Hi,\r \r Mixed experience with Cinco Mech for me. Initially it was sent by First American and they did the job. Next day there was a leak stain all over the hallway which wasn't before. Cinco returned to my house on the next day but told my wife that the AC wasn't balanced correctly and that the insurance wouldn't cover for anything. Had to file a claim and finally Franck called and said Cinco would take care of everything, and they did!. I guess service level depends on who from Cinco takes the call... Franck you are great to deal with!, but unfortunatelly I can't say the same about the other person who came to my house at first call. Still, I would call Cinco again, but I'll ask for Franck. more

Highly recommended.\r \r I'm not sure why all of the other reviews are so bad. Cinco Mechanical has serviced our heaters and AC units on multiple occasions through our home warranty.\r \r They generally are fair and get things fixed properly fast. If you think they should give you a new AC / Heater instead of performing $100 in repairs then you really don't understand how warranties work. Modern central air units and heaters are made up of multiple components... any of which can be replaced to make the unit function at 100%. Paying a small home warranty fee for a few hundred dollars in repairs is a great deal. more

What a Waste!! 8/6/2010

Here's another horrible review for this shady company.\r \r Cinco Mechanical was sent out to my home to look at my a/c by my home warranty company, Old Republic. The guy who called to set up the appointment was VERY nice and worked with me to arrange a time that worked for me. I had read the horrible reviews, but thought that things might have changed since this guy was so nice! Boy was I wrong!! The a/c tech showed up before the scheduled appointment to where only the babysitter was at the house because I hadn't made it home yet. He gets there and starts saying that he can't touch it because I have a zoned system. We argue that the zoning system is working just fine, but for some reason one of our bedrooms was getting really hot at night and we needed to find out why. \r \r All the tech did was argue with everybody stating that it was a 2 zone house and had to call somebody else out and our home warranty company wouldn't cover it. The guy was just an idiot! First of all we have a 3 zone house, but he refused to listen to us and we just had the whole outside unit replaced by our home warranty company because it went out a few months ago. We are aware that they can't touch the zoning equipment because it's not covered. We are fine with that because the zoning equipment is running just fine.\r \r He then walks into one of the bedrooms and says ""there's your problem. Your a/c vent is closed."" We tell him, no, you're in the wrong room. This room is fine, it's the other room we are having a problem with. The tech then gets mad and says he's not going into the attic to see what's wrong and proceed's to leave. \r \r What a waste of time!! Not only did we take off work to be there, but now we have to wait for somebody else to come out. I don't understand how this place is still in business with practices like this. I hope that tech gets fired for being such a lazy worker. If you don't want to go into the hot attic, then maybe you should find another profession!\r \r Don't even give this company a chance, cause you'll just end up wasting your time! At least I didn't give him any money! more

Cinco Mechanical is Dishonest 7/6/2009

Cinco Mechanical came out to our house to service our AC on behalf of American Home Warranty. The only problem was a worn out blower motor. The tech incorrectly diagnosed the problem to be with our electrical connection and told us we had to pay for an electrician to come out and test it. We paid $75.00 for a certified electrician to come out and he verified that all was set up to code and that there was nothing wrong with the electrical. \r \r After that, American Home Warranty faxed him to come back and fix the problem. It has been 4 days since that and he has not even called to set up the appointment. Neither American Home Warranty nor myself are able to contact him. If he does not reply soon they said they will send someone else. Very frustrating. \r \r It has been 10 days without AC for our upstairs and I think both American Home Warranty and Cinco Mechanical could not care less. Cons: dishonest, unprofessional, hard to contact more

This company was sent by my home warranty company in order to fix my broken A/C. What a riot. The technician told me that it was going to cost 2500 to fix what needed to be fixed and my warranty was not going to cover it. By this time i was floored and called for a second opinion. The second technician that came out, looked at my A/C and told me straight out that i was being ripped. Everything the guy from Cinco said was utterly untrue and was going to charge me 700 to fix it. Stay away people!!!!! more

