After moving to Arizona 10 years ago, it's nice to get back for some real pizza. When we lived in Tinley whenever it was time for pizza it was always Ed & Joe's. Its hard to find ...

Classic thin crust...Taco Pizza...The Godmother... YUM! 6/26/2007

Ed and Joe's has been a local and family favorite since I was a child(in the mid 70s). As kids we used to love getting the basket of chips and nacho cheese while we waited...very cool from a pizza joint!\r \r Ed and Joe's has an array of appetizers, thin, specialty, and deep dish pizzas, sandwiches and lighter fare to house favorites and pastas. Some of my favorites are:\r \r * Bistro Bread is toasted french bread served with a dipping blend of extra virgin olive oil, basil, oregano, fresh garlic and romano cheese.\r \r * Taco Pizza has a thicker crust, taco beef, salsa, and mozzarella cheese oven baked then topped with crumbled tortilla chips, sliced tomatoes, lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese, served with sour cream and salsa. (Be really hungry for this colossal pizza) \r \r *The Godmother is a grilled chicken breast, sliced and roasted in a french loaf with peppercorn dressing, bruschetta relish and mozzarella cheese.\r (descriptions are from menu)\r \r The service is always friendly and it is truly a family friendly place. Pros: Friendly service, variety on menu for various appetites or tastes more

Its a South Suburb Best 6/26/2007

Ed and Joe's pizza is the best i have ever eaten and i have been eatting pizza for nearly 65 years North side of city and suburbs as well as here in the Southland. The truely most important two ingredients in a pizza...to me anyway....is number one the crust...it HAS got to be crisp and thin and yet be able to hold up to all those fantastic ingredients.... second the sauce...it can NOT taste like it came from a can, then whatever you choose to have put on top of this will naturally be delish!!! Ed and Joe's crust and sauce are top notch! When they tell you your pizza will be ready for pick-up...you can bank money on that. Always HOT. Now to sit down and eat in the restaurant or bar area, well, that is just a pleasure, pure and simple. Service is excellent and always friendly. You know how sometimes you just hate to leave a tip for service cause it was not up to standards...well that won't happen here, every tip the servers receive is well earned. And on another note, which is also important to me is a clean ladies room, and their's always is spotless, having said that i will sign off and leave you with one thought....if you have never had Ed and Joe's pizza.....what ya waiting for...get on over there and enjoy!!!! Martha Fyfe Pros: The Pizza, the other menu items, the service, the cleanliness, and smoke free. more

The thin crust is WAY better than Uno, Due or Giordanos! If you love thin crust, this is the place to go! 6/26/2007

I have worked and played downtown for 22 years and still continue to find that the best pizza around is in my hometown. The thin crust is the best. The owners have worked hard to build a great menu beyond thier pizza and they also have some great pasta dishes as well. The atmosphere is perfect for dinner with your family and for gathering with your friends on a Friday night. The pizza is definately worth a trip to the suburbs and they're conveniently located close to I-80. more

Thin Crust Supreme 6/25/2007

Here's the deal, if you love thin-crust pizza it's worth the trip to Tinley Park to check out Ed & Joe's. Wonderfully crispy thin crust with great, fresh toppings of your choice. The cheese is real and very tasty, sausage is not greasy, just very flavorful. If you want to go a little crazy, the Taco Pizza is pretty insane; approximately three inches of cheese covers this thing plus the tomatoes and sauce and everything else that comes on it. Wisconsin bases its cheese production on the quantity of these things sold.\r Ed & Joe's is, in essense a family pizzaria, but the bar is great and the live music (free!) is a great touch. They pride themselves on finding touring accoustic musicians who can really play a great show.\r I've found the waitstaff to be extremely friendly and courteous. At times, the restaurant can get very busy but it mellows out a little later. If you don't have kids, you might want to avoid the Elmo (or Dora or Princess) nights they have some weekdays; a little nutty unless you are bringing kids.\r Besides the pizza, they also have a phenomenal dinner and sandwich menu. Not at all an old-school Italian pizza joint menu.\r The dining and bar area are very nicely set up. They re-modeled the whole place just a couple of years ago and did a great job.\r Give this place a try. You'll love it. Pros: Great pizza, Excellent free live music Cons: Can get crowded on certain nights more

