You are wonderful and I will recommend you to anyone looking for that perfect dress.

Worst

We went to Pearl's Place on a Saturday, so I was prepared for chaos. It's nearly impossible to find a dress in there. Luckily, I had 3 people helping me search for what I wanted. ...

Save yourself the insults 1/7/2009

I just got engaged FINALLY!! and decided to go looking for wedding gowns with my mom. We ended up at Pearl's Place. My service was awful. The expierience started off promising when I walked in and had a lady and a man greet me, but then I was walked to a tablet and told that someone would be with me shortly. No one was around ""shortly"" except an associate blowing her nose behind the desk, so my mother and I decided to start looking for her dress. She found one that she adored but a sales associate told her ""no, that's not your dress. It makes your mid section look too big."" She then told my mother she had ""child-bearing hips"" and needed to camoflauge them. Needless to say we left. I ended up at Town and Country and paid twice as much as I would've at Pearl's but it was worth it bc I never once got insulted and no associates were telling my mother she was fat. I also read up on Pearl's later that nite and as it turns out I shouldve known better. They have tons of bad reviews. If I could've given no stars or negative stars I would've. I hate Pear's Place. Pros: alot of dresses Cons: rude employees, sloppy employees, slow service more

Left in Tears over a Bridesmaid dress 1/5/2009

I called before I went to see if they had a specific bridesmaid dress (they said they did), my goal was to order the dress there for a wedding in Austin. This past Friday I went in to place the order, I finally got a girl behind the counter to help me...yeah right. She couldn't find the dress, wouldn't discuss the order with me until I paid for it, she wouldn't even measure me for the dress. I then asked about shoes to see if I could try them on and she said, ""Good luck!"" I left in tears, frustrated and went to Bustles and Bows and they were nice enough to discuss the dress sizing ( I am trying to get pregnant) and to measure me. Don't waste your time - Go to Bustles and Bows - Shelly is wonderful. Cons: Service, Staff Knowlege, they have not had manners or the idea that the Client is always right more

Rudest associates in town 12/23/2008

I went to this establishment because they had the dress I wanted. I called ahead and met at the scheduled time. The associate complained about her job and about others as she assisted me into the dress. The dress was gorgeous, but the other associates were so rude....I just could not purchase it there. I looked online and found the same dress at Yvonne LaFleur and it was $300 less with free alterations! I was treated like a princess and they even sent my mom pictures of the fitting since she could not be there. more

Great price and that's about it! 12/20/2008

Pros: price Cons: rude staff, crowded, dirty and tiny dressing rooms, chaos more

Just go there before you buy a dress 11/19/2008

I almost didn't go to Pearl's Place. One of my friends got married and absolutely hated the place. The dress that I thought I wanted was there and in Baton Rouge. So I went. I am so thankful that I did. They have every dress that you could think of. It is uncomparable to any other store. They were nice people and they spent a long time with me. I did my bridesmaids there too and the friend that hated it even said that the sales staff was much nicer than they were when she went before. I understand some of the comments that people made because there are a couple of mean old ladies there, but it did not phase me one bit. I just loved on my dresses and got help from the other people there. Supposedly they are filming a show there about Brides. I had no idea that they are one of the biggest store in the nation. I'm proud that I got my dress there and that they are from Metairie. Really, just go before you buy anywhere else. They have the prettiest wedding dresses and they are the least expensive. They have more dresses than all of the other stores put together. If you don't see it, you'll be missing out. Pros: Selection, Individual attention Cons: Crowds, waits for alterations more

Tried three times to give them a chance 11/2/2008

This was the third time I tried with a daughter to look at the dresses at Pearl's/ Yes they do have an extraordinary collection. They probably have more dresses then other stores do put together. But from the moment my daughters and I walked into the store, we were ignored. When I finally tracked down someone who was taking inventory on a very busy Saturday to ask a question, she waved me off and told me to go find a salesperson. After a very long wait where no one greeted us, told us they would be with us in a little while or even acknowledged our presence, we left. We then went to Bustles and Bowes, David;s Bridal and Southern Bridal. All three treated us in a far better manner than Pearl's did, even David's Bridal who was swamped with customers. We eventually purchased a dress form Bustles and Bows, but truly all three of the other stores had wonderful and attentive and polite staffs. It s such a wonderful day to look for your wedding dress. I am so glad we did not let those people ruin what turned out to be a lovely experience. Many thanks to Bustles and Bows for eradicating the bad taste Pearl's left in our mouth. Pros: selection Cons: attitude, service, helpfulness more

