My wedding is on 8- 8-2010 I visit a lat of stores but my best experience was at Lestan They had a large selection of dresses for the bride as well as the bridemaids I had a most wonderful sales person her name was Eva she helped me chose my bridemaids dress ,and my sales person from bridal her name was Colette picked the most perfect dress for me. After spending the most wonderful day at Lestan I went home and decide to write a review. I red all the reviews abaut the store that I'm abaut to buy my wedding gawn and my bridemaids. I was suprice, becouse my experice was so wonderful I have nothing negative to say abaut the store or the saleshelp. I really hope any furture Brides would go to Lestan and let EVA or COLETTE help you they were just FANTASTIC I could not understend that same people wrote bad reviews about it I was so happy i did not listen to tham. I gat my perfect wedding dress and all my 10 bridemaids. My experience was so good, there is alweys to be a few people that just like to complain... I was very surprised by all of the negative, unkind reviews that I read here. I have been very pleased with my experience so far at Lestan's.\r \r I have an important affair scheduled for April 2010. Due to my busy schedule, I did not start looking for a gown until January or so. I realize now I should have started looking last year.\r \r I should mention this is not a wedding gown. This is an evening gown.\r \r I visited just a couple of stores in Brooklyn, and was not happy with the selection in those other stores. Many of the dresses were cut for thin, young women with near perfect figures. (not me!!) Some of the dresses were too revealing for me. I was starting to feel depressed. I thought to myself: What's wrong with me? Why does nothing fit me? Is my figure that weird? Is it possible to find a gown which does not highlight every bulge or show tremendous cleavage? I was beginning to feel frumpy and old because I was having trouble finding a flattering gown.\r \r Then I went to Lestan's in January.\r \r Big selection in the store. Their website suggests an even larger selection online. I browsed around. A salesgirl came over to help. I believe her name was Shanna. I wasn't sure what I wanted but gave her a general idea . . . . a certain color, the date of the party, I wanted something modest, my price range, etc. She could see my figure. I'm not a model.\r \r Shanna showed me several things. I tried them on. She helped me get into them. Some were not flattering, some were pretty. I like the fact she did not push. If the gown was not my taste or was not flattering, she was honest and helpful. She returned with a few more to choose from, once she had a better idea of my taste of what might look attractive. She gave me her honest opinion, and was very patient, I must say. After that first visit, I had not made up my mind to buy anything, but decided to return later that day.\r \r I came back with family for their opinion, and Shanna was patient once again, showing me several gowns, making suggestions, etc. Finally, she showed me a silk organza gown I had not noticed before, and I put it on and VOILA! A perfect choice.\r \r To make a long story short, the dress was ready for my first fitting in about 6 weeks. I went to the store and the seamstress (Eva???) assisted me. The dress fit almost perfectly and needed a few little alternations in the upper area. I was impressed by Eva's patience with me and suggestions. She made me feel as if I were her only customer. For the few minutes I was trying on my new gown and Eva was helping me, I must say I looked and felt like a princess.\r \r Two other customers saw me trying on my new gown and stopped to compliment me. One asked her salesgirl if she could try on the same thing.\r \r I will be going to my second fitting soon (bringing along my shoes) and my dress should be ready in about two weeks.\r \r In sum, I am very, very pleased with Lestan's. The gown they made for me is beautiful, and their service so far has been professional, caring and attentive. I gave them 4 stars (not 5) because they are EXPENSIVE and their store is a physically run down. However, if you can afford it and are willing to spend the money and don't care much about a fancy atmosphere, I recommend Lestan's. Liars with a terrible work and business ethic 3/10/2010

My wedding is in April 2010. I ordered my bridesmaid dresses well in advance (in October) to avoid any unforseen problems. I was told that the dresses would arrive February 20. It is now March 11th and I still have no dresses. Everytime I call and try to speak to Eva I am given some excuse and told she will call me back which she usually never does. When I do finally speak to her I am told that the dresses are on the truck and they will be in the store that day. I am promised a phone call from her no matter what and that phone call never comes. Eva is a liar and the truth is not in her. I will never ever refer anyone to Lestans. They should no longer be in business. My girls have already put money down on these dresses. I don't know what I'm going to do if these dresses never come in. This is supposed to be the happiest time in my life but Lestans & Eva have made it so stressful. Terrible communication, international purchase bad idea! 3/4/2010