Awesome pizza & atmosphere 6/25/2007

I moved to Tinley Park about 7 years ago, and Ed & Joe's was the first pizza place I tried. Being a savvy consumer and a bit of a Pizza Snob, I did the area pizza circuit just to make sure that somehow I wasn't being fooled into thinking that just because I loved it the first time, that they were the local Best.\r Well, 7 years later.....they ARE the Best! Not just with pizza (although, it's the only place I ever go for it now) but they have a diverse menu with lots of unique specials....and great live music. How can you beat that??\r They are housed on quaint Oak Park Avenue in Old Tinley in an historic old hotel building. Lots of fun old photos line the walls, and the ceiling is still tin tiles. In the nice weather, you can dine out on the old porch....very cool.\r If you've never been.....you're missing a good one!! more

Best pizza in the South Suburbs 6/25/2007

I have lived in Tinley Park for the past 30 years and this is by far the best pizza in the South Suburbs bar none. The crust is so thin it's hard to imagine it holding all the outstanding toppings they have to offer and yes that I have tried all of them over all the past years. Whenever we have a company function the first food item voted for are family size pizzas from Ed & Joe's, and we normally order at least 20-22 pizzas with at least 2-3 different combination of toppings and they are GONE in 15 minutes. It's just that GOOD!!!! more

Best Taco Pizza ever!!!! 6/25/2007

We stopped by for the first time to see a Folk Singer from Canada and really had a blast. The ""NO SMOKING"" is definitely a BIG PLUS. We have had other entrees that were all supurb. Have recommended to many friends. Keep up the Great Work! more

All food and service is good! 6/25/2007

I like thin crust pizza and it's the thinest i've ever had plus it has alot of flavor and they prepare it very quickly.\r Even on the weekends when you except it to take longer I have experienced no long delays whatsoever.\r But it's not only the pizza that's good......everything else I have tried is equally as good. more

Fantastic Four 6/25/2007

Ed & Joe's has great pizza and more 6/25/2007

Ed & Joe's has great pizza and appetizers. The entertainment is the best and free. Its a great place to go and unwind. The waitresses are the tops. The smoke free environment is great. I would still go if it wasn't, but its tops on my list because its smoke free. The deco of Ed & Joe's is beautiful. It reminds you of a small town atmosphere, but with style. The lounge/bar area is nice with the bar tables and high stools. Great television for the sports game. Its a family environment-great place to take the kids for dinner, then come back after 8 or 9PM just for the adults. The rewards program is great. You can earn free certificates after acquiring so many meals. They send me coupons for my birthday, which no other restaurants do. At least it makes me think they appreciate my business and me. They can see you emails about the weekly entertainment, so you can plan you weekend. And lastly, they send funny jokes to your email every week if you like. (They are clean and funny). Keep up the good work Ed & Joes. \r janice Pros: Everything Cons: I wish they had a full menu after 11PM on Saturday. more

Great Pizza, Wonderful Service, and Awesome Prices! 6/25/2007

We tried Ed n Joe's when we were first married and moved to the Tinley Park area 20 years ago. We were instantly hooked on the pizza not to mention all of the other items that were offered. Over the years we still have Ed n Joe's on the speed dial of our telephone and we even have out of town friends who ask to go there when they visit us. What can we say? When you got it--YOU GOT IT!!! Pros: Great Food, Great Service, & Decent Prices Cons: Can't think of any more

Best Pizza 6/25/2007

We recently moved back to the Chicago area after 20 years. We missed the pizza from our home town very much. Within days of returning to the area, we visited Ed & Joes and were very pleased with the food, service and most of all, that it is now a non-smoking restaurant where we can enjoy eating. Pros: non-smoking Cons: parking more

BEST TACO PIZZA EVER 6/25/2007

I have been eating here since I was about 6 years old. I have yet to find a better taco pizza. Also, the entrees and appetizers are unbelievable (try the scmods) service is always great, and the pop never tastes watered down. Pros: Smoke-free, great food, great drinks Cons: N/A more

BEST pizza.......WORST service !@!#!$!%!! 3/9/2007

Ed & Joe's is probably the best pizza I have ever had. That's saying allot , because we live in the Chicago area, and there are a lot of choices. That being said..... almost every time we go to the restaurant , there is some kind of problem. One time, there were 3 or 4 tables/booths available. The hostess refused to let us sit down, because "" we don't have enough waitresses"". We explained to her we understood, but could we just sit down and wait?. After awhile she finally agreed to our request. We didn't complain to the manager, because he is unbelievably rude . We have dealt with him in the past, and he has no customer service skills.\r He doesn't seem to care, if his customers are happy or not. I honestly do not understand why the owner of this restaurant (ED or JOE ?? ) would not want to improve the problems. Pros: Pizza/Food Cons: Service/management more
