Julia helped me with altering my dress- She was so sweet and did such a beautiful job- my dress had to be taken in everywhere and the beading had to be removed and then stitched back on. They even had the train removed- Everything was perfect. I loved my dress and my experience with Julia and everything was done on time at a very reasonable price! :) more

I had a horrible experience with The Bridal & Tuxedo Galleria in Mission Valley. They are in the Chilis parking lot off Mission Gorge and Camino Del Rio N. They had all the grooms parties measurements wrong and we spent over 3 hours the Thursday before the wedding getting last minute fittings. \r \r They didn't have my shoes until about 3 hours before the wedding started. I had to have a groomsmen go pick them up. \r \r The owner, "Tim" was rude beyond belief, and literally scowled at us every time we were in there. Like Jenny said earlier, completely impossible to have a rational conversation with. Every one of my groomsmen said they had some peroblem with him specifically. The only reason we picked the place was because our first encounter was with Amy who was sweet and helpful. If we had met Tim that first day, I would never have done business there. I had put down the full payment for all the tuxedos, and I had all of my groomsmen pay me personally. However, he asked each one more

When I asked for the check, he tried to write it out for $54.00. I sorta blew up in his face and told him he had provided lousy service and now he's trying to steal from me too. It was such a scam. In the end, I was able to get $77.00. Not sure how he came up with that figure, but I was relieved to just cut my losses and get outta there! I should have gotten everything in writing from these people. Please keep this in mind when you are dealing with them. Get it in writing or he will try to scam you. I had a terrible experience shopping for a gown here. Everything was fine during the actual shopping time--it was when I picked up the dress that the drama started. Staff was rude and unhelpful, had opened the store late and quadruple-booked a time slot for fittings even though there were only 2 employees in the store to help with fittings, prep for alterations, and answer the phones. My dress was a disaster. I am busty and when I was measured to order the dress, we actually ordered a dress 4 sizes bigger than what I normally wear so that we could make sure it fit securely in the bust and then we would take it in everywhere else. However, when I got the dress, we had the opposite problem--it was huge in the bust and too tight everywhere else! I'm not sure if the problem was in the measuring or the ordering, but they have a strict no refunds policies and clearly think it is the shopper's fault even in a case where what we agreed upon and what I was sold were so clearly different. I did not read reviews before shopping here. i should have. Everything seemed ok while trying on tux's for myself and groomsmen. When we went to pick up tuxs, the wrong shoes were given to one of my groomsmen and told they did not have any extra of the correct shoe. Also, was told i would have to pay $20 extra to ""ship in"" the tux i wanted because it is not one they keep in the store. We also rented the top hop, but they did not reserve it for us saying they did not know we wanted it. So to rent it on that day was $42 or $45 to buy it. Needless to say, i bought it. Upon return of the tuxedo, since I was on my honeymoon, my friend returned everything in the bag. AFTER he left, they called my phone and said the tie was missing and that I would be charged $35 for it. When I returned home a week later, i called and asked how much a rental of a tie was. i was told $15, but when I asked to return the charge of renting it (since I now had to buy it) they said it was less because of a ""package"" deal. When i asked how much the discounted rate was, Tim told me that the girl who takes care of the counter and money would not be in until 2pm. Another runaround trick. i will never recommend this place. I was very happy with the service. My wedding gown and all my brides maid dresses were beautiful and came in on time. My finace also ordered his tuxedo and he was happy with the price. I shopped around every where and they have the best selection and for sure the best prices. I had a pretty good experience here. The first time I came in, I met with Amy. I'm very OCD, so for the dresses I liked I had a spreadsheet of designers, their style numbers, and where the dresses could be found. I came in with a list of the designers that said they could be found at B&TG, and the style numbers I found on the designers' websites. When I came in, though, the store had their own style numbers and didn't leave the labels on the dresses. Regardless, Amy took my list and tried to locate the dresses on them, while I went through the store's books and picked out other dresses I wanted to try on. Amy did a great job! The store was pretty busy that day, but she still managed to find dresses off my list and pull them for me, pin me (with the help of another helpful consultant) each time I came out of the dressing room. I love a lot of the dresses and Amy kept a list of the ones I really liked. The dresses were also relatively within my price range. I came back a 2nd time because I was unable to try on everything from my list during my first appointment (I had a TON of dresses on my list!). This time, Courtney helped me. I was pretty early for my appointment and Amy was helping someone place an order. Amy still had my list, and Courtney pulled the remaining dresses that I had yet to try on. She was really helpful, too. My mom and I had some questions about colors that dresses came in (one of the dresses I tried on was pink!) and she found the answers for us and even found some photos of the dresses in the colors I was interested in: white! She was very helpful. I had a good experience both times I went to try on dresses. I will probably go back again to look at a couple of my favorites, and I'm sure the experience will be just as good. more

