Bob's Rooter & Plumbing

In 2005, when we moved to LA, we had Bob's Plumbing bidding for a job in our newly-bought home, along with over a dozen other plumbing companies. They offered the best bid, and provided outstanding service!! We've used them constantly for 8 years now, for our house, and for our commercial properties. We can't speak highly enough about their reasonable prices, high quality of work, promptness in services...and the whole family are so genuinely nice too. It's a family owned and run business. So one gets to know his daughters who do the booking via phone, and his sons and nephews who work with him in the jobs. Everyone is highly professional, and pleasantly nice. My house turned 100 this year and my mishmash pipes needed to be replaced. Bob's Rooter & Plumbing gave me the second, most specific, and last estimate I needed. For approximately the amount of my first quote, they also secured my gas pipe and a several other extras. They started and completed the job the day after I contracted with them. Bob's grandson, Shane, estimated and oversaw the job and I feel that I know this lovely, professional, and hardworking family now! Mat was the capable plumber in charge. He and the whole work crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat, and thorough. It was after dark when they finished, and Shane didn't even mention payment until he returned the next day to inspect the work, cleanup by daylight, answer questions, and and perform finishing touches. Oh, I had asked them to subtract the sink piping from the estimate because it had rather recent new/cheap piping. I wasn't charged for it, but Shane re-piped the sink because he didn't like the ugly stuff. Nice to know they are a family business; I plan to leave the house and their phone number to my daughter. more

I'm quite happy with the work. Important is that leak is gone. Professional approach and it didn't take much time. I think that the most important thing when dealing with plumbers. I'll count on them in the future. more

After searching online for a plumber to fix my toilet, I chose Bob's because they are a small family-owned business in my neighborhood that has been around a long time. From start to finish, they provided excellent customer service. The technician showed up on time, was very clean and professional and friendly, patiently explained everything to me, and answered all my questions. He instantly diagnosed the problem, had replacement parts on hand to fix it, and the toilet was working again in no time. The price was too low because he refused to charge me for snaking out my sink and he happily spent the extra time doing so. I am extremely pleased with the whole experience and cannot recommend them enough! more

Just cannot say enough about Bob's Plumbing. Came out today and tackled a project a ""big diamond..hint hint"" company wouldn't attempt. An American family company and determined to please the customer. They were clean, courteous and totally professional and the price was more than fair, in fact cheaper than I had prepared myself for. They could have given up but instead worked for hours to solve a complicated problem and I will now forever be a Bob's client. Plus, they're good NFL fans!! more

