Thank you for all that you and your staff have done for myself and the Community. You have always been responsive to our needs and you and your folks have excellent follow up so I’ve never sat wandering ‘whats going on with my request.’ You’ve been a huge help with a couple of requests I’ve made here recently while trying to get our house ready to put on the market, and Talis has been great in getting things done quickly, so again, thank you to you and your staff for doing a fantastic job…keep up the good work!! more

The Worst of the Worst HOA 10/16/2010

Buyer BEWARE!!!! BEWARE!!!!! This is the worst HOA ever!!! They do not respond to serious issues for wihch they are responsible. They make decisions regarding your home, for which you pay the mortgage, that are totally incorrect and unreasonable. They do not properly maintain the exterior, as is their responsibility, and when interior damage results, they claim you are responsible for the expense of repair. The contractors they hire are low end, do shoddy work and damage your personal items and landscaping. You will be forced to makeyour own exterior repairs at your expense. The staff leaves much to be desired. The community has deteriorated rapidly in the past 3 years. My home has suffered serious siding and water damage which has resulted in extreme wood rot and termite/carpenter damage to the entire structure. They refuse to take responsibility. BE FORWARNED!!!DO NOT purchase a home in this community!!!! My insurance company has warned that they will no longer continue to cover my home if all damages are not remediated. HOA could care less!!!! more

WORST Homeowners Association Ever 9/24/2010

Beware of Talis - they are horrible. I have found them to be the most incompetent, inefficient HOA ever. They refuse to respond to any requests. If they finally get around to a reply, they are rude. More importantly, they can't manage their funds. They hire horrible staff and it shows in their treatment of their "clients" - the people actually paying the bills. Stay AWAY from them. Talis Is An Excellent Organization 9/20/2010

I have lived at Winchester Pointe for ten years. Five of these years I have served on the Board of the Homeowner's Association for Winchester Pointe. Talis has been the property manager for Winchester at least since I moved there in 2000. As a board member I am very well acquainted with Talis and their job performance. Their service is excellent and response time to questions and problems very prompt. I am particularly impressed with Bonnie Giles our current property manager. She is very efficient and pro-active in alerting our Board to subjects that need attention and keeping us abreast of changing rules and regulations. A Property Manager's job is to assist a homeowner's association in enforcing the rules and regulations set forth in the By-Laws of the Association. The Board makes the decisions on how the homeowner's dues are spent to maintain the community and they also vote on any fines to be levied on homeowners who are in violation of the rules set forth in the B-Laws. So, when CarolinaGirl74, who made comments below, complains about how awful Talis is because they "nickel and dimed" her, it was not Talis, but the Board who approved these "nickels and dimes" Talis is just the messenger. Talis is an excellent organization. more

Townhome Managed Well 9/15/2010

I am very puzzled by Carolinagirl74’s comments in the review below. Talis is a MANAGEMENT company that acts at the board of director’s direction. When you buy a townhouse you are still a homeowner and the responsibilities as a homeowner are spelled out in the Association’s covenants. Many of us, including myself, have incurred large unexpected expenses in the last year. I suppose that is the downside of ownership. We have cameras to protect our property and we had pictures of Carolinagirl74’s daughter at 2:00 in the morning breaking our entrance gate. That is clearly their expense. The damage to their house is also an owner expense. I think we owe Bonnie Giles our manager and Talis Management a vote of thanks for dealing with many difficult situations. more

Talis is AWFUL 6/16/2010

Talis is horrible. I feel sorry for you if you move to a location where they are 'in charge'. They blame homeowners for everything and never take responsibility for anything!!!! They nickel and dime you for everything yet when it comes time for them to do something, like repair a cracked driveway, they ignore requests. There are countless examples we have experienced that show what a HORRIBLE company this is. I cannot wait to move out of there on August 1st--after living there since 1996... Pros: nothing Cons: everything. more

As a homeowner and president of Falconbridge Homeowners Association, I can say without reservation that we are extremely fortunate to have Talis as our management company and Joel Stangis as our community manager. Every day, Joel can be seen talking to Falconbridge residents and supervising maintenance work. Talis' service, knowledge, responsiveness, and professionalism are exceptional. I have worked with four management companies, one in Virginia, one in South Carolina and two here in Falconbridge. Only Talis has lived up to and often exceeded the terms of its contract. I am entering my fifth year as FHA president. Talis and Joel have not only made my job easier than it otherwise would have been, but also more productive. Both the organization and the man represent the best of their profession. Pros: Knowledge, Customer Service, Follow-up Cons: None more
