Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

I Can't Wait 1/3/2017

Getting Ready to start Boot Camp II very soon! I loved the classes in Boot Camp I, but had to wait for the new year to get back to my training. It's 2017 baby! Happy New Year! Lets make some movies! more

Safe Place 12/26/2016

A safe place to learn your craft and get better at all aspects of acting. more

Great school. Cool curriculum. 12/18/2016

Great school. Cool curriculum. Not just one technique. Scene work. Lots of knowledge to be imparted to the students/actors. The best place I have found to study. Teachers awesome. more

To carry on 12/11/2016

Canadian by birth, married a working American actor. He passed away last year, but I want to carry on, so I decided to study at The Acting Corps. I actually have a resume, small roles in lots of my husband's films. I liked it, but I knew there is more to it then I did in these little roles. I really enjoy the work, and it is work. I don't know how far I'll go in the industry, but I want to give it a go. The Acting Corps is a wonderful place with great people all around. I am currently in class (almost done with BCI) and know I have a lot more to learn. And I plan to. more

Talent 12/5/2016

Lots of talented people teaching here, and a bunch more in the classes. The future Oscar winners I think. Hopefully I am one of them. Learned so much. more

Following my dreams 11/27/2016

Studied here a couple months back. I have always wanted to act, but went into the military out of high school. Out of the service now and I want to pursue my dream. I feel like I am a few years behind (though I have no regrets), but the Acting Corps has put me on the right path. One note I will say, while their Boot Camp program is a great acting program, it is not nearly as intensive as real boot camp. This is a good thing. more

SO GOOD! 11/13/2016

So good. I have finished Boot Camp 1 and I feel like I am well on my way. All the teachers were great, but I have to give a special shout out to Elena, she was my favorite. I love that she was strict, but fair and clearly cared about the students. Don't get me wrong, all the teachers were great, but I feel like I just connected most with her. Meisner is something I have never explored before, and I do still get caught up in my head sometimes, but it's already making all the difference in my acting. I know I have more to learn and practice, but I am so glad I am off to the good start. more

Da Bomb! 10/29/2016

Meisner is da bomb! Most classes I had taken involved sense memory or getting in the head of the character. Sometimes this is great, but sometimes it didn't work for me. Meisner put them in my head and then all I have to do is be in the moment! Ok, there is a bit more to it then that, but it's an approach I had not explored and I love it. I also like that The Acting Corps don't make you do a multi year program of just Meisner, and they have so much more! more

Don't Waste Time! 10/24/2016

Don't wast time trying to break into the business without the proper training, just sign up at The Acting Corps and get the training you need. I took classes at other places, but it was just basic cold reading stuff and I didn't know what I was missing. Looking back at the missed opportunities, the auditions I went to and just did good enough, not great. If you are not amazing at an audition, then what's the point? I'm glad I found the Acting Corps, I just wish it had been three years earlier! more

Acting Corps 10/10/2016

The Acting Corps is a great place where I am learning so much. I'm not sure if I am going to stick with acting because it is a lot of work, and there is no guarantee, but I'm glad to be learning it the right way. I had a class before that was the wrong way, very shallow. I like all this Meisner stuff and being in the moment. It is NOT all about memorizing lines and not laughing on stage. more

New to Acting 10/2/2016

Fairly new to acting and very new to Cali, love the Acting Corps. It's my first exposure to many of the techniques they teach. Previous experience was more along the lines of basic cold reading and a bit of Strasberg, which is not what the Acting Corps is about (thankfully as that was hit or miss for me). Meisner is much more consistent, which IS what they teach (among other things). My story is like many people, I was looking for a class, I saw an ad for The Acting Corps. Looked at the website, checked out the place and talked to people, and signed up. I did check out other places two, and even audited a couple, but I really felt the AC was the place for me. more