I had someone else out here, and they did a lousy job. My main line ended up breaking, and I decided I had to get another opinion. Thank God I did because Bob's Rooter & Plumbing ended up replacing everything the other guy had done. I had considerable work done by Bob. I was totally pleased with the cost, the workmanship, and their people. They are family oriented, and all the lead people get along very well. They are professional, and they all have good relationships with one another. Bob had actually done work for me 30 years ago with a part of the main line and some cement work. His work is still holding fast. I didn't know if he was still in business, and he wasn't in the neighborhood, so I didn't call him first, but that was a mistake. You can trust him to do a good job. The end result will hold up. You are in really good hands with him and his family. He is knowledgeable and considerate; he knows and meets the needs of his customers and goes a step beyond. I have been using Bob's Rooter & Plumbing Co. for about 4 years now because they are reliable, fair, fast, and honest. I am a real estate agent and have used them to do the sewer line for my own house as well as for work on my clients' properties. I am impressed! The plumbers I have called in the past usually were not only sloppy, living up to their image, but not informative and hard to understand! I read the reviews on Bob's and decided to give them a try. Now I know by reading reviews on various companies or restaurants this can be a crap shoot but I did it anyway since I had no other source but the dreaded ""Yellow Pages"". Bob's Delivered! I was very impressed by his son Shane who came to my home when my washing machine was acting up. He not only showed me the problem but ran cameras and other equipment to inform me of potential problems on the horizon! He was so efficient in his diagnostic process he ended up flushing my water heater, replacing my washing machine hoses, which are the biggest threat to houses flooding and cleaning all my drains in the house! Since my house was built in the 30's and has most of the original pipes, Shane gave me a contract price that is good until the end of the year! I will be calling Bob's in the future to ""update"" as Shane put it, my pipes. I have to say Shane gave me an additional $10.00 off if I left him a review. He didn't have to do that because I was sincerely happy to do this after my experience with Bob's. It started a little rough in the beginning with the office but turned out very satisfactory! I interviewed three companies to replace my main sewer line. Bob gave the best assessment (trenchless) and remedy for the repair. The work was flawless, his equipment and technicians were top quality. We are very happy that we hired Bob and will recommend him to all of our friends and family. We had a sink in the office back up on us. Since we occupy space in the same complex as Bob's Rooter & Plumbing, I ran over and asked if they could help. The office staff was very helpful as they dropped everything and started calling to get us someone right away. Within the hour Bob showed up and quickly fixed the problem and left no mess. My girlfriend has used Bob's over the years and yesterday (Saturday) when I couldn't fix the drain in my sink she insisted I call Bob because he was ""amazing"". Bob himself showed up a few hours after I called and fixed my sink in no time. We got to chatting about his family biz and about his son's that have worked w/him and his father with whom he started Bob's with. While we were chatting I mentioned that my heating unit (one of those old wall heaters) was broken. Bob got up, diagnosed the problem in a few minutes and said, ""If you want I can run down to the hardware store and pick up the part you need and you'll have your heat back on today!!! Bob's Rooter did an outstanding job at my hillside Silver Lake location of replacing the lateral and saddle for connection of my sewer to the city main line. The company responded quickly for my call for help, completed the job in the time frame promised and cleaned up the area so well that I was totally satisfied. They spent time with me explaining my options and gave me an extremely fair price compared to other estimates I had received. We had a major sewer line problem and we live in an 80 year old house on a hill in Los Feliz. Instead of digging trenches and tearing up the original brick patio and backyard, Bob and his team used a new technology to access the pipe and shoot coating through it to repair the problem and prevent it from failing again. He gave a 50 year warrantee (no that's not a typo) yes fifty years. He and his team really know everything about plimbing and take the time to explain things. He is honest and experienced and his team leaves the place spotless after the job is done. Bob's rooter and plumbing is the way service is seen in films--unreal! Bob took on a really messed up job from another plumbing company (Schuelke) that I had major problems with & filed a CSLB complaint against & won. It's a testament to Bob's confidence & service that he took this job on - knowing that there were previous problems. Most contractors would shy away from this sort of thing but he didn't - even after knowing the full story. His sons & nephews were courteous, professional and they did an awesome clean-up job in my backyard! They even fixed my tub for free. I called these guys because my sewer was blocked. Actually I called another local company first. The other company came out and told me I had to replace my sewer after working on it for about 20 minutes. First off it was difficult to understand them. I didn't feel comfortable, ""I felt pressured"". They charged me $185.00 after I told them I was going to get another opinion. They didn't even clear my blockage!! So I called Bob's. Bob's son Shane came out and cleared my blockage very quickly. He showed me why the sewer blocked up with a camera. He was very informative and gave me options on what I can do. His price on replacing the sewer was more than the first guys but I will not call them back. I trust this company to do a better job so I made an appointment for next month to have the work done. For those people who are looking for a low cost, pop & go plumber who does not share in the same expenses as many professional services such as, liability insurance, licensing, workers comp, adequate service vehicles w/equipment, administrative staff, shop expenses etc., there are many more of them than there are legal entities. I prefer to call them ""cell phone plumbers"". The perception is they are inexpensive, the reality is in most cases they are unlicensed, uninsured, ill equipped, irresponsible and any kind of guarantee you receive is worthless. The work is shoddy and usually has to be redone by a professional. You are at there mercy. If you hire them, you have NO RECOURSE in case of flooding, fire damage, property damage or injuries. No license, No insurance, No recourse. more

I have a 1927 y.o. home which will be changed over to copper as soon as some very critical matters unfold. In the meantime, I called Bob's as I saw they worked on older homes and the tub faucet sprung a leak - the plumbing is old, granted, and perhaps not a simple job. Jason and I had an appt. the next morning but he showed up unannounced that night because he was in the area. He checked the leak and gave me options. The price was higher than another estimate I got. Jason, nice enough guy - comped me a shower head, did say they were higher priced than some others as they had high overhead. None of the options were ok with me...mainly due to price and that there would be more cost to redo the tile he would break thru. Once he left, the leak was now full blown non-stop running water. I called and got a woman who said she would get Bob on the phone. I said I needed Jason to return to at least leave my home in the condition it was in before his touching the tub. I was told it would not be that night. Jason called and told me to turn off the water to the house and use a plumber I had told him quoted a lower price. When pressed, he said yes, he could have been responsible for breaking the 'seat' and causing the heavy flow...but made no attempt to remedy this in anyway. Not even an 'I am sorry'. more

Made appointment with Bob's Rooter and Plumbing and was given a time window. Bob's office contacted me twice with updates on the time that the plumber would arrive and he was there as promised. Office staff was polite and efficient. Plumber for this job was Bob himself. He had to check a line to the refrigerator for water that goes to ice maker. Bob was thorough and efficient. He took care in keeping area clean and dry and figured out exactly what needed to be done. I had a kitchen sink overflowing from the apt. upstairs when I found Bob's on City Search. Having read so many nice things about this company I thought I would give them a try. My landlord couldn't reach the regular plumber (creep) for the bldg. so he told me to call someone and I'd be reimbursed. Well, Bob's son Jonathan shows up and what a sweet gentleman he was! I was a little surprised at first because he is such a young man but he took care of the problem in less than 20 minutes. He wore his little orange booty's, had a pad for his tools and equipment, cleaned up my sink and even shined up my faucet! After having the regular bldg. plumber slop around my apartment in the past, this was just such a treat! Jonathan is adorable, clean, courteous and a gentleman. Highly recommend these people!
