I really do understand a salon being busy and an owner having multiple priorities. But the reviews who stated poor customer service are right on target. The salon did not seem overly busy to me during my visit, yet both during my appointment, and on a prior visit a few days prior when I came in to ask questions, the owner acted as if she couldn't be bothered and as if it were an intrusion for me to be there or ask questions. I should have gone with my instinct and not scheduled and appointment, but I did. Immediately after the owner was rude and brusque to me, she turned to another customer (whom she apparently knew ) who had just come in, and greeted her excitedly and as if she couldn't do enough for her. Wrong move. I spent over $120 on my hair service (which was ok, nothing out of the ordinary) and you know what, there are at least 10 salons in this area who can give me better customer service and at least not make me feel as if I am bothering them. I will not return. more

Destroyed my hair 1/1/2012

I had high hopes after reading the reviews and upon making my appointment in this salon; however, after getting an ill-advised perm there (and I had perms 12 years ago, so I'm not new to this), my hair started coming out in clumps, is extremely damaged and fried. I have cried several times when I look at the damage done by this salon. Worse yet, after a couple of weeks, the perm has some pieces hanging straight and others not - so not even consistent, in addition to the damage. I waited 4 full days before washing my hair, but even before washing, I could tell it was badly damaged. I left a phone message at this salon for the owner and it was never returned. I'm just disgusted and angry at not only having my hair badly damaged (and it was healthy when I came in - I don't even use heat styling or anything), and at then having no response from the owner. Would never return and am contemplating filing with the BBB. more

Thank you for doing such a fabulous job with Kendrick's mom today. She's been wanting a manicure for a while now, but I didn't trust anyone to do it with her lowered immunity. I think it was fate that I saw your picture on the website because I had no clue you were doing nails. You were gentle and sweet with her, but you didn't treat her like a cancer patient, and I know she appreciated it. She told me later, ""I really liked that little girl who did my nails. She was funny!"" That is high praise coming from her right now--the chemo has made her feisty (and sometimes cranky!) ;=) We're doing whatever we can to keep her spirits up, and your pampering was just the trick. Great Salon! 8/17/2011

Great salon! Very friendly environment. Connie, owner, cuts and colors my hair and does a fantastic job. Shampoo area has massage chairs and they massage your hands while you relax during shampoo...nice experience. Easy to schedule. Great waxing by Nicole, owner, as well. Always confident that she will do a great job. Highly recommend! more

Jay Andrews Salon is the BEST! 7/19/2011

I love the experience at Jay Andrews. Connie and her staff are friendly, professional and very welcoming. Both my college-aged kids go there too. My son loves the special treatment put into every hair washing. The location at Beaver Creek is extremely convenient. We have been customers of Connie's for about 8 years. I've tried many services at JA's including color, cut, eyebrow waxing, and massage. I've always been extremely happy. This salon's staff gets it about top drawer customer service; I highly recommend it. It's also great for gift cards! more

Wonderful Experience! 3/27/2011

After going to another local salon and having a horrible color experience, I decided to give Jay Andrews a call. I explained that I was very unhappy with the color done at another salon and I was hoping they would be able to fix it. Heather had me come in for a consultation the day before my appointment so that we could go over what exactly I was looking for. I went back the following day and Heather did the color and cut. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. It is exactly what I was looking for and my hair feels and looks healthy again. The salon is a very calming environment and the shampoo chairs are so comfortable and give a very relaxing back massage while you are being shampooed. The complimentary hand massage is definitely a great addition as well. I would highly recommend Heather to anyone!! I will definitely be back to see her again. more

A Great Find! 2/18/2011

I was delighted to have an acquaintance refer me to Jay Andrews in Beaver Creek for color and cut. They were able to accommodate my need for immediate rescue (I'd just had a FRIGHTFUL experience with color at a different salon...bad on so many levels that I was afraid to go back to have them try to ""fix"" it!). I went in looking a bit like the Bride of Frankenstein and came out with beautiful, shiny hair. The salon has a very clean feel and the shampoo chair was the most comfortable I've ever encountered.... complimentary hand massage was a plus :) Everyone was very nice and attentive the moment I walked in. The location is in a shopping center off of Hwy 55...a little hidden, but simple enough to find. Easy to get in and out, and probably a few shops you need to hit anyway! more

Comprehensive Service with Exceptional Customer Care 12/21/2010

Jay Andrews is an extraordinary salon. I am regular customer; I have had a hair appointment with Connie and a waxing appointment with Nicole every other week since the salon opened. From relaxers to haircuts, deep conditioning to straightening my curly hair, and amazing highlights I depend on Connie to bring life to my hair. She spends 1 hour and 15 minutes with me each time I am at the salon - yes my hair requires a lot of work, but the results are amazing. I always get compliments, and in fact, there was an occasion when someone took a picture of my hair at the mall (unbeknownst to me until the person went to the salon and asked Connie to do the same haircut for them)! Most of the staff knows me on a first-name basis and they are always professional and courteous. Needless to say, it is understandable why I am a loyal customer. I highly recommend Jay Andrews Salon for anyone who wants to be pampered. more

