I'm a bride and bought my dress from Lestan's. Last night was my first fitting. What a nightmare. I went with my mom, maid of honor and bridesmaid. They actually booked all th...

HOW COULD ANYONE SAY ANYTHING NICE ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE FOR A STORE 6/7/2007

I WISH I COULD HAVE RATED THEM ZERO OR NEGATIVE STARS! i am in a bridal party this year and we got our bridesmaid dresses from this craphole and it was a NIGHTMARE! this place has ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO MANAGEMENT, AND NO ORGANIZATION! We ordered our dresses in DECEMBER! and the wedding is this saturday, June 9th. and guess what, I STILL HAVE NO DRESS! to all the brides out there, SPARE YOURSELF THE STRESS! They ordered our dresses 2 sizes bigger because they said we might gain weight. I've been in other bridal parties...NO ONE DOES THIS! so of course the dresses were tremendous. we went back for a 2nd fitting, and after waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF, they told us that the alterations hadn't even been made yet!!!! they said they were ""backed up"". it does NOT take 2 weeks to take in a dress! and there were about 20 other people there that were complaining about the same problem! we sat there for another hour while they altered the dress and when i tried it on IT DIDNT FIT! they had made it too small! so they had to let it out. they told me ""just come back"". that was on Tuesday. i said ""THE WEDDING IS THIS SATURDAY!"" i am going to pick up the dress today for a FOURTH fitting...if it doesnt fit i am completely screwed. and dont even think about complaining to them, because they will just get really nasty and walk away from you. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY ARE EVEN STILL IN BUSINESS! Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Cons: EVERYTHING! more

Zero 3/18/2007

The basic problem of this place is that people who work there are very unprofessional. The service is inconsistent, as you saw from other reviews. In our case it was bad, and over the phone it was horrible. Most of the emplyees there are plain rude and should be kept away from customers. Elementary alterations may take them weeks to do. They will make you travel there a zillion of times to try your dress on after every second pin is put in it....I don't know why this happens- one would think a visit or two should be enough to just make a dress shorter - but not there. They are very unwilling to work on week-ends, as well as after 6 pm daily (and this is the only time I was there), so if you live some distance away and work- you may want to think twice before going there.\r The girls at the reception are just dumb. When I came there for the first time with my fiance to have a look at the dresses together, they (the girls at the reception) would not allow him to accompany me down to the fitting room on the grounds that men are not allowed there. However, two men were already sitting there! The same story repeated on our second visit. We ended up by simply ignoring them- which they did not mind, however.\r OK, I guess you got an idea of what it is like there.\r \r Good luck,\r \r Cons: bad service more

BEWARE OF LESTANS 12/12/2006

I got my dress from Lestans in Brooklyn and I DO NOT recommend them. First, their service is extremely poor and their facility is dirty. The sales staff extremely rude. When I came in for my first fitting, it took them an hour to find my dress. The woman in charge of the store did not even offer to remove a black dirt mark that was on the dress when I pointed it out -- she just told me not to touch it or it will get worse-- I actually had to ask her have it removed. They did a horrible job altering my dress and, after three tries couldn't fix the bead work that they messed up. To top it all off, after I paid for my dress in full, they made me sign a release saying their alterations were to my liking and refused to give me my dress (after I paid for it) until I signed the release. Please save your self all of the aggravation and find a better place to buy your dress. Cons: I HATE LESTANS more

Great selection of dresses at good prices! 12/6/2006

I went to Lestan (and ended up ordering my dress) before reading all of these negative reviews and felt compelled to write. When we pulled up and walked in, I was pretty dissapointed since the place is not all that great looking from the outside. However, there is parking right out front which is nice. While the interior leaves much to be desired in terms of decor, I thought the selection of dresses was great and the prices excellent. I ended up getting a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown for a great price. The woman helping me was really nice (so maybe ask for Pat) -- she brought me dresses herself, helped with putting everything on and game me accessories to try on with the dresses so that I could get an idea of the complete look. Sure, the place is a little old fashioned in terms of decor but the prices are good and the service is honest (she was really honest in telling me what I looked best in without regard for the price) - -no they dont run around you in circles but I thought the service was great and loved the dress I picked out. No one asked me about my budget, I just explained what kind of dress I liked and then asked the prices when trying on. I also ordered a veil there. I think it's a worthwhile place to go for beautiful dresses at good prices. Pros: good prices, honest service, parking out front Cons: decor and atmosphere of the place more

Poor customer service 9/24/2006

Some employees rude, some bordering on hostile. No service. When arrived for first fitting, five employees having breakfast, no one acknowledged us. We were the only customers in the store. We were handed our gowns, and had to carry them to the dressing room, where we did everything ourselves, from tearing the plastic to zipping our backs. After the pinning, we were left alone. We went back to the dressing room, undressed, hung up our dresses, and carried them to the front of the store. Same five employees talking and ignoring us. Booked next fitting date with woman who made no eye contact and dismissed us twice, as if to shoo us out. I suggest buying a dress and taking it to your own tailor for alterations. Save the alteration fee and the aggravation. We ran into one other customer that day, and they were also displeased. Pros: None. Cons: Poor service. more

Customer Service 6/26/2006

I recieved ATROCIOUS phone service when I dealt with them. This may not be the first thing you're going to think about when you go looking for wedding stuff, but consider it indicative of the overall quality of the establishment. If you want to deal with sales reps who don't have time to answer your question over the phone and will resort to leaving you on hold permanently when they don't want to deal with you, use Lestan. more

Lestan Fashion 5/5/2006

My salesperson was great and although I came in telling her that I wanted an Eve of Milady or Amalia Carrera, she took the time out to suggest similar dresses without the super prices. She spent over an hour helping me and granted there were a few other testy saleswomen, she was not one of them. The neighborhood is actually great. I have no idea what jimmychoos was referring to when she mentioned being scared to get out of her car. That is completely ridiculous. It's a middle working class neighborhood. The drive was about 50 minutes to an hour and well worth it. While I didn't get the boutique feeling I felt at Kleinfeld's I was happy with the service and got and unbelievable price for a Eve of milady look-a-like. In the end, I left happy I had visited. Pros: Great Service, Great Prices, Good Parking Cons: Need larger space more

Horrible Horrible Service!!! 3/23/2006

This store was definately not worth traveling an hour to get to. First, the neighborhood seemed unsafe..I was scared to get out of the car! Second, the interior seemed so dated, dresses were so jammed packed, and pins were all over the changing room floor!!! Third, the service was rude and disrespectful. When looking through the plastic bagged wedding dresses, a saleslady asked what's our budget. We said about $2,000, which we thought was a decent budget. She scoughed at us and said honey, those are out of your price range. Right after that we left as fast as we could. And for those that think because it's so outdated and located in the middle of no where that it's cheap..think again! They're so over priced!!!!! Pros: NOTHING!!! Cons: SERVICE, LOCATION, APPEARANCE more