I do not live in the US and purchased my dresses online through Lestan - I really wish I had read the reviews before I did. After Lestan received payment I had no communication from them, sent a multitude of unanswered emails, could never speak with my sales girl - apparently she's ""very busy"" and it's appropriate to tell me what she's up to outside of work. They addressed my dresses to the wrong name and address, thankfully Fedex worked it out and seemed to find a simple task just that. After expressing my disappointment that my dresses were not sent until 3 weeks after they charged my credit card for the shipping, I was told not to worry, three weeks before the wedding is plenty of time to arrange fittings and alterations for five girls. According to my saleswoman 'every think will be fine' - this has really impacted on my wedding plans and ruined the whole experience for me I'm afraid to say. Great Place for Service and Value 2/13/2010

Lestan is as good as I remember it. I just bought my bridal gown from Lestan and was thrilled with the service that I got throughout the process. The sales help was great, as were the fitters, seamstresses and managers. My dress fit like a glove and was customized to my tastes. I was so happy that we decided to buy the mothers, brides maids, flower girls and grandmothers there also. The treatment we got was great. I remembered the store from when I was a kid and I could not understand that some people wrote bad reviews about it. I was so happy that I did not listen to them because my experience was as good as ever. I guess with the amount of dresses that they sell, theres bound to be a few people that just like to complain. \r \r The staff went out of their way to make everything perfect and they deserve credit. THE WORSE! THE WORSE 10/30/2009

My wedding was august 14, 2009 back in may I went to Lestan's to purchased my dress they were really nice when they were taking my money. But when it was time to try on my dress they told me to come the day before my wedding because the dress wasn't in yet. I was in rage because I kept calling june and july they kept telling me not to worry and my dress would be in shortly. So i went to the store and went crazy i was not the only bridezilla there. they were at leat 8 other brides and 10 bridesmaid screaming at them because no one had their dresses. They weren't even nice about the whole inconvinient they charge me $250 for alteration. I had no choice but to get it altered there because i finally got my dress two days before my wedding. I was in tears because i didn't have that kind of money to pay they didn't care they told me if I didn't pay i wouldn't get my dress. CAN YOU BELEIVE IT TWO DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING. I don't want any bride to go thru that horrible moment ,go to David's bridal they may not have much selection for wedding dresses but they are so much more proffesional and way nicer thank God my bride's maid got their dresses at David's.ONE MORE THING :THEY DON'T RFUND ANYTHING BACK. do not purchase anything 9/16/2009

On May 1, 2009 I purchased a bridesmaid dress from Lestan, at that time I was informed by your staff that the dress will be available to me in August. The date of the wedding is October 1st, thus leaving time for alterations, I was told I could call or your store would contact me once it arrived. At the end of July I called to find out the status and was told not to worry it would definitely be here by mid August. Believing your store was reputable I was not concerned. On August 27th my mother went to the store to pick up the dress, at that time she was told next week, on September 3rd she again attempted to get the dress and was told it had just came it and was in a box could she please come back in a few days as the dress had to be inventoried. On September 15th I decided as it was getting close to the date: to travel to Brooklyn try on the dress and have Lestan do the alterations if needed. Upon arrival no one knew where the dress was where the store copy receipt was and asked me to come back the next day, I was anxious and asked why and they said they couldn’t find it and that Eva, knew where it was and she was off. Now I am panicked as I am realizing that the dress is not there and it is 2 weeks before the affair, and I am getting nothing but excuses from your staff.\r \r My mother telephoned the manufacturer to inquire about the dress and she was informed that if the order was placed in May the dress would have been available at the store by now and that I should contact Lestan’s. This dress was ordered by several bridesmaids through stores located Brooklyn, Boston, and Rhode Island everyone received their dresses no one had a delivery issue: in addition 1 dress was ordered in July and she has the dress already. \r \r I can only conclude that someone dropped the ball: the order was never placed, had you been forthcoming regarding not receiving the dress, you would have allowed me time to find another dress however: you chose to be deceptive and misleading giving me no other recourse than to purchase a gown in that specific color and have it altered to a dress to match the bridal party. The store where I purchased the gown: carries Enzoani and has never experienced a delivery issue Your store’s solution to the dilemma they placed me in: was to issue a refund of my deposit which is little constellation considering the additional expense and aggravation I have experienced because of your fraudulent business practices. \r \r What you did was despicable; the fact that to date you continue to blame the manufacturer is deplorable.\r \r The wedding will be marvelous we will all look wonderful and I will certainly share with all my friends, families and relatives the unscrupulous manner in which your store conducts business. \r \r In closing I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Affairs and have forwarded a copy of this letter to the manufacturer all need to be aware of how Lestan has no regard for the consumer.\r \r I hope my actions will serve to protect any potential clients from your deceptive business practices.\r \r Cons: rude deceptive and misleading more

