I know it must be very hard to run a service department. Everyone showing up late, service taking longer than expected, etc. That being said, I showed up on time and after 45 min, seeing my car still sitting there in the service lane, I had to leave to go for a walk before I got mad. Really, my total time waiting was 2hrs and they said "about 1.5" so it wasn't that bad. The few times I've had to bring it in, it sits for quite some time before it is even started. All things aside, Auburn VW has gone out of their way for me on several occasions so I'll be back. more

emission light came on going to work 12/02/13 thought I better bring it in that night. Talked to Rod, Told him about the warning light and since I had it in, I told Rod about the hesitation and bang in the transmission when going around corners Rod said the throttle body may need to be cleaned. The warning light was that the thermostat was sticking and needed replacing.The next morning Rod called to tell me ,it is done $833.00! we came up with a Costco discount 10% $766.00! Couple weeks later I see your survey, so I figure I should look under the hood to see how it looks. There are factory finger clips that wires and hoses go into. that were not put back in place, and a hose clamp hanging with the screw still in it. If the little things are not put together correctly then how was the rest of the work done? I came in and talk to Jerry, he took it back in the garage had it fixed. Told me that he would take a $100.00 off on my next service. He did a very good job of pleasing me, very professional. I left pleased. Stopped at Lowes came back to the car and thought I should look under the hood. The finger clip holds two wires and a one inch diameter hose. Still one wire was not put back in place. I put the wire in place and thought maybe it vibrated loose. I checked it again days later, and it was still in place. Which means the mechanic still didn't care to see that his work was done right. The transmission still bangs. I am easy on my machinery. 85,000 miles and still 50% brakes left. Not really certain about bringing it back, may just trade it in at VOLVO. more

Insufficient attention to detail 1/13/2014

I recently had service on my car and they damaged the paint. After first denying their responsibility, and after some discussion, they said they would fix it. They did indeed fix it to my satisfaction, but when I returned the car for the paint fix it turned out I needed a new rear wiper motor at the same time. When I picked the car up I noticed that the rear window wiper squirter nozzle was not hitting the window high enough up on the window. I dropped the car back at the dealer and they did adjust it by the time I picked it up by they didn't recheck this sufficiently because the squirter stream now hits the rear spoiler and mainly misses the window. I took the car anyway, and later that week I got a rear hatch sensor fault. I took the rear hatch apart myself and discovered it was wet inside the rear hatch door. I found the cause when I barely touched the reservoir hose going to the rear wiper motor and the hose popped right off the fitting. I pushed it back on until it snapped on firmly, dried out the hatch, and was able to remove the rear hatch sensor fault. They clearly were in a hurry or lax in their work. This was upsetting since with the rear hatch fault active I could not lock the rear hatch at all and I have an expensive subwoofer and amp in the back of my car. I feel that they are rushing their work and are not being thorough in their approach or testing of repairs. To my thinking and experience, their work quality has dropped off in the last year or two. more