I love Jay Andrews Salon! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I have fine hair, which can make trying new styles difficult and leave my hair flat. Connie has helped me to try several different colors, lengths and styles while keeping body in my fine hair, which is no small feat. I completely trust her suggestions and appreciate her honest opinions. I always get compliments on the color and styles. If you are looking for a new salon, I highly recommend Jay Andrews! more

Fantastic stylists and delightful staff 12/8/2010

I can't say enogh about Jay Andrews. I have been a client for just over a year. The beautiful decor, excellent service and luxurious perks make my visits a pleasure. I have seen a few different stylists and they have all been extremely talented, professional and honest. My hair can be a bit unmanageable sometimes, so I do appreciate their suggestions and honest input. My expectations are always realistic and they are always exceeded. more

SuperStore quality at Hollywood prices 9/22/2010

The appointment start time was late & the stylist smelled of cigarettes. I paid for highlights & a haircut. The stylist was unsure of her skills & asked for advice from the owner. The owner & stylist discussed my hair in an insulting tone as if I wasn't there. It was decided that the highlight solution should stay on there longer because I had put box color on my hair (gasp). My hair was cut almost in a mullet because apparently I had a 'shelf' (gasp again). I don't know what a shelf is, but it is much better than what I was left with. more

the BEST salon in the TRIANGLE! 7/25/2010

I have lived in Cary for 5 years. I have visited many triangle area upscale salons/spas, but just have never found the ""perfect"" fit. After a neighbor recommended Jay Andrews, I though I would give it a try as I have been looking for someone to give me a new look - that hairstyle that people would stop me and ask ""Who does your hair?"" I have now been a client there for nearly a year. Both of my sisters and their families are now clients of Jay Andrews, as well. SO EXCITED!!! 7/23/2010

I was a first time customer of Jay Andrews, but will definitely be going back! I had super long hair but wanted a change. They scheduled a consultation with me to talk about what I was thinking about. After we agreed, she cut my hair and colored it. I love that the color they use is plant based and is less damaging to my hair. My hair cut turned out great, and I LOVE the color! It looks like how a child's hair looks with all the natural highlights!! While I was waiting to have my color washed out, I went back to have a quick, but wonderful pedicure! SO relaxing! I never wanted to leave! Their prices were great, and the girls there make you feel like family... Everyone should treat themselves to a service at Jay Andrews!! Pros: Awesome stylests!! Cons: None that I saw!! more

Poor Customer Service! 5/26/2010

I am a busy working mom who walked into Jay Andrews Salon and Spa to because I was interested in grabbing a menu of their services. There were two girls at the counter. Upon entering, one girl looked right at me and then looked away and started talking to the girl standing next to her. I stood at the counter and after they finished talking, they just looked at me. I said, ""I would like a menu of your services."" She stated that they don't have one, but ""I guess I could print you one."" While I was waiting, another lady approached the counter and looked like a manager. I assumed she was because she was giving the other girls some instructions. She never greeted me. Horrible CUT & COLOR!!! DONT GO HERE!!! 5/12/2010

The first time i went i had a descent cut, but i only let her do a small trim. SHe told me half way into my color ""im making you more of a blonde"" - without me asking to be. I walked out of there with a lot of blonde around my face only, in the middle of winter. I neded a toner sooo bad! then i went back to a different girl. i told this one not to cut my top layer shorter than 1.5 inches below my chin. I ended up with my top layer by my cheeks and uneven! the color want noticeable bad until the next day, when i styled it i noticed how i still had major roots and spotty color underneath. Please find another salon. they aren't good AT ALL!!!! Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: These women don't know how to cut and color more

HORRIBLE COLOR + Customer Service and Management 7/22/2009

I received a full highlight and cut and did not receive what I asked for. Then, upon asking them to fix it, they charged me to do so!! In my original visit I even brought in pictures of the coloring that I wanted. You don't get much clearer than that! Well the result was not AT ALL what I asked for. The next day I called them and they fit me into the schedule to have it fixed, but upon my arrival they told me that they would have to charge me for a new set of highlights! I argued with them, but was desperate to have it fixed, so I succumbed. I was feeling really uneasy about having to pay additionally for this, and after talking to a few friends, they all told me that was unacceptable and I should seek retribution. So I called and spoke to the manager and at first they were unwilling to do anything! I argued some more and they offered me a measly 10% off of my next service. I cannot believe that in this economy they would operate in this fashion. I was an unhappy customer and I shouldn't have had to work this hard for good customer service.
