Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

Awesome acting studio! 9/20/2014

Awesome acting studio! The Acting Corps gave me all the tools I needed to get my career going. I learned industry info, audition techniques, Meisner technique, cold reading, scene study, and more! After taking classes at The Acting Corps, I was picked up by a great Los Angeles agency! That was in 2013, and I've been a working actor ever since! They gave me a solid foundation to be a confident, prepared actor when I walk into a room to audition. more

Pay it forward 9/13/2014

A friend recommended the Acting Corps to me last month, she had gone and loved them, so I said I would go check them out. I had no idea what to expect. I talked the the gals in the office, and it sounded nice, but they are paid to sell the classes. They do not allow audits as they are disruptive to class, but I spoke to some of the students leaving, and I was extremely impressed. The all loved the classes and said basically the same things my friend said. I didn't sign up until I got my tax return, but after that, it was on. Now I keep hoping someone will ask me about the class so I can pay it forward, but so far no one has. I have told friends, and now I am telling you and the mysterious Judy (who owns this book). more

Hey hey hey! 9/7/2014

Five days a week of training and fun, and no matter how much you know, you will learn something before it's done! Hey hey hey! (Yes, I know that the first part of that rhymed) more

Start my day with a the AC 9/1/2014

Love to start my day with the Daily Workout! While I love (most of) the people in my class, I feel like the morning workout is for the ultra-dedicated people, it's the extra step. And I love going into the regular class warmed up and ready to go. It's like going to an audition and just doing ok, and then as you leave, you wish you could do it again, but it's too late. I'm going into class warmed up and ready to go, I don't need a do-over. I do my best the first time. I mean, sure, it's class, it's a place to make mistakes, and I do, but I like to put my best self forward and make the best mistakes I can make! more

Amazing acting studio 8/24/2014

Amazing acting studio and an excellent addition to my training repertoire. The teachers are amazing and the classes are great. I highly recommend checking this place out if the acting bug ever bites you. You'll be inspired. If you are just starting out or looking to up your game, this is a great place to study! I loved every week and all I thought about on the weekend was that I couldn't wait for Monday to come! It was mind blowing. Loved it! more

Ready to audition! 8/17/2014

I've been at to The Acting Corps for a couple of months. My friend and I went in to check out the place and talk to people before and, and we decided to go for it together.. You can tell that they really knows what she's talking about. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing if what I am giving is good and have been known to question direction that teaches have given me. But when I see the improvement among my classmates when they apply the direction, I feel confident that my scene work is also getting better. And it does feel better. I love that I have seen my friend get so much better too. And I love that the teachers will tell you when you are not getting it. I have seen one or two people just not connect with a scene, and they are not coddled. I won't go into an more detail about that, but I know that I feel a lot more comfortable and ready to audition than I ever have been in the past. I am currently a student in Boot Camp II and it's going great so far. I can already see more improvement in myself. more

If Not Now, When? 8/10/2014

There is a sign on the wall when you walk into the studio: "If Not Now, When," and that's *very* accurate. You have to be serious if you sign up for a five day a week program, but it is an investment in yoiur career, and a very worthwhile one. They will give all their effort to help you, but you have to give them your all too. If you really love acting, then don't you owe it to yourself to go after that thing with your whole heart? Otherwise what's the point? And why wait? Get it done! If not now, when? more

Don't be a chicken 8/3/2014

Don't be a chicken, just do it! First I was afraid, I was petrified. I didn't want to spend the money or do the work. But my dream was important to me, so I took the leap. I took the plunge. Glad I did. Loved the Acting Corps. Picked a winner. I am a winner now. Love my life! Acting is not therapy, but sometimes it seems like it, and in a way is. more

Actors take notice 7/30/2014

All actors should take notice of this acting school, they are very good. Friendly staff and a great facility. but all that is just icing on the cake. The real meat of a school (mixed metaphors anyone?) is in the teaching, and the teachers at The Acting Corps are spectacular! And it's not like a school where you just gain the wisdom of one professional, at the Acting Corps you have a Meisner teacher, and you have a scene teacher, and you have a Actors’ Instrument teacher, that is three teachers! I thought they were all great! more

A school the way I like it 7/20/2014

I really clicked with the acting corps. It was not always easy but it was always worth being there. The teachers were great and the people in the classed were all dedicated actors. I expect to see some of my classmates in the movies very soon as there were some really talented folks there. I hope I am one of them. more

I just booked my first guest star role! 7/13/2014

I just booked my first guest star role! And I thank The Acting Corps for it. Why do I thank them? Because I just finished their Boot Camp 2, and they are the the only ones I have taken classes from in Los Angeles, so who else would I thank? My agent, sure, and I know I did hard work but I couldn't have done it without them. So to say thank you, aside from the note I sent them, I am writing this review for them to spread the good word of the Acting Corps! more

