When we spoke to you last time we had the car, 9-5 Saab 2000, in for the second time 03/09/2012, the first time was 02/16/2012. On the first go around you convinced me, Carol, Joh...

Another great experience! 3/6/2014

I just brought my 2009 VW Gti in for 60k service. All items were explained to me, and I was given a quote before any work began. Also, there was an annoying sound coming from what I thought was exhaust, and I asked them to look into it. Turns out it was the rear wheel bearing, and this was properly diagnosed, and fixed. Took a little longer than expected, but not out of the norm. The bolt was seized that held it on-how do I know all of this? Because they took the time out of their day to explain EVERYTHING to me, and also offered me the old parts so I could see in my hands what the problem was. I am impressed with their honesty, their kindness, and their professionalism. The shop may not look like much from the outside, but inside it's staffed with consummate professionals who know their stuff. So much so, that they're at ease explaining it all to a layperson like myself who is interested in this stuff. I am happy with this shop, have referred my wife there, and will refer others as well. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Thanks Chris for the great review, we try very hard to explain all that we can about repairs done on anyone that brings their car to us. Car repair is very expensive these days and people need to understand what it is that they are paying for. Thanks again for the great review! Don & Steve more

Honest Service at Honest Prices - HIGHLY Recommended 12/1/2013

I highly recommend Precision Imports for one very important reason - you can trust them - something I would not say easily about most other automotive service centers. They will give you honest service and honest advice at an honest price. The facility may look a little disheveled from the outside, but you will not get better service or prices anywhere else. My wife and I found Precision Import Services from Angie's List - an internet service used to validate good businesses. They came highly recommended as a business you can trust - a very important quality for the automotive sector. We needed a second opinion on car services for our 1998 Pontiac Grand Am. Another local dealer wanted to charge us $2200, including $1200 to replace the AC compressor assembly, replace our front rotors, replace the fuel filter, and rotate/balance tires. We wanted a second opinion both on price and the real necessity for these other services. Precision Imports looked over the car, and then gave us the straight talk on what needed to be done now for safety and what could be put off to later. We spent $400 on necessary work, and if we had wanted to do the rest, it would have cost us 20% less than previously quoted. How many auto service centers would be this honest knowing they would make less money on the deal? This is a rare business that truly understands their reputation is everything. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: We really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for trusting us with your car. more

Excellent service 11/10/2013

Honest, the actual bill was lower than the estimate by several hundred dollars. Their estimate was based on everything that could cause my car’s problem. Some of the parts did not need replacing. They were very courteous and took the time to explain all of repairs in detail. I highly recommend Precision Import Service. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Tans John for the great review more

Good but expensive 10/23/2013

I'm torn on this review. I think their work is good. They are usually timely in getting the work done and I like the guys. BUT (there had to be a but), their part prices are EXTREMELY expensive. They do use decent parts, not rebuilds like you might get at another shop, which is good. Take the most expensive part at Any auto parts store or on line then add a hundred and fifty to two hundred dollars and you will have their part prices. I called another respected Saab shop and they quoted a much lower price for an equal part. Don't know if it is their supplier or their markup, doesn't matter. I like them but at these prices I will find another shop for my two Saabs. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Thanks for bringing your car to us Dan we appreciate the opportunity that you gave us. We use "Factory" ignition parts in most cars that we service. I could have sold you any number of ignition cassettes for your car, but we have been down that road before. A Factory replacement cassette for your car runs about $650.00. We sold the cassette to you for $550.00. We could have gotten one from Beck/Arnley just like the one we took out of your car. That unit was shorted out and appeared to have been a rebuilt unit. It also caused the main fuse to blow to the ECU. We did not want to use that type of part for your repair, we want the repair to last. We could have gotten a casstte for as little as $179.00, but that is not how we do things. When it comes to ignition systems, brakes and even using the right kind of oil in a car, that is what our shop is about. Fixing it right and giving a good warranty that we stand by. I am sorry that your experience with us was not satisfactory, that is not what any of us inteneded. Just remember if you have any troubles with the ignition and it is the casstte, we warranty it for 2 years 24k and we will stand behind that warranty. Thanks again for the oppritunity to service your car, we really appreciate it. Steve Wynkoop Owner/Service advisor Precision Import Service more