Run for your life! 1/22/2008

Boy I wish I had read about Cinco earlier! I also had them assigned to me by First American Warranty. Had I known the trouble I was going to have, I would have just called my own repair person. They took 10 days to repair my unit. Between no parts, wrong parts, trial testimony in personal injusry case (repair man) and fishing trip (repairman)...10 days of no A/C! Finally fixed...broke another part while fixing item to be repaired. As a FAVOR to me, was going to fix that for FREE and waive $65 deductible to First American. First American billed me anyway. They said they would waive. Now they are sending me a final notice ""to protect my credit"". RUN RUN RUN! The other stories posted rang very true with my based on my experience including should it be covered, not covered blah blah blah I didn't need 'special' favors. When it was all over, I felt like I had been slimed. \r \r RUN! FLEE! Don't allow them in your home!!!!!! Pros: None. Cons: Too many to list. Read other reviews...same things happened to me more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! 9/4/2007

My experience is almost identical to those listed below. They took almost a week to come out to service our units. We provided them with list of concerns from the buyer's inspection. The technician stayed a total of 15 minutes, 10 minutes of that in his running truck writing out his report. He said that First American would be in contact with us about their decision. ALL 3 OF OUR UNITS WERE RUNNING! Well that was 4 weeks ago. Cinco will not provide a receipt, report, or return phone calls. First American has faxed them 3 times asking that they return our calls. First American sent us a very generalized denial letter: lack of maintenance and incorrect installation. But they will not provide the technician's report- only Cinco can provide it and they won't respond. Totally deceptive company and a repair racket. Don't let First American assign this company to you!!!! We dealt with another company (A+ Appliance and A/C) on a kitchen appliance and the experience was so much better, so I don't believe all First American contractors are this bad. Cons: Lack of integrity, followup and professionalism more

AVOID! 8/16/2007

My home warranty company - First American - sent this company out after our downstairs AC stopped working. Although this wasn't written anywhere in the paperwork we received, the technician told the warranty company that it was incorrectly installed and shouldn't be covered. I immediately had another contractor come out and was told the technician from Cinco Mechanical was full of s**t. Took me a week of fighting with the warranty company to get them to cover the replacement of the compressor, which was totally dead. Our second AC has since started acting up and the home warranty folks again tried to send Cinco Mechanical out - I told them that no-one from that company would be allowed to set foot in my home. We're now getting it fixed by another contractor - Kool Breeze AC - who seems to be really good (great customer service).\r more

Beware of Cinco Mechanical they will blame it on something so it won't be covered 8/15/2007

Avoid using this contractor for home warranty work. They took 4 days to get to my house to fix the air conditioner only to tell me that 1) it would not be covered, 2) my house was wired wrong, 3) even if he did fix it wouldn't be this week. \r \r He finally got tired my lamenting and he hung up on me. I can guarantee I will never, ever, ever use this company again. more

Avoid at all cost 8/10/2007

I am one dissatisfied customer. My home appliance protection company First American sent this guy over to work on my AC unit. The warranty had $65.00 service call deductable. I guess this wasn't enough money to be made because when he saw that he only had to replace a electrical router cap ( a relatively cheap part). He went on to say that he can't replace the router cap because the condensation coil was dirty and was causing the problem. He wanted $250.00 to wash my coil. He said if he reported the cause of the problem to the warranty company as being poor maintenance, the warranty company would not pay for the repair. But if he cleaned the coil, he could send it in as repairable. I ask him to just replace the broken router cap and I'll deal with the coil later. He refused. He gave me the option of let him do it or he'll report the claim not in my favor. Then I'll have to call and make an appointment with him again for another service call and another visiting fee plus then I'll have to pay for replacement of the broken part out of my pocket . This is the closest thing I can think of that sounds like a Medicare Scams from bad doctors that you hear about on the news. These guys can use the warranty company to find their way onto your property and then put on a necessity of additional work to take advantage of customers. I've a victim. This guy wanted to clean two of my AC units, but I said yes only to the one needing the repair. When I call around to inquire other AC service companies for their rates. I should have known when he said not to contact the warranty company. I make the First American Home Buyer Protection Corp. (a Div. of the title compmany with the same name) partially the blame for sending this medicin salesman/tech. BTW , I found out that the AC manuf. manual suggest using a water hose to rinse the coils to do the job. Customers beware. Avoid using this AC service/repair company. Cons: High prices and they make up situations with a bit of untruthfulness and create unrealistic job estimates falsely. more