HORRIBLE service. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would only say AVOID this place. You can try dresses on here and then go to any other shop to order, alter, etc. I found and ordered one dress...THE dress. They called me the next day to tell me it was too late to order that one and that they could not have it in time for my wedding. I came in again and found a second one. Not THE one at all, but one that was OK. I was less than excited about the situation. In tears I ordered the second dress, payed half up front and waited for it to come in. Curious, I called several other stores in town and they said it would be no problem to get THE dress...the one I really wanted. I went into Bridal and Tuxedo Galleria to tell them I didn't want the ordered dress b/c I could in fact have the dress I wanted! They refused to give me a refund and I was stuck wearing a second choice dress. Later I found out that Bridal Tuxedo Gal. has such a horrible reputation w/ all of the distributors regarding lack of payment, etc. so it was just them that couldn't get my dress. They were so in debt to the warehouse that they refused to send any more dresses to them. It was a HORRIBLE experience and I would never go there again! Pros: I would give it NO STARS if I could!!!!! This lil Shop Is Huge on Service! they have the best prices in San Diego and they have everything you're looking for in high quality designer dresses with OUT the snobbery of those high end boutiqes. Theyre not outrageous with their prices and they can get anything you would want! ONE STOP Wedding shop! They even have a vast selection of discontinued dresses for over 50% off! theyre amazing! I'm giving it one star because I'm not sure if it will let me give zero stars. I went here after reading a couple bad reviews, just in the name of giving multiple stores a chance. It was literally a gross shopping experience. When I did find some dresses to try on, I didn't want to touch them -- the inside of the straps of one of them was actually brown with grime or something. I mean, I know sample dresses get tried on over and over, but dry clean your stock every 10 years or so! Plus, I had heard about stores that try to scam people by cutting the tags off the dresses so you don't know who the designer is, and you can't comparison shop at other stores if you find one you like. This was one of those stores, and that makes them super-shady in my eyes! Don't waste your time. If you're in the market for a wedding dress or tuxedo, you're busy enough already. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE. They used the fact that my wife and I were busy with our wedding to cheat us and steal our money. After promising a discount on tuxedo rentals for doing so much business with them (We rented more than a dozen tuxes and paid them more than $1,000) they failed to give us the discount. When confronted they claimed that they had sent us a check. When I attempted to explain that the matter in question was not one of checks but of money the owner said that we wouldn't get our money unless we brought him a check we never got. My wife and I are young people trying to start our lives. We promised the money from that refund to our groomsmen and cannot afford to make it up ourselves. This merchant has forced us to default on promises made to our dearest friends and family. They have wasted countless hours of my time with lies, stalling, and denials. I am now taking legal action against them so that I can make good on the promises I made to my friends and family. I've never had as much trouble or pain with a rental as with this disreputable company. Pros: Excellent selection of tuxes. This is the reason we used the store. This was the 2nd place I went to when I started looking for my wedding dress. Though my consultant was nice, she was completely useless. She had me pick out dresses that I liked from a large binder. She didn't recommend anything that she thought might look good on my body until the VERY end...2 hours later. She was far more preoccupied with a little 7 year old girl, who apparently is a regular, that likes to pick out her future wedding dress. She kept going on and on about how cute she was, yet could care less if I liked my dress. I had NO help in their minature sized fitting rooms filled with 3 wedding dress options at a time. The place is dirty, lighting is horrible, and service is useless. Go somewhere else! more

The customer service here is horrific. I bought a beautiful dress for sale, off the rack, in a size much too large for my petite self because I was assured the seamstress could alter it for me. That was a joke. I had to tell her the obvious, that the bust was way too big still and that the proportions of the size 12 dress were completely off for me, a size 0. Each new alteration was going to be a new charge, which would have ended up costing a fortune. They did nothing to rectify the situation and the manager, Tim, was unhelpful, deceitful, and completely impossible to have a rational conversation with. Two of the sales girls were very sweet and kind, but I had a negative impression of the overall staff. They were only into making a buck and customer satisfaction was null and void. Save yourself headache and heartache and shop elsewhere. more

It pains me to write this because I had such a bad experience here. I bought a sale dress in a much-too-large size for my petite frame because I was assured the seamstress ""could do anything."" That was a lie and a joke. I had to practically tell her how to alter the gown because she thought that only by hemming and taking it in that it was finished. The proportions were way off, and when I tried to explain my dissatisfaction to the manager, he did nothing to rectify the situation whatsoever. He was completely irrational to work with. I ended up having to purchase another dress elsewhere. He insinuated that it was my fault all along, because I had tried on ""so many dresses"" and besides, he claimed, brides make so much of this one dress that they are only going to wear for a few hours anyway. Can you believe that? This is one of the most important days of a woman's life, they are selling bridal gowns, and this is what they tell you?? I hope if you are reading this you haven't already purchased your gown and made a fatal mistake as I and many others have done by entrusting an important event to deceptive sharks like the folks here. I made a reservation to try on wedding dresses two weeks in advance. When I showed up they couldn't find my appointment reservation. To say the least I was treated as an inconvenience. It was not even busy but the receptionist had to pull the dresses for me to try on. Nobody helped me put the dresses on or take them off. They were not very interested in helping me and could care less whether I purchased a dress from them. The shop was dirty and the dresses were in bad condition. I was so upset to say the least. We ended up leaving after only 30 minutes. By far this was the worst experience I had looking for a wedding dress. I would never recommend this bridal shop to anyone!! I only gave this business one star because zero wasn't an option. more

Seriously, the worst customer service. They had a ton of dresses, but tore off the designer tag on every single one. Horrible customer service, no one attended to me while trying on wedding gowns-the most important dress of my life thus far, and overall they seems annoyed at any question I asked. When I'm about to spend $2000 on a dress (!), you better treat me right, and not have me run around the store to ask for help!