Trust these guys! 9/16/2013

I am extremely happy with my experience at Precision. I found their service center by conducing a local Yelp search. Although there weren’t any reviews, I choose Precision due to their proximity to the hotel I was staying at. I was traveling through Dunn Lorring for business and needed to drive to South Georgia by the weekend. I brought my lemon of a “luxury” Audi Quattro A4 to their service center with what seemed to be a catastrophic engine issue, adding to the long list of issues I’ve had with this car in two-years. Expecting the worst- cost, time, loss of transportation- I brought the car in with much trepidation. Speaking with the owner and service manager, I left feeling a little better about the service. Based on our conversation, at least I was going to get the car back soon, regardless of what the issue was. They both speculated on what the issue was based on their experience, and promised a call within 24-48 hours with a diagnosis. True to their word, I received the call. The owner explained the issue was the better assumption of the two extremes. They kept the car for another day to conduct more tests to confirm the repair was correct. I went to pick up the vehicle, only to drop the bill at site- $0.00. That's right, they fixed the vehicle for no cost since the issue was simply a faulty engine coil. Needless to say I was shocked for many reasons. First, I assumed service centers charge customers based on our car naiveté. Second, I assumed regardless of how insignificant the issue was, the service center would find another, more expensive issue to charge me for. All of which were proven false. I could not be happier about my experience at Precision Import. I wrote this review to inform my fellow naïve customers to rest assured the staff at Precision would conduct the professional service, and charge you the right price. I encourage anyone else with similar experiences to share their story to ensure their success. more

Excellent! 8/6/2013

I had taken my car to Precision Import Service because another mechanic who doesn't work on Audis suggested I take my car there. I wanted to take it on a road trip and so I wanted to get it checked out before that. Frankly, I had taken it elsewhere before and they had told me so many things were wrong with the car that you would have thought it would fall apart before I drove it off the lot. So I wanted an honest mechanic. The guy at Precision only found one thing wrong. That was great. It was a very clean shop and the people were honest and personable. They get the job done and call you when the car's ready. more

FINALLY found our new mechanics! 6/13/2013

My family has been looking for a while for a mechanic's shop to take care of our cars. I received such excellent advice and honest assessment, I am happy to report that we will be bringing our business to PIS from now on. Thanks! more

Great Service for Many Years 5/31/2013

I have been taking my cars to Precision Import for many, many years. They are very professional and focus on solving the problem, not upselling. For example, I had a transmission that was starting to fail. They did some research and found that it was subject to a recall but the failure took place after the recall expired. They then contacted the manufacturer and provided me with enough information to force the dealer to cover most of the expense. They saved me over $2,000 on that alone. Since they have been maintaining my cars, I have never had a problem other than normal wear and tear. If you want your car professionally maintained and repaired, these are the people to do it. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Thanks Mark for the great review. more

Good, honest service. 5/28/2013

I've been taking my cars there for as long as I can remember, probably over 20 years. I've never had a problem with them. I can tell them to check something and never have to worry about them being dishonest. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Thanks Maribeth for trusting us with your car. more

An excellent place for complete care of your car. 5/2/2013

Honest and knowledgeable with Audi cars 2/13/2013

I liked that Precision Import Service was clear with what was wrong with the car. They delivered exactly what they said they would. They seem honest and straightforward. more

Satisfactory service. 12/20/2012

The people at Precision Import Service were very kind and informative. This was my first time using their service, but they ensured that I understood what fixes were needed and what they had to do in order to fix them. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Thanks Ali for good review. We really appreciate you trusting us with your car. more

