Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

Here on M1 Visa 1/18/2016

I am here in the U.S, on a M1 visa that is supported by The Acting Corps. It is a student visa, so I can not get a job, but that is all right as I have here to study acting in the world capital of acting, Los Angeles. I am very happy with my studies so far at The Acting Corps, and look forward to every new day of learning. The teachers and students are all great people and have made me feel most welcome. more

great school 1/3/2016

Be ready! 12/27/2015

I moved to the city with wrong expectations. As soon as the dust settles, I decided to stay and buckle down and do the right thing, which was to go to class and develop skills. It's a fact that networking has a lot to do with success, but when the chance comes, no matter how it comes, you better be ready with the skill to make them hire you, or if you somehow get a job without skill, you better have the skill so they hire you again. Don't let what could be your only chance pass you by, get good. I did at The Acting Corps. I'm ready for my chance! more

A shining beacon in the darkness 12/17/2015

In the darkness that is L.A., the acting corps is a shining beacon. In a city that boasts an acting school on pretty much every corner, there are a lot of ways to go wrong. There are a lot of schools that wants your money and will tell you that your acting is great, the acting corps is not a place like this. They will tell you the truth, and how to improve your craft. more

Missing the A.C. 12/12/2015

I'm home for the holidays and missing LA and my classes at The Acting Corps. I just finished up Boot Camp I and am going through withdrawal. And being hone in nowheres-ville does not help. As soon as I finish this review, I am going to pick up the phone and call The Acting Corps and sign up for the next available more

Very Good 11/22/2015

Very Good. Came to the acting corps with training as an actor, but not in Meisner. Very good. I read the book before starting class, but it didn't really all make sense until I put it into practice. Very good. Also was really able to apply my techniques to the scene work, love that it's all under the same program. Very good. more

A place for professionals 11/16/2015

The Acting Corps is a place for actors who take acting seriously, NOT people that want to show up late and watch other people learn. You will work in every class! It is expected that you be there on time and to act professionally, good practice for the real world. I love this because in other schools, I have been screwed over by a scene partner, but that doesn't happen here. This is a school for professionals and future professionals. more

GREAT PLACE 11/9/2015

I have a lot of hosting experience and some print work, too. But whenever I was on camera, I was myself. I had never really acted, though I am not a shy guy. For many actors, the biggest challenge in acting is nerves, for me it was not being me, or rather the me I present to the world when I interview people, to let the insecure parts live, and accept them. Meisner really got me there, and once I was there, it was a starting point to play characters that are not exactly me. Now some actors make a very good living at playing one character, but I don't want to be one of those. more

A fine program 10/26/2015

I'm from Florida, been in town about six months. Haven't taken in serious programs until now. Did a couple cold reading classes, but nothing more then practice really, no theory. But I committed to The Acting Corps and am loving it. Meisner is great, plus cold reading, so a little of both. And even the cold reading/scene study is better. Better teachers then the place I went before. more

Supportive and challenging 9/19/2015

With my Acting Corps training, I am improving faster than I ever have before. The work is fun, but also so helpful! I am learning how to trust myself and have fun. To play. Class here is supportive and challenging. more

I learned a lot at The Acting Corps 9/12/2015

I learned a lot at The Acting Corps and I think all my friends should go there. Many of them have. You work every class. more

Stand out from the pack 9/6/2015

If you want to stand out from the pack, you need to be the top dog. If you want to be the top dog, you have to take some good classes. And if you are looking for some good classes, look no further then The Acting Corps. I’m not going to go into all the details about the school, if you are serious about finding an acting class, you’re going to do your own research and not believe some stranger online, but do yourself a solid and check out The Acting Corps website. more

Experiencing new things 8/30/2015

I just started classes at The Acting Corps in North Hollywood, and I'm learning and experiencing new things every day. Even just watching others do Meisner and scenes I am learning, but make no mistake, I am up there on stage every session working. While it's Meinser for sure, it's not the traditional slow program, and it combines it with all sorts of other tricks and tips. Love it. more

How to start? 8/22/2015

I've been an actor for awhile, and I meet lots of newbies. The question I get most is "How do I start?" I can't even begin to tell you how appreciative I am of the Acting Corps. I decided to look into them and I was amazed and decided to take their Bootcamp I last June-July. They are so passionate about teaching. Amazing. Some of the exercises that are done might make you wonder what do they have to do with acting....but then is all comes together and you are in the moment and connected to your scene partner, and it gores so well. I finished Bootcamp so pleased and feeling ready for anything. It's worth it. getting ready for Bootcamp II. more

Taken for Granted 8/16/2015

The Acting Corps was the first school I went to when I came to Los Angeles. That was five years ago. I firmly believe in trying out different schools, so after I spent a pretty good time taking in what they had to offer, I moved on to another school, and then another. I didn't know what I'd stumbled upon until I'd been to several other schools and realized that they paled in comparison. I usually only stayed a month at these other places because aside from practice, they had little to offer. I took The Acting Corps for granted (my name is Grant, ha ha), thinking all schools were that awesome. So after seeing what else was out there, I came back and signed up for the advanced program at The Acting Corps. more

Now I know 8/9/2015

I came to L.A. a couple months ago and I didn't know anyone. Took me awhile to figure out what to do next, but I ended up at The Acting Corps, and the rest is history. I made connections with some great peers, and I learned a butt load on top of it. I'm just starting out, doing student films and that sort of thing, and I don't get as many auditions as I'd like, but I am booking 75% of the auditions I am getting, and I think the Acting Corps for this. I'm told this is a high percentage. more

The Big Things in Life 8/3/2015

Some of the big things we hope to attain in life, such as financial stability and a rewarding career, happen along an exponential growth curve. We have to work at it for a long time — years, even decades — before we see the reward of our labor. Knowing that before you start such a journey is key to staying motivated until the payoff comes. I love that quote, and it seems apt as my time at The Acting Corps contributed to my growth as an actor in a most profound way. more

Improv actor makes good 7/27/2015

I am an improv actor. have been for year Always had a hard time sticking to a script, and when I had to, I fell out of the moment. Now being in the moment was never an issue, so i did pretty well at the Meisner stuff, but it was when the scene work was combined with it that things really got interesting. At first, I had a hard time joining the two, but then I got it, and boy did I get it. Very good school. more

Boot Camp! 7/19/2015

I started taking classes at The Acting Corps this summer, and have finished Boot Camp I. I loved every day of my acting education! So much so that I am taking Boot Camp II! I graduated from college in May with my Bachelor’s in theatre. The Acting Corps has provided me with an excellent way of keeping my acting skills sharp while learning new one and how to adapt my stage training to the screen. There is a big difference by the way. In class, I actually discovered that my acting skills were not as strong as I might have thought. more

Stage2Screen 7/5/2015

Before my classes at The Acting Corps, I was well versed in stage acting. I auditioned for film and television a few times, but my inexperience on screen was holding me back. Even after my very first class at The Acting Corps I had a lot of tips to fix what I was doing wrong. Stage and screen are two different animals. Every classes I attended taught me something new. I got basic tips at first, and then as I applied them, they helped me dial in my performance even more. It was also helpful to see my classmates grow and improve. more