A shot in the arm 9/18/2016

I loved learning Meisner at the acting corps. I studied Strasberg before, but kinda lost my passion for it and needed a shot in the arm. Meisner is so different and for me, more effective. And I love that they also do scene work. I have heard that most Meisner programs don't introduce text for months, so I am glad this I found the non-traditional acting corps approach. Technique is all we and good, but until it's connected to the text, I find fit abstract. I've been in LA acting for years, and going to the acting corps was the best decision I made in a long time. more

second time's a charm 9/12/2016

I love the acting corps, and I have seen the other side, I took a very bad class elsewhere. At the acting corps they deliver what they promise and they actually care about me becoming a better actor. When I got to town and didn't know better I ended up at a place that just wanted my money and to keep me taking classes. I am embarrassed how long it took me to realize this. more

Native Angelino 9/4/2016

I just signed up at the Acting Corps a couple weeks back! It's great! Here is my story: I'm a native Angelino who has acted a bit as a hobby, but never as a career, until now. I ended up in a friends film, and it went to a film festival in Monrovia. I attended and saw lots of films, and then I saw ours. It was terrible. Many people told me I was the best thing in it, nut that was a low bar. How did it get into the festival? My friend knew someone I think. But I loved the festival, and I loved all the other films I saw (well, most), and I want to be a part of that world! I know I am not great, so I decided to take some classes, and so I found the Acting Corps. I know, my story is a long way to go to simply say I found this school and I really like it so far, but that's what I'm saying. I want to be in good films, and I think what I am learning at The Acting Corps will help with this. more

Up to speed 8/7/2016

The Acting Corps got me up to speed. I feel like I got started late because I did opt act in high school. I'm from a small town and there was really nothing to act in until I graduated and moved away. I went to The Acting Corps because it was a five days a week school and I wanted to make up for lost time. I no longer feel like I am behind the curve thanks to the great teaching at The Acting Corps! more

Speedy Meisner 8/1/2016

New to town from Georgia. Have a few credits from there, but it was time to move up. Asked friends, ended up at The Acting Corps. Never learned Meisner before but didn't want to commit to a multi-year program. Loved it. I was already a good actor, but not I am better. Deeper. More range. In the moment. more

At least check them out 7/31/2016

I found the Acting Corps through a banner add on some website. I'd seen it a few times and I finally clicked on it not expecting much. When I looked at what they offered, I was intrigues. I decided to check them out so I gave them a call. One week later, I was signed up for Boot Camp I. As you have probably guessed from the five star rating I gave it, I liked them a bit. I do plan to take Boot Camp II there as soon as I have the time and money for it. At the very least you should look at their website. I don't know if I'm allowed to put the web address here, but it's real easy to find, it's just actingcorps.com more

The right place 7/18/2016

I came to LA right out of college and started looking for targeting training right away. I knew of Meisner, and I knew the basics, but I hadn't really studied it, so I went looking for a place. I looked into all the usual suspects, the two year programs like The Meisner Center and placed like that. Then I heard about the Acting Corps that had a version that was quicker. I asked around an no one had anything negative to say about them, so I took a chance and signed up. It was the right choice, I loved my time there! more

Against all odds!!!! 7/10/2016

I'm a little older, and a woman, so I know my odds are slim in the acting business, as sad as that is, but I am doing it anyway. All the folks at the Acting Corps are so supportive, both teachers and students. I have acted in my life, but it was never my career, and I love that I am getting back into it, and I am doing it right. I studied other techniques back before, but never Meisner. I like it. I have always been one to speak my mind and go after what I want, so it's a nature match for me. I just didn't know it was an acting thing. Even if nothing comes of my career, I am so glad I am doing it! Follow your dreams, and don't have fear! more

Expaniding my range 7/3/2016

I'm a character actor, and there is nothing wrong with that. I always play pretty much the same character and that was my comfort zone. You might have seen me in something, but you wouldn't know my name. Then I went to the Acting Corps and expanded my range and learned to really develop a character, not to just play a version of myself. It's great to play roles that are different! I still book mostly character stuff when it comes to paid TV work, but I am doing indie films in which I am a regular person, and I love it. And I am booking! And that is thanks to the Acting Corps! more