I can't tell if they did a good job under the hood and I can't trust that they did. 10/2/2012

I brought the car to Precision Import Service for service after 90,000 miles and wanted to change my air filters. I cannot speak to whether they did that part of the well since I am not a mechanic and I have no way to check under the hood. But my car also had a CD stuck in the CD player and I asked them if they could check to see whether the CD could be removed and the player fixed. When I got the car back, they said they couldn't do anything and would refer me to a specialist instead. A few days later, my husband pointed out to me that the panel around the CD player was broken and that there were several screws missing. Instead of fixing it or making the effort to do things right, they just propped the panel up and let it stand loose. The problem wasn't immediately visible and I didn't think to check then that the panel was put back right. I thought about taking the car back to Precision Import Service, but decided not to. I took it to the specialist and he fixed it for me. He was also commenting about how bad the job was, in his professional opinion. Though Precision Import Service didn't charge me for trying to fix the CD player, I will never go back. My trust in them is broken and now I am also nervous about whether they did a good job on everything else. My friend had recommended them to me and takes her cars there regularly with great service, so I don't know what went wrong this time. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Olga we did not do anything to the cd player because we were not sure how to get the cd out without damaging the player. We did not take any screws out that mount the face plate into the dash. I am sorry that you feel that we did a bad job, but I promise you we did not touch any screws on the dash. This is why I recommended the specialist because they could do the job without damging anything. The only thing that the mechanic did was touch the eject button to see if the disc would come out. The mechanic that worked on your van is my business partner and half owner of Precision Import Service. He is one of the best technicians around and would never do anything to compromise any of our customers car. I am sorry that you felt we had done this to your van. We did do everything that we had talked about for the service on your van and I am sorry that you felt like you were done wrong. Olga maybe the Nissan dealer had loosened up the player. I am glad that the specailist was able to take care of the cd being stuck inside the player, I knew that they would get the job done for you. Steve Wynkoop Owner/Service advisor more

overall good service 9/16/2012

The guys were really kind and seemed honest and straightforward about the work that my car needed. It was extensive and expensive, so elected not to have the work done at this time, but they showed me all of the issues while my car was on the lift, and they didn't charge me anything to diagnose the problem. The only negative thing I can say, is that I felt like they didn't handle my car with car. There was grease on a blanket I keep in the driver's seat, and a scuff on the passenger side door handle. Overall, good service, but I felt like they didn't take care of my vehicle. more

They're phenomenal! 7/30/2012

Precision Import Service took my 2000 Volvo that had been sitting for a year and stopped running, and they made it like brand new. They did a beautiful job. I'm driving it every day now. They were very accommodating with me. I noticed that not only are they good at what they do but they are pleasant to deal with. more

They are not only expensive, but their work is also hit or miss. 7/21/2012

My car stalled on me twice one afternoon and I decided to bring it to Precision and have it checked. They were nice to accept it without prior arrangement. I got a call the next morning and was told that the check engine light came on while it was being tested. I agreed to have it diagnosed and was later told that the purge valve, which is part of the emission system... needs to be replaced. I told them to go ahead and replace it. I picked up the car when they told me it was ready and drove it home with no issues. After two days of using it, the check engine light came on again. When I reported it, I was told that the check engine light was never reset because it did not come on after the purge valve was installed and to bring it back so they can reset it. I brought the car back, but sometime during the day, I got a call from them telling me that the ignition switch does not feel right and needs to be replaced. Thinking it might have something to do with the issue, I agreed to have it replaced. Picked up the car hoping they have solved the problem, but after three days of using it, the light was back on again. After being charged almost $700, the problem was never solved. I brought the car back which sat there for a day... only to be told the next day, that they think they may have found the problem, but can't work on it until after three days.I took the car and drove it home with CEL still on. It was very disappointing. Without any assurance that they have found the real problem,I decided not to bring the car back because I began to realize that it was a hit or miss situation and the bill was running up. Lesson learned.."take it to a dealer" They are expensive, but they hit the nail on the head with real precision... no back and forth. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Percy, we are sorry that we could not find the problem sooner than we did. We did narrow down the problem to leaking fuel hoses at the top of the fuel tank and we did let you know that the fuel tank would need to come out of the car to verify which hoses were leaking. We did do diagnosis on the car 2 times at no charge after the intitail diagnosis. The ignition switches on these cars can be and have been a problem for years on this model Volvo and this is what was causing the stalling problem you were having with the car. I am sorry that you felt like you needed to take the car to a Volvo dealer to have it repaired after we had found what was wrong with the car. Sometimes diagnosing on any of todays cars can be challenging to say the least, but we felt like we teated you honestly and did provide some free diagnosing to find the problem. We also provided a 10 off senior discount to help with the price of the repairs. Sorry that you felt like we were taking advatage of you, we were trying to help you figure out what was going on with the car. I feel like we did a good job working with you. Thank you for the review, Steve & Don more

