Worst

I thought the price was way to high. How do you go from a $99 special to a total charge of $288.93? And they charge $49 just to come out and look?? They should adjust their prices...

We live in the Detroit area and woke up to 3 inches of sewage water in our basement. I called Roto Rooter because I have heard about such great things about their plumbers. They came out in about 3 1/2 hours and unclogged our drains. The plumber was incredibly nice and talked to our insurance agent on the phone to let him know what was clogging our drains. He even suggested a restoration company that came right away and got our basement cleaned and dried out. I was surprised about the price. I have seen commercials for 99 dollar drain cleaning but this cost us 500 dollars. I will continue to recommend Roto Rooter but I will let my friends and family be aware of the heavy cost. more

Roto Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service 1/19/2012

I have to say due to a really really bad experience with an independent plumber a few years back, I almost have an anxiety attack if I think I might need a plumber. I'm happy to be able to say though that my entire experience with Roto Rooter was positive I live in the Livonia area, where we recdently had several water main breaks. The city repaired their end of it but it left me with a backed up basement drain . They were pleasant, courteous and helpful on the phone when I was trying to set up an appointment. Indicated they would have someone here between 8:00am and 5:00 pm the next day. They promised me the plumber would call about half an hour before he would be here. As promised he called, showed up at the time he had said. His name was Kendall, and was cheerful, helpful, very direct and straight forward. Checked everything out to narrow down the problem, said my main drain was clear and went to work on the problem. He was quick, and had the job done in about an hour. The problem was solved and the price was reasonable. I am definitely a happy camper. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else. more

Professional service 1/16/2012

January 16, 2012 - Professional, courteous service.\r I live in the South West Detroit area. Roger, the service techincian, was very knowledgible and courteous. He checked out the pipes in the kitchen & bathroom, then went into the attic where he showed me the main stack & explained how he was going to unclog it. I very was impressed with his willingness to explain the procedure and answer questions. After cutting and replacing a portion of the pipe, he did an excellent job cleaning up. He as very through, and insured that none of my property was soiled.\r I would reccommed Roto-Rooter to anyone with a confidence that they would be pleased with the service. more

Roto-Rooter - GREAT SERVICE!! 1/15/2012

I am writing on behalf of my 78 year old mother-in-law, Elizabeth who does not have access to the internet. Elizabeth was extremely impressed and grateful for the superb Plumber service from your Detroit location she received from the service technician, Eric D. Eric was extremely polite, informative, and gave her several options to resolve the problem. Price is a huge factor for Elizabeth, as with so many senior citizens these days. She was not able to afford to replace the toilet, but instead Eric replaced the valve and flapper. Eric also made sure to clean up the area before leaving. The service she received was as if she was family or a special customer and he really cared to help her. Thank you again for the awesome service she received! Elizabeth will definitely call on Roto-Rooter should she ever need your services again.\r more

By far the best plumber in the Detroit area. Our serviceman was polite and informative. He answered all of my questions, and had a great deal of knowledge about my area. He did a camera cable and invited me and my children to watch! The ONLY company I will call. more

Fast and Effective service! 1/3/2012

All of our bathroom plumbing was backing up... we couldn't use our bathtub, shower, toilet or bathroom sink. When you're living in a 1-bath house with two boys, this situation isn't any fun. \r \r We called Roto-Rooter and they came out to the house within 2 hours. They used their machine right in the drain of the toilet and a few minutes later our pipes were cleared! Apparently a tree in the backyard had roots that found their way into our pipes.\r \r The man that came in was nice, friendly and most importantly knew what he was doing! Before he left, he even patched up a little piece of missing grout on our bathroom floor! I have absolutely no complaints and would use them again. more

fast friendly service roto - rooter 1/2/2012

Tried to do it myself and failed called roto rooter on new years eve and they came out first thing the next morning and fixed the problem. He explained everything and what my problem was and they guarentee it for 6 months fantastic service and thanks. more

Roto Rooter Plumbers - 1/2/12 1/2/2012

My basement drain had been backing up for about a month. I tried snaking it myself with a hand snake, no luck. Tried renting a snake from Home Depot, still no luck. I broke down and called Roto Rooter and they came out the next day and did a GREAT job! The plumber knew exactly what he was doing and fixed it within 20 minutes. I will call Roto-Rooters again in the future. more

Our main to our house was plugged, a Detroit area Roto-Rooter plumber came out and ran his 100ft power snake to it's max with no luck to unplug. So he suggested Hydro Jet system which we agreed was our next best option. It worked great in which the camera showed no major issues but the grade has a dip in it so it don't drain properly. They treated house treated our house as thier own and was repectful of the house and pets. Thank you for the great survice :) more

Our kitchen sink was clogged and the plumber that they sent to us did a good job cleaning and unclogging the kitchen pipes. We will definitely use them again in the future if we get plumbing issues. more

Great Service 12/23/2011

Our toilet had been leaking for over a week when we finally got around to calling for estimates. Not only was Roto-Rooter the most reasonable, but David was friendly and to the point (quick) to get the job done. We will definately use them again in the future if we have any plumbing issues! more

4TH TIME'S A CHARM 12/14/2011

We tried snaking out the main drain (of the 50 year-old Livonia home we moved into a year ago) ourselves 3 times over the last 5 months only to find out that the snake we rented from Home Depot was 50 feet and our main drain ran a total of 93 feet. After viewing the length of our drain with their camera, our efforts had barely addressed the roots in the pipes. Roto-Rooter came out within two hours of the call. They weren't cheap, but after throwing away hundreds of dollars on rental equipment and nearly 20 disgusting hours of my do-it-yourself time delaying the inevitable, my wife and I are happy to say we can shower and flush at the same time - Guaranteed! The technician they sent, Pat Walsh, was highly proficient. I’d recommend this company highly. more

We called roto-rooter (1st time calling a plumber out ever...already scary) and they had Dave out here in no time at all. He cleaned out the sink drain and answered all the questions we had about what drain goes where, etc. and was friendly and helpful the whole time. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. more

Reliable and Knowledgable 12/12/2011

Had an appointment set up online, which was really easy and fast. They called to confirm, then also called 30 minutes before they came. They happened to be able to come early so they called to see if that would be okay. As the service tech was here I was asking him some questions, and he had no problem answering them. I will definitely be using them again if I need anything else!! more