They will ruin your wedding and self esteem 10/31/2008

I had heard awful things about Pearl's Place, but like an idiot I still chose to get my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses from there. The girl that helped me with my dress was nice. Little did I know it was only to make the sale. I thought free alterations thats great. I didn't realize they expected everyone to have their dresses altered 3 months before the wedding! When I went in for my alterations they gave me the dress and ignored me after that. The seamstress was nice to me. WHen the dresses came in for my bridesmaids THEY WERE THE WRONG COLOR!!! The women there said ""sometimes the reems of fabric are off"" nothin we can do. The dresses were suppost to be navy they came in light royal blue. My bridesmaid were all treated badly! Soon enough I found out that I would also get insaulted infront of a room full of strangers as well as my family. When I went to the store after my alterations to pick my dress up they asked me to try it on before I signed it out. No Problem I thought. I felt very confident because I had lost 5 Lbs. since my alterations. The woman who strung my dress up was comparable to the devil. She was stringing my dress up and says to me,""If you gain another lb. you will not fit into this dress on your wedding day."" I took the constructive criticism and didn't think anything past I lost 5lbs. whats she talking about. Shes got my dress half way strung up when she says to me,""YOU DISCUST ME, YOU GAIN 1 MORE LB. YOU'LL EMBARASS YOURSELF ON YOUR WEDDING DAY DO YOU SEE YOUSELF"" She then refused to finish and left me half strung up in the middle of the room standing on a pedistal. Shes ruined the way I should feel in my dress. My wedding is coming up and this mean woman has made me dread getting into that dress. I am a size six and feel this way so I empathize with the brides I've read about who are plus sizes. EVERYONE DESERVES TO FEEL BEAUTIFUL!!! I will tell everyone I know to avoid that place. Pros: good selection Cons: the meanest people ever more

Love this store 10/28/2008

I love this store. I've been shopping there since prom. I have never seen more dresses. My attendants and I all looked great on my wedding day. It's crowded, but I grew up in Metairie. Everything is crowded. The people there were always very nice. I have to highly recommend Pearl's if you want to have the most options. They don't play! They also always work with you on pricing. more

Best Selection 10/26/2008

Pearl's had the best selection of gowns. I bought my dress and the bridesmaids dresses there. I shopped around. They offered the best price. They do alterations at no additional charge. I avoided Saturday's because a friend of mine had suggested that and from what I've read here that sounds like the right choice. All of the sales associates were kind. The store was crowded even during the week day. I had trouble parking as well. I had to park across the street at the mall. When I called about delivery dates I was put on hold for a while and a number of people answered the phone. I felt a bit confused. But the dresses all look great and I had little to no aggrivation. I have some friends that love it and some that don't. It's definetely not the devil. That's ridiculous. I feel bad for them. Money was my big issue and that's why I would recommend Pearl's. They have the most competive prices. Pros: Prices, Selection Cons: Parking, Crowds more

Better than expected 10/14/2008

After reading reviews about Pearls Place I was very skeptical but, I was a bride on a budget. If it had not been the first shop I was seriously looking at I wouldn't have been excited at all. When my mom and I walked in we were blown away by the selection. Gowns lined the walls from the front of the store to the back. We browsed for about 5 minutes awkwardly wondering if we should tell someone we were there. It was a weekday afternoon so it was not overly crowded. I was asked by a nice guy if we had signed in yet, he showed me to the book and left me standing there wondering what to do next. That made me uneasy but we browsed the bridesmaid dresses in that section. Within 5 minutes a nice lady (I've forgotten her name) asked if I had been helped/signed in and crossed my name off the list and began asking what I was looking for in a dress. I gave her a VERY broad idea because I was clueless and she immediately went to work. She pulled dress after dress and helped me try them on. After each dress she would ask what I did and didn't like about it and then go pull more to help me find my dream dress. The prices were great for such beautiful dresses. We must've tried on at least 10-15 dresses before we finally called it a day. I never once felt rushed by her and she even dimmed the lights (in the whole store which I'm sure was annoying for everyone else haha) to show what it'd look like in a more intimate setting (like during the ceremony..). I had full intentions on returning until I found THE dress at another shop the very next day. I am looking into returning to them for bridesmaid dresses though because their prices really are fantastic. Pros: Large selection, nice one-on-one staff Cons: Customer's left wondering what to do next more