HORRIBLE! 7/10/2009

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses in Jan. They promissed me it would be in by may because I had a bridesmaid leaving the country and would be back 2 days before my wedding. Its July and still NO dresses! That's not the worse part. I'm not getting any answers as of when they are going to arrives. They keep saying some one will call me back and of course no one does! I am SO thankful I did not order my wedding dress from this place. Please do yourself a favor, save yourself the headache and agrevation. Do not go to this store! Worse servie..they dftnly do not know how to run a business. With all this bad reviews I'm suprised they are still opened! more

HORRIBLE ! zero rating ! 6/18/2009

i went for my sweet 16 dress on jan. 31st . i knew the dress i was looking for so it was pretty quick, i tried it on and everything. The place was filthy. there's closepins all over the worn out carpet and there was hundreds of dresses all unorganized. so they ordered the dress and told us that it would be in by April. They told us that they would put the date of my party as June 20th so that we can get the dress quicker. They also told us that they would keep us updated. they never called or anything. we had to track them down. And the people on the phone were rude and so unprofessional. 4 months after they say they have the dress in so we made an appointment for the fitting. they call me 2 hours before i am supposed to be in for the fitting and tell me that the dress should be in on Tuesday. Why would they make an appointment for a fitting for a dress that hasn't even arrived yet? so i finally got my dress today June 18th (mind you that they put the date for June 20th) and when the lady who was doing my fitting asked me when my party was i said on Saturday she was like oh that's nice . Wonderful Experience 6/6/2009

I travelled from Rockland County to Brooklyn for my dress for my niece's wedding. I can't say enough how happy and pleased I am with the store and the help I received. Fay, the saleswoman, was very knowledgable with the stock and found the perfect dress for my mpther and myself. The seamstress was able to do the alterations while we waited so I wouldn't have to make another trip to Brooklyn. Thanks Fay and Tammy for helping us look great for the upcoming event! BEAUTIFUL GOWNS AND WONDERFUL STAFF 5/14/2009

I just picked up my gown today from Lestans, needless to stay, I am thrilled with the way it looks! I had a wonderful experience at this store. The staff were friendly and helpful and the store carries a large selection of unique quality dresses. The seamstress did a spectacular job on my dress and the staff assisted me with picking the perfect veil. I am a very satisfied customer, I can't wait to wear my dress for our wedding on the beach in Aruba!!!!! Pros: LARGE SELECTION OF QUALITY DRESSES more

EPITOMY OF NO PROFESSIONALISM 5/14/2009

I am at my witts end in working with this vendor. My wedding is in June and it is basically the end of May and I don't have my wedding dress yet. I ordered it since sept and EDT was february. Since february I have called religiously to find out when my dress would be coming in. Good thing I only ordered my junior bridesmaid dress from them and of course they blame both designers for the late delivery. I hate the fact that no one likes to take responsibility for not doing what they need to do to have things on time. They have a ton of workers and no one doing anything with sense. All they do is tell you poppycock and hope you swallow it with a smile. Rudeness is an understatement!!!! I can only hope I get my dress in time. Save yourself the headache and check the cancellation policy on any store you do business with!!! Cons: I couldn't get my money back!!! more