Can't beat full time 7/6/2014

As far as I am concerned, the more time spent in class, the better. This school has classes five days a week. Adding in rehearsal times and The Daily Workout, which is an optional add on that I took, going to class was almost like a job. And that is what acting is, a job. It's not something you can just do as a hobby, not if you want to make a career out of it. Take it seriously. The acting Corps takes it seriously, and that is why I highly recommend them. Don't waste time with one day a week BS, get it done! more

Muy Bien 6/29/2014

Hello. I am from Spain. I attended the acting corps for three months while I was in Los Angeles, and I liked them very much. I want to go back to Los Angeles again soon, and this time with a work visa I hope, so I can start looking for an agent and auditioning for real projects. After I took classes with The Acting Corps, I did do a few films, but they were student things so they let me do it. Los Angeles has the best acting schools in the world, and I think The Acting Corps is the best of the best. I took classes herein Spain, but The Acting Corps was better by far. And in the heart of the movie industry too. Not to mention acting in English is what I need to be doing to break into the American movie market. Also, they had a class about losing my accent, which wasn't as bad as some, but I need to have the ability to sound American to expand my casting opportunities! more

Work Every Class 6/21/2014

The one that that really gets me is when I pay my hard earned money for a class and then I do nothing. I just sit there and watch. This never happened at The Acting Corps. I when I say worked, I do not mean getting up for a warm-up or some token activity, I mean worked. Weather it's on a scene or a Meisner activity, I was up there learning every singles class. I am not making a lot of money yet, and acting classes are expensive, so I am very careful where I take classes. The Acting Corps is a winner and well worth the cost. more

Sometimes it takes a little investment to get to the next level!! 6/15/2014

Never stop taking classes. If you think you know all there is to know about acting, you know nothing. I didn't have a lot of money, so I didn't take classes for a long time, but them it dawned on me that I was not doing myself any favors. I finally decided to bite the bullet and shell out some money, and I am glad I did. I went to The Acting Corps and learned so much. My acting is leaps and bounds better and I am booking roles. Sometimes it takes a little investment to get to the next level!! more

Texan in LA 6/1/2014

I am from Texas, the best state in the US, but not the best state to be an actor in. Bit of a culture shock here, but I'm doing good, and in no small part because of The Acting Corps. It's five days a week, so I bonded to these people, these actors, and we improved as a group. About half the group continued on to Boot Camp 2. That's where I am now, still there at The Acting Corps, still learning. Starting to audition. Building a resume. Learning the ropes. I love the accelerated program they have because I am not a guy who likes to waste time. more

In the moment 5/25/2014

People in my class were of all ages, genders, shapes and sizes. All walks of life. Well, to be fair, they come from all walks of life, but they all have an interest in acting, and that common interest bonded us all together, and I am still friends with most of them. The classes were not easy, but they helped me a lot. I am a larger woman, and as an actor, I have to own that. And I do. It's not going to do me any good if I think of myself as a leading lady, that is not hat I'll be cast as. This is not to say I can not have a lead role, but I mean the classic leading lady role, I think you know what I mean. Meisner, acting in the moment and all that, people speaking the truth in the moment, that hard at first. But I needed it. We actors have to have a thick skin, especially character actors. Anyway, I can not say enough nice things about them. Very supportive. Great staff. I learned a metric ton. more

The Acting Corps reminded me why I love acting. 5/19/2014

The Acting Corps reminded me why I love acting. One of the many great things about The Acting Corps is that no matter what experience you have, you will get something out of it, and you will work every class. This is a serious acting school, they want you to be actively learning and improving. The Boot Camp programs are well tailored with a good balance of technique and scene work. The teachers at The Acting Corps were great, as was the general attitude of the place, and the administration. I highly recommend The Acting Corps to serious actors looking not only for a great scene study class that also has technique. Meisner. Also for inspiration and motivation. more

And I had fun!! 5/12/2014

I began training at the Acting Corps over a year ago and the knowledge and skill I have acquired during this time has changed my life. Not just my acting, my life!! None of this would have been possible without the ability of their amazing teaching staff’s ability to help the actor find the way in to the material. Words just can't do justice to how I feel about this school. They have guided so many performers down the right path, there are so many more amazing actors out there because of The Acting Corps. They are my competition, so that sucks, but at least I am one of them. I really appreciate her organic approach to the material, being in the moment, so I can discover and play it how I connect to it, rather than just saying the words on the page. And I had fun. more

VERY challenging 5/4/2014

After having taken the Boot Camp I course I can honestly say that the experience exceeded even my lofty expectations and it was worth every penny. It was hard! This was not a cake walk! The teachers challenge everyone to make them better, or with Meisner, to make them open up to the moment. In a constructive way. They are very good at identifying areas where improvement is needed. Come prepared to work from day one, and you will work every day. At the end of the day, you will only get out what you put in. I plan to take Boot Camp II over the summer, after taking a month off to rest from all that hard work! more