Nice try. 9/27/2008

Way to go, Pearl's Place. Looks like you can't take the heat for being such an awful store, so you sent your minions out onto the internet on September 8th to write bogus five star reviews. They also posted glowing reviews of themselves on the Insider Pages review site, and I called them on their BS there, too.\r \r What a coincidence! So many satisfied customers, all on the same day! LOL. Nice try, but about as subtle as a sledgehammer. \r \r AVOID PEARL'S PLACE! Simply terrible, and now we know they cheat, too. more

Worst Bridal Shop Anywhere 9/15/2008

No matter how convenient or how pretty the windows are....DON'T GO HERE!!! You are just asking for heartache. The employees are trained to lie, the owners are arrongant and cocky and could care less about customer service. You would be better off buying your dress and outfiting your bridesmaids at Goodwill. Pros: Good Selection Cons: Customer Service more

Pearl's Place 9/8/2008

I recently bought all my dresses from Pearl's Place. My only complaint was that they were extremely busy but the consultants are very patient regardless, as well as knowledgeable of their selection. After dealing with them for a few weeks I understand now that the reason they are so busy is that they have tons of dresses and several customers taking advantage of the free alterations, especially on Saturdays. Now I know that you should either get there super early on Saturday to avoid the wait, but weekdays are really the best days to come. I shopped around everywhere before deciding on Pearl's Place and found that they have the largest selection and no other bridal store offers free alterations. Pearl's Place really made planning my wedding much easier. more

My Dress 9/8/2008

I'm getting married next month. I just finished my alterations at Pearl's. The wait was long on Saturday's, but the second time I came on a Wednesday the wait was not long. My dress is beautiful. I can't wait to wear it down the isle. Pearl's was very accomadating to me. I consider myself a "high maintenance" bride. They were patient and had what I wanted. more

A great experience at Pearl's Place!! 9/8/2008

I recently got married and I bought all my dresses from Pearl's Place. My only complaint at the time was that they were very busy. However, now that it is all over I understand that the reason they are so busy is that they have 100's of dresses and several customers making alteration days extremely busy. It took 1 visit on a Saturday mid-day to make me realize that a: you should get there early if Saturday is your only day off, b: weekdays are the best days to come and c: you are expected to wait a while for alterations bc they are free and everyone wants to take advantage of that! I had shopped all over before choosing to stick with Pearl's Place and found that no other bridal store offers free alterations and steaming in addition to low priced beautiful gowns. No wonder they have been there over 30 years! I highly recommend Pearl's Place. They make sure you and your girls look and feel beautiful on your special day. Pros: Large selection of beautiful gowns, free alterations and steaming Cons: Saturdays are so busy, go on a weekday! more

Had fun, good free alterations 9/8/2008

I didn't have any problems at Pearl's. They fired their old seamstress and I used the new lady,so maybe that helped. My alterations were done perfect and the lady was really, really nice. She was REALLY nice! There are way too many customers in that store, but what are you going to do. I had to wait to shop, but I got to try on like 20 dresses. No other store that I went to had nearly as many dresses as they had. I wasn't just stuck in a room by myself. A lady helped me and picked the kind of dresses I liked. It was kind of aggrivating that most of the dresses were a size 10 or 12 b/c I'm a size 14, but all of the shops are like that. I have a bm that's a size 20 and they had a dress for her to put on. Her dress looked good. No where else that I went spent as much time with me or my party or had nearly the amount of dresses. I liked the salespeople at pearl's. A couple of years ago when my sister got married, I remember thinking some of them were not personable, but all of the ladies that I saw there now were nice and were trying to help me and my party and my mom. Pros: number of dresses, helpful ladies, no charge for alterations Cons: busy more