Worse bridal boutique in the country 4/2/2009

This bridal shop is the worst cancer of all bridal shops. First off, they have NO cancellation policy whatsoever. This is unheard of and is basically a way to scam people out of money. For instance, every major bridal/bridesmaid manufacturer has a cancellation policy (except in instances of rush orders...and even then it's usually allowed but just with a fee) so why would the distributor of those gowns/dresses not also have a cancellation policy? Why? I'll tell you why....so that Lestan Bridal can keep your money for doing nothing than more than faxing a piece of paper. They are a SKETCHY bridal salon. One girl wouldn't even reveal her name when I and one of my bridesmaids was trying to get her deposit back. We did get our money back through massive pestering. So if you are persistent you can get your money back! No one should do business with this salon and everyone should stay the hell away.\r \r That's all folks! Worst place! STAY AWAY! 2/28/2009

Do yourself a favor and don't go to this place. This is the most unprofessional place i have ever seen. You don?t want to ruin your special day by trusting these people. When selling you the dress, they are super nice. They tell you, you look gorgeous (no matter what you put on...even if you know you look terrible). Then they tell you the alterations will make the dress perfect on you (even if nothing fits right). Once you pay the deposit, it all goes downhill. The next time you come in, they won't even look your way. The sales people promise you alternations that the seamstress cannot deliver. They lie just to make the sale. Even if they give you a good price, it's not worth going with this place. They will end up making empty promises. There is nothing worse than that! Once you realize that the alterations you were expecting, are not possible, they refuse to refund you your deposit. On top of everything, the people in the store are all fake, untrustworthy, unprofessional, rude and unpleasant. The store itself is filthy. You definitely don't feel like you are going to a place that will give you something of good quality at the end. I lost my deposit feeling that it's better to lose money than having them ruin my special day. Although there prices are decent and the selection is ok, STAY AWAY. The experience is not worth it. There are plenty of places where you can go, where you will not get screwed at the end. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR WEDDING, PROM or PARTY. The sales people are just plain terrible! Part 2: No One Should Ever Have to Experience This!!! 2/4/2009

I just got off of the phone with Eva who told me she didn't give a s**t after getting caught in another one of her lies. The dresses were supposed to be delivered today, and they actually were! However, when the shipment arrived, Lestan's didn't have the money to pay for them and the delivery service left. I know this because they gave me a tracking number and it said this on the delivery services' website. Eva told me she didn't have to explain anything to me as far as why they didn't have the money when she knew the dresses would be in today. She hung up on me and when I called back she uttered the magical words I typed above. more

The ladies that work there are horrible. Especially their managers Tammy and Louisa. They do not care about customer service and are very rude. I ordered the dresses for my bridesmaids on July 5, 2008. We were told the dresses would arrive my mid November. Today is February 4, 2009 and the dresses are not here!!! They have given me six different delivery dates, none of which have resulted in the dresses. Every time that I or my bridesmaids call them about the missing dresses they give us attitude and act as if something is wrong with us for being concerned. No One Should Ever Have To Experience This!!!! STAY AWAY FROM EVA AND LUCILLE!!! 2/3/2009

