Pure Nv Salon & Day Spa

My sister married over the weekend and we all had our hair done at Pure NV. My sister asked if I would write a review about how happy she was with her services! She had her makeup done at 5 other salons and hated it. So when we went to NV the day before the wedding to have her makeup done she absolutely loved it. All of the bridesmaids (including myself) LOVED our hair! Everyone was very friendly and really took the time with our hair and makeup. My sister was so happy she started crying. If this salon made my sister this happy then they have to be good because she is very picky. My sister and I want to thank Pure NV for making us look beautiful and taking the time to care . WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I made an appointment w/Amy (the owner) for my 2 boys. Waited for 25 minutes, no one ever came to me and said Amy would be with me soon, the girl at the counter was busy entertaining a young boy. Amy was slowly sweeping all area's around her, talking and taking her own sweet time. I asked the girl at the counter, if she new I was here. She said, ""yeah, she knows, and yelled ""Amy she's here"". Amy did not even look up and kept sweeping like a snail as I am standing next to the counter in disbelief. Finally I walked up to her and asked her, do you know I am waiting?"" she said ""yeah, I need to get this cleaned up"", did not even look at me. I Don't think I have ever felt so angry. MY TIME MEANT NOTHING TO HER. SHE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO TREAT HER CUSTOMERS AND SO DOES HER STAFF. AMY, YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS OWNING A SALON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From your attitude, you don't give a crap, but you lost me, my 2 boys as a customer and I am spreading the word! more

I purchased a gift certificate through their website, which I THOUGHT was a very convenient option. I gave the certificate as a birthday gift & assumed that would be the last of it. Exactly 1 month later I received a phone call stating they never attempted to take the funds from my debit card until now & now there were insufficient funds. No kidding. I budgeted that purchase a month ago! They proceeded to explain how I could go into the salon & purchase a new gift certificate, but the one I gave as a gift was now invalid. Now, not only do I have to make the trip to the salon to purchase a new certificate, defeating the entire online purchase in the first place, but I also have to explain to the person I gave the gift certificate to & give them a new one, all because of the salon's own mishap. What a headache! more

Recieved a groupon for a Massage and hair services and was very pleased! My massage with Jeremy was very relaxing and wonderful. Went back a few days later to get my hair colored and cut by Amy and she was very helpful on all my problems i have with my hair. She took her time and showed me how to work with my trouble spots. Best color and haircut i have had in a very long time. Staff was very friendly and helpful with my needs. more

Used my groupon here yesterday and had my hair and pedicure done!!! Great services and a wonderful time. Pedi was one of the best and my hair never looked so good!! I will be back and i highly recommend this place! more

I love my cut.. but, every time I get a highlight here... I feel like its not close enough to my root. So, I go home looking like I have ROOTS when I just paid 75 bucks to get them taken care of. Also, I showed up on-time for my appt. Sat there watching the girl finish with her appt before me. Then she disappeared and left me sitting in the lobby for 22 minutes before she took me back to start on my hair. Ugg... I will not be coming back here. more

Great place been going there for 4 years. I followed the owner from another salon. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have everything you need all in one place. You can have manicures, pedicures, get a relaxing massage and makeup done. The staff and atmoshere is wonderful. Pure nv is a must for anyone including men. Check it out for yourself. more

I was at this salon a few weeks ago to have all of our hair and makeup done for my wedding and loved loved loved my hair and makeup! All of my wedding party looked fab!!! My hair looked great the next day even after i slept on it!! I will go back here for other services!! The staff were very friendly and i love how the place looks!! more

Just got home from Pure NV and had my hair colored and cut and my hair looks amazing!! Amy did a wonderful job! My hair never looked so good she did exactly what i wanted. Place is very nice and everyone seems very friendly! Also my co-workers all come here and have never had a bad expierence with any of the stylist! Never been so happy with my hair and am pleased with my experience here:)\r Pros: Awesome place more

