Southern AZ Endodontics got me in within a half hour of my call. They treated with my compassion and kindness. I felt like everyone truly cared and understood my anxiety. I even received a follow up call the next morning to ensure I was doing okay and to see if I had questions. I highly recommend this office to anyone. The level of customer service was superb. A little pricey, but excellent care. I went there fearing the worst after a different dentist put in an expensive and deep filling in my far rear lower left molar too close to the nerve and left me in intense pain. Dr. John Smith evaluated my tooth and determined it probably should have had a root canal to begin with and that it would probably continue to cause increasing amounts of pain as the nerve died. I agreed. A little more than an hour later the root canal was done. It was a nearly painless experience. My only complaint -- I still have to follow up with my normal dentist to have the temporary filling replaced with a permanent crown. I grew up seeing a wonderful dentist in Florida who did everything himself and never disappointed me in 30 years. Nowadays, many dentists won't do root canals -- they send you to a specialist like Dr. Smith who does the root canal and then you go back to your normal dentist for the permanent crown. So that's the only reason I'm giving 4.5 instead of 5 stars -- I would have liked to get it all taken care of in a single visit to a single office like I used to in Florida, but I have no doubt that Dr. Smith did an excellent job and I would recommend Southern AZ Endodontics to anyone worried about getting a root canal or who isn't sure if they need one. more

My experience at Southern Arizona Endodontics was as good as any could expect needing a root canel. Mouth open with a bite block, shots, drilling, poking, pulling, smell, tears, pressure, light, questions like "are you OK?". Seriously,great doctor, great staff, keep up the good work. more

My experiences with Southern Arizona Endodontics were positive and excellent in every way. They were attentive and made me feel completely comfortable. They were professional, explained what they were doing, followed up the next day, and so forth. What a patient does not know is how well various procedures were carried out i.e. the levels of technical competence and execution. But it certainly seemed to me, just from the way they did their work, its speed and efficiency, that they did everything to a very high level of skill. I have waited 2 or 3 weeks after the procedure before writing this and everything has developed as they said it would (basically a return to full normality). I would have no hesitation, or even concern or nervousness, about going there again. And I would certainly recommend them to others without qualification. more

Everyone was very nice to me including staff and dentist. My complaint is that i was there for 2 hours. An hour of that I sat in my chair on nitrous(which eventually made me sick because i was on it too long) with out the dentist even working on me. He was in the room maybe an hour out of the two hours. Being on nitrous for an hour and a half total made me sick and made me feel horrible all the way until the next day. Im sure the dentist was busy but maybe he shouldnt have over booked or rescheduled with some. I would have rather waited in the waiting room for an hour than being on nitrous and getting sick and feeling like crap for 24 hours. more

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Funk. His experience with my oral surgery was fantastic. It was quick and almost entirely pain-free. Even afterward, although my cheek is swollen (it was explained to me that this is normal), there is almost no pain--despite having 6 sutures in my gums. Wow. My biggest complaint is the price. I was given a fairly substantial discount, but even then it was the better part of a thousand dollars for about an hours worth of work. Ouch! My wallet hurt a lot more than my mouth after that! more

I felt comfortable at my visit today. The staff were friendly. The rose that was given to me on my way out made me smile! more
