I heard that Mastros has great steaks and that was an understatement! The food literally melted in my mouth! Our server was named Jimmy and he was very friendly. He explained that you order a main meal and then they serve side dishes "family style" which was fun because my boyfriend and I ordered a few things to share. I ate a filet, and we shared asparagus, corn and spinach. Even the bread plate was amazing!!! It is kinda expensive, and I cant afford to go there a lot, but we will definitely make it our "special night out" spot! Pros: delicous food, romantic ambiance, great service more

Wow, not that's a nice Steak Restaurant. It was romantic, classy and impressive. One thing they need to fix to make it perfect. The lighting is a tad too low. You need a flash light to read the menu...... Suggestion, add just a little more lighting at each table. Overall, on a scale 1-100 it's a 99.5. Great! No attitude on the phone when I made the reservation! What a nice change of pace! If you want a more quiet evening, I suggest sitting downstairs. The difference between the two is amazing! Loud and vibrant upstairs, and cool and much quieter downstairs. I loved the Frank Sinatra music playing in the background downstairs. The martini's are big doubles and are great! The Filet is perfect! Service is very attentive. Very expensive, but worth it for a special night out. more

This might very well be the best place for a steak. At least in LA. They have marked up the prices overall and it's a killer but yeah, it's worth it. Cool retro place with "wannabe actors" as waiters. Surprisingly friendly atmosphere and not so stuffy one might expect. I had the double-cut porterhouse (Pittsburg style) and it was just out of this world. They hang it for 23 days and have their own special rub. Then they caramilize it before they cook it. The result was fantatstic. This is all in all as close to a perfect place. AND they haver a really cool special room if you are around 6-10, necxt to the kitchen and off from the others (in the event your party want to be a little alone). You'll find me here! I went the Saturday before Valentines day with no reservations so I had to grease and we got a decent table. No one talks about the pretzel bread loafs but these things are just delicious hot out of the oven. My girfriend and I split there largest steak which I think was the bone in Ribye and it was two huge pieces of perfectly cooked meat. The steaks come out just sizzling on the hottest plate I have ever felt. The steak was $46.00 and the sides are expensive but it was worth it for the meat. Upstairs bar scene was pretty cool with great martinis. Valet parking was $7.00 which was kind of expensive. Pros: Steaks Cons: Expensive, Very busy more