05/28/2010 Let me start off with the positives of the salon which were the decor and the friendly environment. I was there for a full set of highlights and a trim on my haircut. The highlights were done wonderfully and just what I had asked for but then the haircut came and it became an unrepairable MISTAKE. I asked for a trim on my cut and explained that it involved the technique called ""undercutting"" so that the top layer just looks like a blunt cut but underneath all the layers are hidden thus thinning my thick hair. What I received was nothing like this and it honestly looks like my hair was attacked with a weed wacker. The sides are not even and in the back my hair is stacked which I absolutly hate it looks ridiculous on me. In the front I was robbed of 3 1/2 inches of my hair when remember I had just asked for a trim! Now in my opinion the girl that did my hair was not well versed enough to know what undercutting was and if that was the case I would have rather she let me know this then assault my hair like she did. I spent the entire night crying. I honestly can't even look in the mirror right now because it upsets me so much (I am not generally such a vain person but this was out of control). I now look like a boy with this unflattering and poorly done cut. After I left I called the salon to speak with the manager and he was very sympathetic and helpful and had me come back in, but sadly there is nothing that can magically grow my hair back out. They did refund my money and were apologetic of the mistake which I appreciated. However I am going to have to wear a scarf or hat for the next few months till it grows out. In short I would not risk getting your hair done here. Pros: decor, friendly people Cons: worst haircut of my life more

Had my hair done here this morning for the first time and i was very nervous because nobody seems to know how to do my hair so i tried out NV and Amy did an awesome job!! The shampoo girl was great and didn't even get my face wet unlike the other salons the pretty much wash my makeup off!! I am very pleased with my hair and the my experience! Beautiful place and great deals on products too! Will be back.Thanks Pure NV more

My mother bought me a gift card at Christmas and i finally used it over the weekend! Had an awesome experience and wonderful services done, massage , and my hair done! Place is well kept and very trendy! Prices are very reasonable and they have a very personable staff!! Will be back! more

Honestly this is the best place to go downriver.!! I have been a client here at NV since they opened and NEVER had a problem with any of the services i have had done there or had a problem with the owners they are all nice and professional!!! I think some people you just can't make them happy no matter what you do!! What is up with the angel lady is she a nut job or what!! She has over 300 reviews on City search SINCE October ...Wow someone is a bit crazy! It's sad you get people like that writing reviews about this place that are not true!! I love this place and send all my friends and family there!! more

I am sorry that there was a lack of communication but after I spoke with Corrine and talked to her, about your concerns, she was very appoligetic. She stated she would be more than happy to give you another facial at no charge, since you had such a bad experience. \r \r I left you a voice mail three days after we had spoke on the phone. I even added, since you said you lived out of state, that if you had someone in the area that you would like to have get the service in your place that could be arranged. The offer is still good for the next time you are in town or if you have someone whom you would like to get the service. \r \r I am sorry for the breakdown in communication and for the poor service you recieved in the first place. I arrived for my facial appt 10 min early b/c i fugured I would have to fill out a form (which i didn't) and they told me just to have a seat b/c I was early. My appt was supposed to start at 11:30 and my esthetician did not come get me until after 12:00!! I almost walked out and nothing was said to me during my wait. So she came and got me and did not apologize or give me a reason for her being late and doesn't even introduce herself. I'm assuming that the girl's name is Corrine because she had business cards in her room but I dont know for sure. She tells me to get undressed and she'll be back once the steamer turns on (ok.....?) 15 MINS LATER she comes in and starts asking me about my Christmas asks me NOTHING about my skin/allergies/regime.... NOTHING. \r She just starts putting stuff on my face and is going at rapid speed (because she is probably running behind). She doesn't look at my skin or do any extractions and does a quick massage. Then she slaps a mask on me and puts on these eye pads with this stuff on it. Then she LEAVES ME ALONE AGAIN for about 10-15 mins meanwhile the stuff on the eye pad gets into my eye and my eye is burning and watering. On top of that I can hear every conversation going on in the break room across the hall.....so much for relaxation.\r She comes back and I tell her about my eye she says nothing. She wipes it off and says ""is that ok?"" and then takes off the mask and finishes. \r When i came out I wanted to speak to a manger or owner and of course he wasnt there so they said he would call me. I don't hear anything from him after 5 days so i call myself and I spoke to the owner. \r He basically told me that she's not normally like that and he didnt understand why she was late but didn't offer to compensate me. So I told him I deserved a refund and he said he would have to talk to the esthetician and get back to me. Its been 3 weeks and no word.\r \r This was by far the WORST spa experience I have ever had! Do not waste your time or money on this place go to a REAL spa where the service providers are actually professional. Cons: too many more

Love this place very nice and the girl that did my hair was wonderful! This is a very nice salon and when i was there it was very clean and you can tell they do not sell used products..lol...some people are soooo strange making these comments on here. Was my first visit and and had no issues but LOVE this place!! more

Best salon downriver!! Clean and friendly day spa and wonderful massage girl!! Was treated like a princess on my Bday and can't wait to go back! Place is very upscale and the girls are really nice and great!!! more