Fantastic service in a timely fashion. 7/10/2012

I called Precision Import Service on a Friday night after my car broke down. I was calling around different places, and I saw them online. Everyone was closed or booked, and Steve said they were also booked for Saturday, but that I could try to stop in early in the morning, right before they open, and they would try their best to see what they could do. I went in right at 9 AM, and they called me an hour later and said that they could find time to fix the problem as long as I could pick my car up before they close. They were slammed, too. Even at 9, the cars were rolling in. They went out of our way to help me out. They fixed my car and even test drove it to make sure it was working. They are nice folks. Very good service, and the car is running fine. more

Most expensive oil change I've ever had 6/14/2012

I decided to go to this service company based on all the amazing reviews on this site, and I guess I was a bit naive because I didn't ask specifically how much their service was when I dropped off my car for an oil change and additional service checks. I thought they'd be reasonably priced because of their location (def. no frills in the appearance either), and I've never paid more than $45 for an oil change so I thought that was pretty standard although I try to use coupons and typically get them for around $30. Well, I used the 25 off coupon on their website and got the regular oil, and the oil change ended up costing $65! They charged $30 for the oil change and about $40 for the oil. When I asked about the oil charge, they just said they can't get the oil as cheap as the large chain stores. I guess this is why you won't see any prices listed on their website. RESPONSE FROM Precision Import Service: Hello Amanda, my name is Steve and I am one of the owners at Precision Import Service and I was the service advisor that helped you with your visit. I am very sorry for not telling you the price of the oil service when you requested it. The total cost , including tax, was $62.26 for that service. I realize that alot of chain service centers and quick lubes will sell oil changes as low as $19.99. Most of the time they will have a younger tech doing oil changes all day long and pay him or her $10-12.00 hour for working. I do not have a person doing these services in my shop. The people doing the oil changes are mechanics. We feel this can be beneficial for the customer because the car gets looked over by a professional mechanic and not an oil change specialist. This is part of the reason for the price of the service. I am not making excuses, I am just trying to explain the cost involved in changing the oil on any car or truck that comes through our doors for an oil change. The price on the oil and filter is the best that we can do based on what it cost us to get the proper materials to perform an oil change. I do not use recycled oil, although I think recycling is a good idea, I just won't be putting it in anyone of my customers cars. I am not a quick lube center with 10-20 stores so it cost us a little more to get the oil change materials. We did more than just change the oil. We checked the rest of the car over, checked the battery, checked your tires and brakes. We did install new rear brake pads on the car. I hope all of these were done satisfactory. We have been in business for a while now and rarely get a complaint about our shop or any of the services we provide. I should of quoted you a price for the oil change instead of doing it without you knowing what it was going to cost and I am very sorry for doing that. If you would like I would be willing to refund that cost of the oil service back to you. Please get in touch with me and I can take care of that for you. I am sorry your trip to my shop was not a pleasent one and next time I'll try to do a better job. Thank you for taking the time to write a review for my shop.
