Austec is the worst! We've had a technician come ouT 6 times (SIX) to ""fix"" our Maytag dryer! Each time he comes out he says it's fixed, but within an hour is stops working. Lauren (the receptionist) is extremely rude, and will not connect us to the owner (larry). To say that this ""company"" is giving out good service is a joke! There is no reason that a technician should have to come out 6 times to fix something that he should be well trained & certified in. I am extremely disappointed with Austec and am shocked that they are credited through the BBB. Don't worry, you will be hearing from the BBB soon, Larry! My husband and I have sent Larry 4 e-mails, and he has not responded to ANY of them. What kind of business is this? PEOPLE BEWARE OF THIS SHADY COMPANY!!! more

Prompt and good appliance repair company 11/2/2011

My Maytag Dishwasher push button front panel quit working and I had an Extended Warranty through Home Depot on it. Austec Appliance was assigned to repair it and Cleo came out and checked it out. He determined it was the push button panel as well as the electronic control board malfunctioning. They ordered the parts and even had them sent directly to my house so I knew when they were there. I called them the day I had both parts and Cleo promptly came out and repaired the dishwasher and tested it out with no questions. I would highly recommend this company for appliance repairs and Cleo the technician that came out to do the repairs. My dad used to own his own appliance repair business for 32 years and ended up getting a job assisting techs with appliance repair so I know about appliance repair and they did a great job and were prompt with my dishwasher repair. Declines to do repairs on a military Installation ! 10/3/2011

I have an extended warrranty with Lowes who have a list of repair shops. I was given this company. I am a Military spouse whose Husband is currently deployed. Any how this company called me to set up a time to fix the dryer. They asked If we lived on post ( military installation) I said yes they said they could not provide service to me. I asked why they said it takes to much time to get on post. Well I beg your pardon tell that to all the Spouses that are at home with out a Spouse who is deployed and looking after finances the home and raising children. While there Spouse is away for up to 15 months from home ! what if all the service members said they do not have time ! So if you are military or retired please think before you go with this company they are obviously not Patriotic because time is too important to them. I called them back to get the correct spelling before filing all of my issues and they called me back and told me Lowes should not of put them on my account to fix the dryer. To file a complaint to Lowes which I will do expressing that they are passing the buck. So Military service members and retirees and Patriotic Texans read this and take notice please ! more

I wanted to thank you for what Austec has done for us. Austec made the last 3 of 10 service calls we had on the same KitchenAid refrigerator. The problem was not fixable on this particular unit even though 3 separate appliance repair companies tried. Your phone call on April 28th with findings to Whirlpool made the difference. I made the call to Whirlpool yesterday morning. The KitchenAid Product Specialist submitted a request for ""approval to exchange."" We got the call just 30 hours later from the committee confirming approval. We should have a new KitchenAid delivered withing 10-14 business days. more

Best experience with service agreement work 5/12/2011

This company is the best we've had work on our appliances. My washer stopped on Wednesday. Thursday was my appointment day. Brandon called before 9 a.m. and was here in the 2 hour frame he gave me. This was during the rain and high winds all in the area. My washer is now working! Thank you, Brandon! more

I am shocked to see the review below, but I'm guessing holiday confusion played a part. I called them for warranty repairs on my Jenn-Air appliances and they were quick to respond, showed up within a week, and diagnosed the problems pretty quick. Part was ordered and once the part arrived a few weeks later, their technician was at my house a couple of days later. I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to warn me about the plastic dishwasher tabs and how they might cause issues down the road and that I might want to avoid using the 'Clean' feature on my oven as that might cause some wear as well. Two thumbs up from this 1st time homeowner! more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL 12/20/2010

Samsung washer went out. Austec came out three days later. My choices were limited as not many appliance repair people work on Samsung. The appliance service manager told me my pump was out and he would place an order for one when he got back to the office. I told him I would be glad to pay extra for expedited shipping. He said he would have the parts department let me know if that was possible and that he would definitely be able to repair the machine before Christmas. Between the holidays and slogging back and forth to the laundromat, I mistakenly trusted this company to perform as professionals. I received a telephone call today, two weeks after my washer quit working, asking me to authorize the order of the part! It seems that the parts manager went on vacation for a week and no one bothered to conduct business while he was gone, so my parts order was never placed!! Absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible. How do these people stay in business!!!??? Yuk!!! more

WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE USE TO BE!! 11/27/2010

I just got through reading reviews before I wrote mine and I was perplexed by the variance of service reviews. The only conclusion I could come up with is that there are people who are wound to tight and then their are people who are gracious and understand that they are not the only people on the planet. With that being said, I had the best experience with these people and always get good service from them. My brand new LG French Door Bottom Freezer went out the month after purchasing from Best Buy. I had just purchased about $250.00 worth of food for a holiday bar-b-que and the refrigerator went out. I was on the phone with LG customer service trying to understand them and their I'm just here for the money attitude which by the way comes with no comprehension of the english language. LG CS wanted me to unplug the unit for 48 hours and then plug it back in and hope for the best and then wait until they could get someone out to service it which may have taken a week or more!!! Now think about this. Dish washer, you can hand wash; washer/dryer, you can take to laundromat; stove, take out or microwave; refrigerator.....well you get the picture. So I call Austec while LG is on the phone with me and am talking to both women at the same time. Austec (I wish I could remember her name) listened and was truly compassionate about my situation (unlike LG CS) said she was sorry that it would be a few days before they could get to my house which included a weekend. I got of the phone with them both and was furious because of all the political reasons I get upset with talking to people in a foreign country that has no concept of why we Americans get so upset over a non working appliance. BECAUSE....we work really hard for our money only to spend it on something really cheap and made in China to pay China back for all the money we have borrowed to get our butts out of a jam all the while telling the American people not to spend what they don't have. (oh crap!! off message) Anyway I was fuming and then the phone rings. Austec said they could be at my house that day!!! I was ecstatic. By the time we got off the phone Austec took my really bad day and my rage and turned it into laughter by the end of the conversation. They were able to squeeze me into their already full plate that day and I live in Buchanan Dam!! Now that is what customer service use to be. Brandon came out looked and saw the problem, ordered the part, came back out put the part on. The whole repair time was maybe 1 hour!! Kindness and understanding goes a really long way that's why I will always call on Austec. Five Star ***** in my contacts. more

Service = GREAT 11/9/2010

I was impressed that Austec's technician was professional and very knowledgeably regarding the repair of my high end appliance! I have full Viking appliances; and am lucky to have David at Austec to not only repair my oven, but to show me features I was unaware of after owning the oven for over 2 yrs. The service and expertise I received from Austec Appliance was affordable and complete.I recommend them to anyone who wants good honest service. more

Service Manager is a nutcase 10/29/2010

When we originally called asko (the manufacturer of our dishwasher) about service, they said their warranty would cover parts and labor. AUSTEC said that ""parts and labor didn't cover the service call"" I called Asko back and they said it should, so I called Austec back and told them. They were pretty irritated. They sent the ""service manager"" out to our home to service the dishwasher. He was cranky and complained the entire time. It was so bad, we thought about asking him to leave. He complained about how Asko puts their dishwashers together, about how they don't bend the metal edges over so the people who work on them won't cut their hands. He said whoever installed it shouldn't have used long screws on the sides. He complained that the front was screwed in too tight. He clearly did NOT want to work on the Asko. The carpenter who made my cabinets put a little kickplate infront of the bottom of the dishwasher to match the cabinets. He complained about that even though I took it off. There were crumbs and apparently an apple core under there ...because even though I swept it up under there for him, he felt it was necessary to write that up ""apple core"" in his report to asko where he stated that our dishwasher was abused and dirty and that he had to clean in order to work on it. Ummm...wow. I didn't see him clean anything. There is some dried detergent in there from the day it stopped working. The top where the switches are is a little worn and there is tiny crack in the plastic strip where people thought it was a button...but his report was scathing and unreal. My housekeeper had been there the day before! He didn't want to work on it so he burned us with Asko so bad they don't want to send anyone else out to look at it. He never even diagnosed the problem. I had a full house when he arrived to work on it (kids, pets, two adults) We all found it necessary to get away from that end of the house while he was there. My husband and I now know we should have asked him to leave while we were ahead. A real nutcase with anger issues and a completely unprofessional operation. Call someone else! more

I set up service with Austec appliance to service my dryer. The person in the office who took my call was very friendly. The service technician, Brandon, arrived on time and diagnosed and fixed the problem the same day. I was very impressed and would recommend Austec to everyone. more

Very pleased with the service 10/26/2010

Travis B was the 3rd technician we had come out to service our Samsung refigerator. First two guys couldn't diagnose the problem and told me I was hearing things(funny, loud running sound every minute or so). This went on for a couple of months, driving me crazy. Travis B came out, figured out the problem, ordered the part and wah-lah, it was fixed. Blessed silence. He was very friendly and knowledgable and we were very pleased with the service. more

Avoid like the PLAGUE 6/16/2010

Our microwave stopped working on April 5th and we called the warranty in to Lowes who sent Austec to repair it. Their 1st visit was April 9th, then April 20th, then May 1st. They finally admit it cant be fixed and Lowes sends a merchandise credit card so we can purchase a new one. Fine. THEN we see that Austec has scratched our counter top putting the microwave on top of it without protection. We call Lowes to report this and they tell us to contact them directly to have them deal with it. The owner Larry and the tech Brandon visited our house on May 24th, photograph the scratches and assure me they are going to do everything they can to fix it. That was the last I heard from them. I left 4 messages for the owner and never rec'd a call back. Each time I called to leave these messages I am left on hold for 5 minutes or more and have to call back and say NO I will not be put on hold. Since we never get a call back from them we have escalated it to Lowes (who hired them in the 1st place). They also put Lowes on hold forever and then HUNG UP on them! Still dealing with this but going through Lowes now. Cons: Slow work, bad communication, caused damage! more

Impressed 4/21/2010

I have an old trash compactor whose door was stuck and wouldn't open. A repairman from another company spent a long time trying to fix it with no luck. I called Austec Appliance, though I figured it was probably a waste of time and money. I would have been satisfied if they could even just get the drawer open so I could empty the trash; I figured the compactor was probably a goner. Then Travis from Austec Appliance came out. He called at least three times beforehand to let me know when he was coming. He worked hard to diagnose the problem and resolved it successfully. I would like to commend Jacob, the service technican, who repaired my Whirlpool Washing Machine. He was very precise and did an excellent job. He kept in contact with me regarding my appointment and arrived on time. He exceeded my expectation for a job well done. I would recommend him to anyone.
