Precision Import SVC

When we spoke to you last time we had the car, 9-5 Saab 2000, in for the second time 03/09/2012, the first time was 02/16/2012. On the first go around you convinced me, Carol, John's wife that the car was worth fixing even though two other mechanic shops told us - do not - because John wanted to keep the car, Steve convinced both John and myself the car was worth fixing. Carol asked him outright on the phone and he reassured her it was worth fixing. Even after we had to bring the car back a second time because it was still leaking we still had faith you were telling us the truth - the car could be fixed and assured Carol - face to face - she could take the car on a long trip -no problem.. Well guys, big problems..no long trip...leaking worse that it was when we brought it in and it is now smoking on top of leaking...we are buying a new car this week - as you can surmise we are not happy - especially Carol and I am informing Dom Cedro who recommended you to us of the situation and hopefully he will think twice about bringing his Saabs back..sorry guys..you were polite enough but you cost us $1400.00 which could have gone to a down payment on a new car.... you should have been more honest and upfront about what you could really accomplish... Precision Import Service were really good. They were recommended to me by another mechanic, and I thought they did a very good job. I did some comparative shopping with the price, and it was a little high, but they did come back with a couple discounts on the table. They were flexible with me, and I don't really think a lot of other companies would do that. more

My experience with Precision Import Service was really good. The biggest thing was that I had a really major mechanical problem and I needed some guidance. They communicated with me and let me know what the costs would be. He had my car for about two weeks and kept me informed about the work being done throughout that time. The work was done in a timely manor. He called me two days after I got my car back, to make sure everything was okay. This is a business relationship that I will likely maintain. more

I've used Precision Import Service for the last several years. They don't push anything that doesn't need to be done. They watch your car for you so that they can tell you long-term when things can be done. Precision Import Service offers top-quality service and don't do things that don't need to be done. They've done everything from transmissions, brakes, and all kinds of things. I've brought different cars to them and they have redone a lot of work. I'd tell people that Precision Import Service has quality and knowledge. They take care of you long-term, so it will be cheaper for you since they keep the car in top shape. Obviously, we trust Precision implicitly. I have taken my vehicle to other places for tires and I got all kinds of recommendations and suggestions for what was wrong, but Precision will tell me right. This was the first time I had gone to Precision Import Service since the new owners took over. My car was about to go out of warranty, and I wanted them to check it for potential issues in case I needed to file a warranty claim for it. I also wanted them to do a regular service check. During their review, they determined that it needed new brakes as well so they went ahead and did that work for me. Everything turned out great. This experience met my previous experiences with them. more

I was recently vacationing in the DC area during one of the hottest weeks when our AC decided to flake out about 4 hours into the trip. I found these guys via the web and brought my car in. They fully tested the AC system and after 2 days of running the car and driving it, they couldn't replicate the problem. They thought I might have a bad AC compressor clutch but couldn't be 100 sure. They gave me the option of installing a new AC compressor but advised against it. I took their advice. At the end of this, they only charged me for the gas they had to put into my car to run it while testing. I'm sure I would not have gotten the same treatment with another mechanic or dealer. I only wish these guys were in RI. I'd become a lifelong customer. more

We'd rate Precision Import Service higher if we could! They are amazing! We've been using them for years. They're located about twenty minutes away from us, so it's not like they're conveniently located to us. But we will travel to them because we won't trust anyone else with our cars. They always find and then fix whatever problem needs fixing. They are less expensive then any other shop we've ever gone to and never overcharge. Above anything else, they have been consistently honest! They are always polite, and pleasant and they know who we are whenever we go in or call. They're unbelievable, a true treasure. They do everything there! They literally take care of your car for you because they send automatic notices of when and what's due so you really don't have to worry about anything. Plus, for their repeat customers, they offer discounts on some of the services they provide. We've recommended them to all of our family, our friends and our kids use them. I recently relocated to the area and was looking for a place to take my well loved 1998 Honda CRV. I plan on keeping this car around for a long time and was looking for a place that would take great care of it, even if it isn't the most glamorous of cars. As other reviewers have mentioned, Steve was wonderful in his customer service. I was particularly impressed with his ability to communicate clearly and in an easy to understand manner. It has been a long time since I felt so comfortable at a car repair shop. I left feeling more informed and educated about my vehicle and the repairs needed. Other pluses to the shop is that it is within walking distance to the Dunn-Loring/Merrifield metro (~0.8 miles) so it is quite easy to drop off your car and still make it to work the same day. They also have several online coupons and customer referral bonuses. As an aside, I had a friend who was inquiring about some body work on her car and Steve recommended the same body shop that one of our personal friend's recommended. This not only validated our friend's referral but also confirmed that Steve knows the area and also knows where quality services at reasonable rates can be found. I highly recommend this family and locally owned shop so go see them if your car is ever in need of a repair. more

I would recommend Precision Import Service. I've been going to them for quite awhile for a number of different cars. It started off with mostly just import cars. I had a Honda for many years, and we were in there quite a bit. I recently got a Mini Cooper, but going to the dealer was so expensive! I happened to be in at Precision for another vehicle, and they said they could service my Mini Cooper too, and they've done a really great job with it. They work with me, so I've been very pleased with them there, and I will continue to use them. more

Precision Import Service is fabulous!! Really, they are. They are honest as the day is long, and you know that's hard to find in mechanics, especially in today's world. I know the mechanics personally. I know who's working on my car and they know me. They are very knowledgeable and know the mechanics of a car inside and out. These are exactly the people you want working on your cars! Everyone they have working for them is wonderful! Carolyn, my wife, appreciates Precision, because they listen to her. As a woman, she says, that's hard to find in a car shop. She's not afraid to go there, and is never made to feel uncomfortable or uneasy. They are always polite, friendly and professional. This is a good shop, that cares about you as a person, and not just as money to be made. We can't say enough good things about them, truly! I have an older car and if I take it to the dealership they always try to sell me things I don't need. I'm too ignorant about cars to really question what the dealership tells me and end up spending a small fortune. When I took my car to Precision Import Service, I told them I had a specific problem wrong with my car. They took it in, diagnosed it correctly as the electronic fuse and fixed it. They didn't try to add on any extras, which was huge for me. Precision listened to what I needed from them, and in turn, they gave me an honest diagnosis as to what the problem was. I would say that they are very honest and won't try to sell you something you don't need. They are thorough and knowledgeable. They are capable of handling complex engine issues. We are really happy with them. more

I loved them! I loved them! I loved them! I've been very pleased with Precision Import Service. I recommend them to everybody. They don't gouge me, and they've done a great job. I think they're amazing! I trust them with my Mini Cooper, my Ford Mustang, my Jeep Wrangler, and my Chrysler Pacifica. I would recommend Precision Import Service to anyone looking for an independent dealer for repairs. They do just some amazing work, and if they can't fix something, and you need a reference for body work or whatever, I would trust their references. I love them! more

Precision Import Service & Auto Repair was great. They were very helpful. I would absolutely recommend them. I was very happy with them. They responded quickly to my initial phone call and gave me a brief estimate based on the information I provided them. It was a little vague, but the estimate was actually pretty close to what they quoted me when I actually took the car in. I like that if I drop my car off by 9:00 in the morning, Precision Import Service & Auto Repair is able to service it immediately, and have it back to me in three to four hours. They called me right away and told me what was fine, and where the vehicle needed a little more help. When I picked up my vehicle, they walked through everything that they did on the list and explained why they did it. It was very professional, and they were very thorough. Precision Import Service & Auto Repair responds quickly and responsibly. I would highly recommend them, without a doubt, especially to anybody looking to service a high maintenance car, like an Audi. more
