Picture it, Jan. 2, 2014....Ohio....cold....cold....cold. My crew showed up at 8:30am, as promised and hit the floor running. From the moment Larry, the foreman, entered my home until he left for the day, he and his crew were working non-stop. Not only did they work in the basement, but they were also outside digging in all that snow. I felt so sorry for the guys. You'd look out and they had snow all over them and yet, they just kept doing their job. It took the crew only 3 days of hard, continuous work, but they finished the job and I was totally amazed. They treated my home as if it were their own. They took precautions to cover the floors with plastic and everything I had in the basement was also covered with plastic. They had to use a jackhammer to get through my 4 inch concrete on all my outside walls. When I saw the new trenches they put in, I must say, I was truly impressed. Then, after they installed the new pipes and gravel and resealed the trenches with new concrete, it was like a new floor. They cleaned up after themselves and they had to haul all the debris upstairs just using buckets. I thought they did a magnificent job and am very, very pleased with the outcome. I would definitely recommend Ohio State Waterproofing to anyone who needs their basement water woes eliminated. I was first impressed with Mr. Furbee, their representative that inspected my home first. He was very detailed, knowledgeable, patient and answered any and all of my questions. I was very apprehensive at first when consulting companies to waterproof my basement, I was afraid of being taken advantage of and overpaying. However, Ohio State Waterproofing put me at ease right away. The rep was very knowledgeable, honest, and clear when discussing my problems and the possible solutions. The crew was very prompt, polite and hard working. They had to be reminded of certain parts of the contract. So, when they did it right, it was good. But, a bit more monitoring on our part than I would have preferred. more

Overall good service so far. Finishing could use improvement. Not sloppy but not 100% either. Hoping a visit back will tighten up some of the things that can be improved. Would recommend. more

We have been customers with Ohio State Waterproofing for over 20 years and with more than one home. We have enjoyed great customer service and often have been able to have someone out to service our house right away. I don't have to tell you how great that is when you're getting water in your basement! To our family, customer service is so important that it will either allow a company to continue to get our business or cause us not to return again. As small business owners ourselves, we see and speak to quite a few people. Often times, the conversations will come up as to companies we have come into contact with. Word of mouth travels fast and believe me, you don't want people saying adverse things about your company. That being said, Ohio State Waterproofing gets only good remarks for me and from my family. Ohio State Waterproofing did a fantastic job! The people that came out to the house to inspect the basement were very friendly and explained everything that was wrong with the basement and how they planned on fixing it. They gave me a free EZ breathe system and then planned on waterproofing the basement in early January but ended up being done Nov. 8 which was great because my basement pretty much flooded every time it rained. My best advice to anyone with a wet basement and considering using them... RECONSIDER!! We HAD, yes HAD, a home that was waterproofed, and it failed. Ohio State offered to do the job - again at a price - close to $34,000. Needless to say, 3 attempts and 8 flooded basements later, my entire family had to vacate our only home we ever knew. Lived there for 20 years and had to walk away. The water was horrible... never stopped. We are fighting a huge battle and living in an apartment. There are so many loopholes in their warranty! We lost everything. Please do not let this happen to you. Our only silver lining is... now when it rains, we don't run down to our basement. Our apartment is safe, secure and dry. We are now trying to pay an attorney so we can fight them in court. If not, we have been told our only choice is bankruptcy. I never in my life thought I would be in this situation. Please, find another company and research, research, research... more

My husband and I were very pleased with the work that was done in our basement. We were told each day what was going to be done and fully explained what was involved. The crew that did the work were great. They were very friendly, courteous and hard working. The crew worked non-stop and were a great group of guys who deserve a lot of credit for the work they do. My husband and I are new homeowners and knew when we were buying our house that there was a small water problem in the basement. We had a different company come out during the inspection process to give us a quote for an interior waterproofing system. After hearing what this company had to say, we went ahead with the purchase of our new home. After being in our home for a few months and many hard rains, we noticed the problem in our basement was worse than we had originally thought. We decided to call around for a few other quotes before getting started. The previous quote we got on the interior system would not have solved our problems, but would have only hid our problem. We were very skeptical when the first salesman came to our house from Ohio State Waterproofing. We felt he was just throwing us a sales pitch and did not care at all about our concerns for the high price and our situation. He gave us an extremely high quote without even measuring our basement. We asked him to leave and did not agree to any services after his visit, we actually continued to get other quotes. After a few days we get a call from Ohio State asking why we did not agree. My husband was honest with them about our first visit, so they sent a manager out to answer and re-answer most of our questions and concerns. During this visit we felt as if he was actually listening to our concerns and gave us an affordable solution. We agreed. We were told our job would be "on call" and given "a no later than" date to have our work done, which was as far out as 4 months. As more and more water kept coming in, we were very happy they completed our job within 5 weeks. Adonis and his crew were extremely professional and explained what they were doing throughout the entire process. They were respectful of our home and our schedules and we would recommend him and his crew to anyone. We hired Ohio State Waterproofing because of cracks and water and the salesman went through the same spiel as all of you got...to top it off we just bought the house and had been dupped by the sellers telling us that the basement only got damp!! So they said Oh we will go to court for you and supply you with any statements that you need to win your case. A HUGE $15, 000 mistake!!! We got the run around, our lawyer got the run around..finally talked to the foreman and he said Oh I don't even remember if your basement was bad or not, didn't we give you the pictures, finally sent me a statement that they send to everyone with no description. So statue of limitations ran out on the lawsuit and we are stuck with the bill. NEVER hire them, they are scam artists and will do or say anything to get your business. OH and the guys kept dumping the muddy water down our wash basin in the basement and we had to pay a plumber to snake the drains to finally unclog them!!! We had a basement in need of repair & we felt confident with our salesperson & the info he explained to us. As our journey began we were given more info & each day something new was added. After watching the process begin & end all we were told happened. BUT it was a little overwhelming digesting all that at once. Our crew leader, Larry, & his men couldn't have more professional or courteous. Larry was a true leader working right next to the guys. They got along well & almost seemed to be enjoying the work. I would recommend Ohio State to others. Though it was costly, I had a very good experience with Ohio State Waterproofing. I was put on a wait list; however, I was elated when they called to schedule the job quicker than I expected. The foreman, Larry, was very informative and professional and he gave me details each step of the way. Since my basement was already finished, I was told in advance that I would be responsible for putting things back like they were. The work was just performed last week, so I cannot truthfully say if my problem has been rectified. I am hopeful that with my warranty, should I have any problems in the future, Ohio State Waterproofing will remedy the situation. more
