/2015

When you want to be an actor, you need someone to teach you the ropes. The in and outs. All the things they don't know you don't know. Acting is not just about learning lines and saying them with emotion, or at least good acting isn't about this. Being truthful in the moment is important, and that is a big part of the Acting Corps. But beyond the actual acting, There Boot Camp 1 had a class that taught me all the stuff that isn't acting, it's called "The Business of Acting." While it didn't make be a better at acting, it made me a better actor, if you know what I mean. very important. And all the other classes made me a better actor. Taking my first steps into the exciting world of PAID acting. more

Boot Camp 2/27/2015

I like the military theme of the Acting Corps. By the way, it's not REALLY a military themes except in name, and in that it is intense. The teachers are real nice and don't yell like drill sergeants at all. It's warn and inviting. But it is a every day acting workout that gets you in acting shape quick. They call it boot camp because in the military that is what they put you through to get you in shape, and they don't mess around. I like that. I actually did go through boot camp, and I must say I enjoyed the one at The Acting Corps much more. more

Excellent tool to be utilized! 2/21/2015

The Actors Corps is an excellent tool to be utilized! They provide the opportunity to earn from industry professionals and grow into the best actor you you can be. All staff teachers and support staff with whom I've had the opportunity to interact have been very helpful, friendly and professional. In my opinion, The Actors Corps' mission is to provide a place for actors to learn and grow. I love that I was able to learn so many things under one roof. Often when I take a class, I take away something useful, but this time I took away so many things! more

I have always been interested in acting 2/15/2015

I have always been interested in acting, but just did not know where to start. I was working as a wedding photographer when I decided when I do go back and take an acting class class. I did a lot of research and decided on The Acting Corps. I met with Eugene Buica, The Artistic Director and we had a lengthy conversation. I decided to do the introduction to Meisner Class program, or Boot Camp I. Well, I fell in love with acting and The Acting Corps. I say it was an introduction to Meisner, but it was so much more then that, it was also cold reading and scene study, and more then I can't even put into words. The teachers really know how to pull things out of their students, stuff that you never thought you were able to do. Taking acting classes is fun, but it's not easy. I believe they are one of the greatest acting schools out there. The classes are about fifteen people per class, which is smaller then many places. This makes everyone get the attention they need as actors and students. If you're serious about taking an acting class and you want to give it a real try, I highly suggest The Acting Corps. more
