Jay spent hours of his time working with me directly to resolve issues with my Onkyo AV Receiver. His product knowledge and trouble shooting abilities are unsurpassed in the field. He insisted on in-depth testing before sending my unit out for repair. The end result was that the unit did not need repair and the source of the problem was indeed another component in my system. He saved me hundreds of dollars in unnecessary shipping and repair center charges. I won't use another company for my audio needs. more

Needed 2 new rear door speakers for my truck. My associate was knowledgeable, showed me multiple choices, knew each product. Asked what range of tone I was looking for and helped me decide what was best. No upsale, let me decide. Offered installation service, when I said I would do it myself, offered install advice. Will reccomend and will return for my next audio or visual experience. Definitely not Best Buy. more

I have been a customer of Sound of Tri State since 1986, I continue to refer customers to them. No one ever provides or touches the stereos, remote starter, alarms with the exception of Sound of Tri State. With that being said, this was my first experience dealing with Marlo Abston, and as always I was not disappointed, Marlo went above and beyond my expectations, his superior customer service that he provided me along with his prompt service is again the main reason I stay with Sound of Tri State. more

my daughter wanted additional subwoofers added to her sound system as a graduation gift. she wanted tons of power. i was concerned about the size of the components, the quality of the sound, and how they would affect her existing sound system... which is integrated with her nav system, hands-free phone, and voice commands. kelly was very knowledgeable about the available products and their performance. he answered all my questions and helped me overcome my reservations. he found components that were compact in size but delivered the power my daughter was looking for. and he helped us manage our budget for the system. more

I was interested in installing satellite radio in my 2007 Pontiac Vibe which was equipped with a standard GM radio. The expert in satellite radio at Sound of Tri-State directed me to the options that were available in XM and Sirius units and the recommended way to install them. Apart from changing out the head unit at greater expense, I went with the add-on XM receiver and FM direct unit. I had previously been looking at Best Buy but their employees didn't really seem to be well-versed in satellite radio especially where my particular car was concerned. I read some reviews on-line for both Best Buy and Tri State and discovered quite a few complaints about Best Buy's service and installation expertise and good reviews for Tri-State. I decided to go with a company (Audio of Tri- State)that deals primarily in car audio and accessories because I thought the installation would be more professional. (I might pay a little more but I would be more satisfied in the long-run.) So far, I am almost completely satisfied (on the fourth day of use). The only question I have is that the XM unit I bought was installed on the "on" power circuit instead of "accessory" power circuit forcing me to power the car completely on to listen to the unit when the engine isn't running. I was going to go back to the branch of Audio of Tri-State to see if this could be changed but haven't had time yet. Just a note: I am from Upstate New York here on family business and will probably be driving up and back a few times in the near future so not having to listen to local radio stations along-the-way is great! more

Sound of Tri-State really helped me out when I needed it and they did great work! All I needed was to have a head-unit wired, but the wiring was a nightmare. I will definately go back in the future for my car audio. I was even impressed by the staff when there was a customer was acting out-of-line; being completely rude and using foul language. The staff gladly answered any questions I had and double-checked with me about anything in question. more