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding on Feb 28. The bride took me and other bridesmaids to Lestans in July to order our dresses. We were told that they would be here in Nov, it seemed like a long time but we didn't think anything of it since the wedding is in Feb. Nov came and passed and the dresses hadn't come. So the bride and I started calling. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE!! Most businesses try to appease thier customer, but Lestan's was extremely rude and unprofessional. They felt that they could tell me whatever they wanted to; and when I questioned them they got even nastier. They told me my dress would be in on Jan 15. and that they did me a favor by having it shipped early (remember we ordered in July). I went to the store to pick up my dress on the 15 and the 16. I don't know why I was suprised that they didn't have it. I ended up speaking with Eva, who supposedly handles the orders, and Lucille, the manager. Eva preceded to lie about the dresses. I know she was lying b/c I had just gotten off of the phone with the bride who told me what Eva had told her. But this wasn't anything new, it had already been going on for about 6 weeks. They tried to blame the delay on the designer, but I knew it was Lestan's fault because the 6 other bridesmaids who live out of state received their dresses months ago. I have been told the dresses would be here in Nov, Dec 6, Jan 15, & Feb 6. I got the story about the dresses being in customs also, and was told the dresses weren't expensive enough to be discounted. I asked for a traking # for the shipment on Jan 15, which I didn't reieceve until the 30. I even reported them to Eye Witness News to try to expose them. The bride went for her fitting a few days ago and was so disgusted she doesn't even want to go back again. Supposedly the dresses will be in today. The wedding is 3 weeks from saturday. I pray that they are the right dress, color, and size.\r \r I wish I would have read this first!! WORST customer service EVER! 1/5/2009

OMG...I wish I would have read these reviews before I went to Lestan's! The customer service was absolutely horrible!!!!!!!\r I was with my mom looking at MOB dresses and the there was one dress that we liked but we needed to think about it because it was very pricey. The sales lady was telling us we needed to make a decision NOW...do we like the dress or not? I told her off and told her that I've never seen sales people force customers to buy things....and asked her if she would like to pay for the dress herself. That shut her up, but she still had the nerve to give us her business card and told us to call her if we wanted the dress. I would NEVER buy anything from that store!\r We went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place that same day and bought the very dress we saw in Lestan's. The customer service there was great! more

Horrible! STAY AWAY! 12/9/2008

This place is terrible. People are rude - they yell at you. They lied about when they ordered my bridesmaids dresses and I had to call them daily to find out when they were expected to arrive AND I had to pay extra to have it overnighted to my bridesmaids to ensure it arrived before my wedding. They even ordered the WRONG size for one of my bridesmaids and we had to ship it back. We didn't get that dress until the Tuesday BEFORE my wedding and, even then, my mom had to adjust it because there was no time to have it altered by a tailor. This place is an absolute nightmare - Thank God I didn't order my bridal gown from this place! more

Huge selection ... not so great service 9/17/2008

I'm a bride and bought my dress from Lestan's. Last night was my first fitting. What a nightmare. I went with my mom, maid of honor and bridesmaid. They actually booked all three of them for the same time ... along with maybe 20 other people too. I felt so bad for them having to wait for so long and then be kinda bullied around by the staff. \r \r I went downstairs for my fitting and wasn't comforted by the fact that there was a bride there freaking out because nobody could figure out what happened to her tiara and veil. The staff didn't even seem to be too put out by it either. They just kept shuffling around and telling her it was no big deal. Here's the kicker. They ended up giving her someone else's veil and tiara!!!!! They never did find this poor bride's original purchase. I feel bad for whoever's veil and tiara they took. Needless to say when I found out my veil and tiara were there, I asked if I could take them home with me.\r \r The fitting itself wasn't bad at all. The seamstress is a really nice lady. You can tell she knows her stuff. \r \r Then it's time to pay the balance of my dress and here's where I finally got mad. The balance MUST be paid in cash ... cash only. I offered a debit card and was VERY rudely told it was cash only. When I stated that that was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard, she responded ""I just work here"". It's a tax scam I'm sure. Wonder how much of the cash they get they actually report to Uncle Sam. I'm going to guess maybe half since that's what they make you leave as a deposit and they don't care how you pay that. Oh, and they subtly threaten that they won't start alterations unless you leave them something in cash of course. \r \r I will give them that they have an ENORMOUS selection of dresses. It's downright scary. Some of the sales staff is really nice but most of the 'upstairs' crew .RUDE!. ""All sales are final"" ... yep because if anyone ahd the chance to give them their stuff back, they would! Pros: Huge selection Cons: Customer Service is not their priority. more