PEARL'S PLACE HAS A BAD REP 9/8/2008

I KNOW THAT PEARL'S HAS A BAD REPUTATION BUT IN ACTUALITY 1000'S OF PEOPLE GO THERE AND THE MAJORITY HAVE GOOD EXPIERIENCES. I, FOR ONE, HAD A GREAT ONE. I GO MARRIED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. MANY OF MY FRIENDS HAD REFERRED ME TO PEARL'S AND TOLD ME TO ASK FOR JEN. SHE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS DOING AND WHICH DRESSES WOULD FIT ME THE BEST. SHE WAS WONDERFUL. LATER THAT WEEK I BROUGHT MY MOM AND MOTHER IN LAW IN TO GET THEIR DRESSES. THE FOUND BEAUTIFUL GOWNS THANKS TO MISS DONNA. MY ONLY BAD EXPIERIENCE WITH THE MOB DRESSES WAS A LOUD MOUTH CO WORKER TRYING TO SELL ME A DRESS SHE SAID SHE MODELED AND WHEN MY MOTHER POLITELY DECLINED BC SHE LIKED THE DRESS SHE HAD ON, THE LADY WALKED AWAY SAYING ""WELL, YOU LOOK LIKE A FAT A** IN THAT DRESS BUT WHAT DO I CARE"". MY MOTHER WAS MORITFIED BUT MISS DONNA APOLOGIZED ON THE STORE'S BEHALF AND GOT US BACK ON TRACK. MY MOTHER IN LAW ALSO FOUND A BEAUTIFUL DRESS THAT A YOUNG LADY THAT WORKED THERE SUGGESTED. SHE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AS WELL. OVERALL, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE LOUD RUDE REMARKS TOWARDS MY MOTHER, MY PEARL'S PLACE EXPIERIENCE WAS A LOVELY ONE. THEY JUST NEED TO REPLACE A COUPLE OF EMPLOYEES. Pros: MOST employees are great, large selection Cons: rude employee more

A living hell 8/20/2008

As God is my witness, I will never set foot in this tacky, yatty store again. I waited more than 2 hours just for the privilege of trying on a bridesmaid dress I had already bought and paid for to confirm that it fit properly. This is after they measured me OVER MY CLOTHES back in April, ordered a dress two sizes too big based on this asinine "measuring" session, then I had to come in and wait around an ungodly amount of time to get the oversized monstrosity pinned so that it could be cut down to size. Three visits, hours of my life I will never get back, just a nightmare. I didn't spend nearly as much time dealing with my own wedding dress! If I could have gotten away with just giving the bride 500 bucks to get out of having to deal with these people, I would have in a heartbeat. Do yourself an enormous favor and STAY AWAY FROM PEARL'S PLACE!~ If I could give the store zero stars, I would. Too bad I had to give it one in order to post. :P more

Unprofessional,Rude,Not Helpful, Ain't nothing pearly about this place! 8/20/2008

I highly recommend Pearl's Place closed down or get better representatives for their company. They are unprofessional giving poor service and not at all helpful. One of my dearest friends is getting married and she asked me to be her bridesmaid. I lived in Dallas, TX but jumped at the chance to share in this beautiful moment with her. She decided to purchase her wedding dress as well as her bridesmaid's dresses from the place from hell. I called in with my professional measurements as asked by the rudely assistant in April 08. The dresses arrived two weeks ago in July 08 at the Metairie location. I asked a friend to pick up the dress on his way back to Dallas, TX. The dress is 6 sizes bigger than what I normally wear. I called to speak to a representative and he informed me that the measurements I called in with according to their charts I needed a size 16. I informed him no way in hell I wear a size 16 when I am only 160lbs wearing a size 10. Pros: none! Cons: unprofessional, rude, not helpful more

rudness to bridesmaids 8/5/2008

I selected Pearl's Place because they had the same dress for the same price as another store, but included alterations. When I was fitted for my bridal gown, the associate measured over my loose fitting jeans, with no question. (I figured she knew what she was doing.) Well, my dress came in at least 2 sizes too big. Pros: nice to brides, but only to get your business Cons: order smaller than what the tell you... rude to all bridesmaids more
